America: World Water Polo Champions! in Other Sports ·
Our offensive coordination is nowhere near what we demonstrated during that matchup against the Mexicans. We're getting absolutely dismantled by the Canadians and their suffocating zone defense; it makes feeding the center impossible, and honestly, we're just too far out from the goal to find any rhythm with our perimeter shooting.

Well, I suppose things are looking reasonably fine for the moment. Vican is putting on quite a solid performance in the net, which, as we all know, is absolutely vital. 😉

Those good old Americans will likely need to undergo a bit of a roster overhaul very soon themselves. 🙂 It seems everyone is still there, with the sole exception of Attila Varia. Along with those well-known veterans, one should probably mention 23-year-old Daniel Varga, though he has certainly established himself within that squad quite some time ago. 😉

😁

It’s quite funny, actually; I was just looking back and noticed that before today's big matchup against Mexico, this whole thread was barely three pages long. Then, I step away for an hour after the game ends, come back to check in, and wouldn't you know it—suddenly we're already twelve pages deep. 😲 😬

I must say, I am quite pleased that we find ourselves facing the Americans. The Spaniards have been playing such an unpleasant, grating style lately—it’s a way of playing that simply never sat right with us, always finding a way to edge past us. But if the Americans happen to struggle a bit with their finishing today, and if they lean into that wild, cowboy-style play they showed earlier, I truly believe our boys will have a massive opportunity. This could be the perfect moment for a real upset... 😉

That being said, looking at the form they're showing at this World Cup, I have to offer my sincere congratulations; today was truly his win. The team seems to be finding its footing game after game, and honestly, a World Championship title feels closer now than it ever has before.

He actually reached out to those legends of American water polo during the New York City era—guys like Smodlaka, Hinic, Zdeja, and Barac... but they didn't bite, whether it was due to lingering injuries or simply because they weren't interested in enduring that grueling Rudicev training regimen, which, frankly, is absolutely brutal. This time around, they actually agreed to join him, and regardless of how one feels about it, I have to give it to him. 🙏
The odds on an American win are sitting at 1.50. 🙂

To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't touch that bet either. If I were looking for action, I’d much rather play the under, assuming they set the line somewhere around 15 or 16 goals. 😉
Bradley Ramos11 said:It’s just like how they rig tennis so that Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal don't face off until the very final match.
It really doesn't make any sense, does it? 🤣

It's the exact same way people claim things are rigged in soccer or handball, yet somehow those sports escape this particular scrutiny.
It truly lacks all logic. 🤣
Jesse Baker said:Well, in our league, things are decided based on certain coefficients, and the finals don't always follow a predictable pattern; I recall that three years ago, the finals ended up being Primorje-Partizan!😬

I was wondering, which channels do you all typically tune into for water polo? I mean, specifically for non-American matches and the networks that carry them.

It was actually that specific Primorje-Partizan final that I had in mind when I used the word "rare." 😬

As for me, I usually catch the Italian matches on ESPN, though that's really the extent of my viewing habits. 😉
Nathan Kern9 said:The Italians were holding onto a five-goal lead with just five seconds left on the clock in the second overtime period... then those Australians managed to pull even, and suddenly this masterclass from an Italian player—striking right from center field—clinched the victory for the guys from the Mediterranean...

Did you catch that absolute blunder by the Italian? A total Golmanov moment... He goes to secure the ball and it just slips straight through his hands like water. It was quite a turnaround, really; the Australians were actually leading 6:3 after the third quarter, yet the Italians managed to claw their way back with a 6:3 finish to force overtime. 😈

I find it rather frustrating how there is always this constant insistence that Mexicans and Canadians end up facing off in the finals, provided they top their respective groups. I can't help but wonder, why couldn't we see them meet in the semifinals for once?! 🙄
It’s the exact same pattern you see in our domestic cup competitions with teams like South and Youth. I suppose it is true that it rarely happens that they collide in the semifinals, but it is incredibly rare... If they met earlier, perhaps it would shake things up a bit and allow some other team a genuine chance to make it all the way to the championship game. 🙂
Ordering medication from overseas in Health ·
I wouldn't count on this passing through any kind of inspection without scrutiny. If you're ordering something online, there is always a slim chance it might slip through without being flagged by Customs, but one shouldn't hold their breath. Should the package happen to get stuck at the border, if an invoice was included with the shipment, the officials will simply calculate the duty and sales tax themselves, which you’ll then settle with the delivery driver when they arrive at your doorstep. However, if the sender neglected to include an invoice with the goods, you'll likely receive a notification from Customs stating that you need to provide the necessary documentation. In that scenario, it's usually quite simple—you can just fax them or bring over a copy of the receipt (even just a printout of your order confirmation email) so they have a basis to determine the taxes and duties. I can't say for certain, but I believe the duty rate for dietary supplements, including vitamins, sits around 5%. 😉
Eating in the ZONE in Health ·
Rachel Gonzalez9 said:Thanks, Steven Green2, so I suppose I could take at least four of these daily until I manage to track down some higher-quality options......

I really ought to spend some time looking into what our local pharmacies actually have in stock...

Taking four is perfectly fine when you're dealing with health food grade fish oil, though I wouldn't advise going any higher than that. It will certainly provide a positive boost to your health, but you simply won't reach the full potential offered by PhG fish oil.

If I recall correctly, you might find two different PhG fish oil products in our local drugstores. I know one is the Twinlab mega Twin ep, but I can't quite remember the other one. Honestly, they are incredibly overpriced; it’s much more sensible to just order them online. 😉

@ Morgan Wright

You hit the nail on the head! 👍 Personally, I tend to eat portions that are at least twice as large as what the zone nutrition guidelines prescribe, yet I stick strictly to the same underlying principles. I've always had a bit of a sensitive reaction to carbohydrates, so this specific way of eating works wonders for me. 😉

Rachel Gonzalez9 said:Oh, wonderful....

If I may ask....which fish oil are you using? What brand? I recently picked up some Natural Wealth...so I'm wondering, is that actually any good, or is there something superior you might suggest to me?

What kind of progress have you noticed regarding your weight?

I am quite pleased myself; when you stick to nutrition in zone, the mental focus is truly fantastic.....I simply find I have so much more energy and drive...

Of course, there are better options. 😉 Natural Wealth is a health food grade fish oil, and one single capsule only provides 0.3 g of active ingredients (180 mg EPA and 120 mg DHA). If you were hoping to reach a maintenance dose (2.5 g of EPA + DHA), you would have to swallow at least 8 of those capsules every single day. However, taking that many capsules would likely cause more harm than good. That is why "Omega RX in the zone" necessitates using a fish oil of pharmaceutical grade purity (meaning it has been thoroughly purified of toxins like PCBs, DDT, and organic mercury compounds).
The most budget-friendly option I managed to track down, which I personally use, is this one: http://www.wonderlabs.com/itemleft.php?itemnum=5442 I take 6 capsules daily, which brings me to 3 g of active ingredients (1800 mg EPA and 1200 mg DHA).
There is also this reasonably priced choice: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/pbl/omega.html.
The most vital thing is ensuring it carries the pharmaceutical grade (PhG) label.

As for me, I am actually gaining weight, which is precisely my intention. Nevertheless, my body fat has definitely decreased. The zone requires calorie restriction—around 1500 kcal per day—yet I end up consuming at least 3000 kcal daily. I eat seven meals a day, and every single one is "in the zone," except for that one meal after my workout when I intentionally "provoke" my insulin. On days when I don't exercise, I don't do that. I consume a mountain of vegetables every day, but in exchange, there are absolutely no starchy foods in my diet.👍

Well, here I am! 🙂

I’ve been following this general principle for nearly a year and a half now. To be perfectly honest, I don't stick to the "nutrition in zone" guidelines down to every single detail—one particular meal, usually the one right after my workout, tends to drift away from the zone, but everything else stays pretty much on track. I don't even bother with the strict calorie restrictions that the zone typically demands; in fact, I actually eat quite a bit more than that. And honestly? I feel absolutely phenomenal. For the last four months, I’ve specifically transitioned into the Omega RX zone, which is essentially the standard zone setup but with the addition of a higher dose of PhG fish oil. 👍

Alka said:Could someone please tell me how this medication (Avodart/dutasteride) performs when compared to Proscar?

It tends to be more effective. In both instances—whether you are looking at easing the symptoms of BPH or trying to slow down and halt hair loss—it holds an edge. Since it goes after both Type I and Type II 5-alpha reductase, whereas finasteride (Proscar) only targets Type II, the extra potency seems rather logical, doesn't it? A 0.5 mg dose can drop your blood DHT levels by over 90%. That said, it does come with a much steeper price tag, and we still lack those extensive, long-term studies that fully confirm its safety profile for extended use.😉

Sam Hughes5 said:The Zone diet? 😉

Well, not quite. I suppose I should say it’s more of an "enhanced" version of that. When people talk about the actual Zone diet, they usually insist on strict calorie restriction—something in the ballpark of 1,500 calories a day—whereas I, being perhaps a bit less disciplined in that specific regard, tend to consume well over double that amount. 😉

placidfox55 said:A person really ought to aim for getting less than 30% of their daily caloric intake from fats—which essentially means most of those calories should be coming from things like vegetables, whole grains, fruit, and lean meats or fish.
One definitely needs to be mindful about ensuring the fats being consumed are the "good" kind while steering clear of the "bad" ones, such as those derived from animal sources like pork, beef, chicken, or even certain types of farm-raised fish...

I suppose it all boils down to being an individual matter, really. Since I have always had a bit of a penchant for experimenting on myself—including my own nutritional habits—I find that I feel my absolute best when I structure my intake at roughly 40% protein, 30% fat, and 30% carbohydrates. Of course, this is all within the context of a maintenance diet totaling over 3,000 kcal a day, given some specific fitness goals I’ve set for myself. I don't personally react very well to heavy carbohydrate loads, so I tend to get mine from vegetables, fruit, and oats, whereas those other starchy foods you see sitting at the bottom of the USDA food pyramid don't really have any place in my diet at all. As for my fats, they are primarily sourced from olive, flaxseed, and fish oils; I usually land somewhere between 50 and 100 grams, though on certain days, I might even exceed 100 grams of fat 😍 . 😉

Where on earth are you getting these ideas about fat? Are you honestly suggesting that a healthy diet shouldn't include even a single gram of it? 🙄

_car said:Hey everyone, does anyone here have actual experience using Phytoaxil, Orinosol, or maybe things like Procter & Gamble or Regaine, or even Alpecin?..

I’ve been asking about all of these, but I just keep getting told to "just apply it," and frankly, I have no idea which one actually works best or which one I should even bother buying.

Well, it really all comes down to what kind of hair loss you're actually dealing with. If we are talking about androgenetic alopecia—you know, the standard pattern baldness—you really can't go wrong with a combination of Procter & Gamble and Regaine, though if you're looking to save a few bucks, a generic 5% Minoxidil usually does the trick just fine. There was quite a bit of discussion regarding this specific topic over on this thread: http://www.example-us-forum.com/showthread.php?t=126102 😉
