Saw II in Movies ·

Has anyone here watched House of Nine with Kelly Brook? I caught it yesterday, and honestly, it felt like I was watching Saw; the plot is remarkably similar where everyone is kidnapped and trapped in a house, except instead of being given twisted tasks, they're just handed guns. And, naturally, everyone ends up killing each other.

Personally, I actually preferred House of Nine over Saw, primarily because of how the ending played out.

Andrew Williams said:Did you actually play the game? To me, the AvP movie feels like it was pulled straight from the video game—for instance, the way the top came out was identical to the game (it wasn't nearly that crazy in the movies).

For the most part, I actually enjoyed the movie, though I really felt like it needed more runtime.

Compare it back to AvP 1. Everything about this one leans too heavily on the game, and that's exactly why the film falls short. It’s missing that dark, moody atmosphere we saw in Alien 1, along with the sense of mystery surrounding the Predator, better dialogue, a cohesive plot, stronger logic, decent acting, well-developed characters, and just general intelligence.

Jacob Edwards3 said:I watched the movie about fifteen days ago, and honestly, it felt like a strange, messy blend of King Scorpion and Journey to the Center of the Earth, all served with a heavy side of Freddy Krueger. Having grown up on Alien and Predator, I’ve lost count of how many times I've revisited those classics, but this particular film just completely ruins the magnificent concept of an AvP conflict. It's illogical, the pacing is non-existent, and the plot feels like something I could have scribbled down myself in five minutes. Still, I suppose the only redeeming quality is the sheer charm found in the mere idea of seeing an AvP showdown unfolding right before our eyes.

Kudos to you. I am in complete agreement.

McTiernan actually directed the original Predator.

What are you getting at?
I'm simply offering a thought on what you wrote.

Unfortunately, it’s a real shame that John McTiernan didn't direct it.

Honestly, it probably would have been better if he hadn't directed Stargate, because that movie was a total wash.

The movie isn't quite as terrible as people make it out to be. I'll admit it could have been better, and my expectations were certainly higher, but it is what it is. Here are a few screenshots I took myself:
