The three-finger sign isn't Mexican (it was stolen) in Close to Politics ·

Well, it's true—we certainly had our share of brutality back during WWII, and then things took a dark turn again in '95... people were forced out by the truckloads. All that's left now is the bitterness.🤣

Let's be honest—you have to admit there's a huge number of people from the rural South living here in Washington, D.C.—but they aren't any kind of religious outsiders.

Well son, since you brought up Bašagić—do you actually know who penned "Famous American Bosnjak and hercegovac"?

I mean, seriously, what even is an American Bosnjak?

As for Canada, there really are only three groups—the Americans, the Mexicans, and those who converted...

The V-sign for victory, the three-finger salute, and even the middle finger—they all share the same ancestral roots...

Back in 1415, during the bloody Battle of Agincourt, those outnumbered English longbowmen absolutely decimated the French forces. Legend says they mocked them afterward by flashing three fingers, two, or just the middle finger...

In fact, the middle finger—the *digitus infamis*—was already being used back in ancient Rome.

It seems like only the girls root for Ferrari these days...🤣

Thinking Alonso and Ford would only take fourth? That's just funny.

It would be much more realistic if we swapped Ferrari and Ford instead...🤣

Of course... it's all just marketing 😉

Alright, here are a few more predictions...

Rookie of the year: loneangler6
The eternal optimist: wearyraven41
The loneliest fan out there: Morgan Murphy7
The one who watches every single word: Feurfuchs
The most fanatic fan (aka the traitor of the year): Rinna, also known as Miha Mihaaaa—basically the desperate cry of a young romantic that I use as my ringtone 😬
The moderator living off past glory: Elizabeth Hughes
The moderator doing all the heavy lifting without being Blackbird: Sep
The moderator you never see: Blackbird
The biggest F1 expert among the beer drinkers: DMJ
The user we unfairly overlooked and failed to recognize: Sandra Turner22
The one who complains the most but gets a free pass: Crotomy
The most level-headed person on this board: urbanmoose3
The most underrated user: McCoy
The female user who sounds the sexiest despite us never having met her: FastAndFurious

So, looking ahead to next season, I’m predicting a lot of petty bickering, some greatly stupid and pointless debates, plenty of trolling and spam, a handful of intelligent insights, a swarm of various creeps, double standards, and more... it’s definitely going to be an interesting ride.

The standard protocol should always be to block everything by default, then selectively open only what's absolutely necessary. If you're just leaving the gates wide open, you might as well not have any security at all.

It’s basically like using a condom with a hole in it. 🤣

Microsoft's old Encarta used to have a world atlas...

Britannica has one too...

Well, that's a start, at least...

I'll have to check what we have access to at the office...

He kept them in there to show the scale—so we can actually grasp how massive that flag is—though, I suppose, he really could have trimmed them down a bit.😁

Zachary Evans23 said:Honestly—what is there even to say at this point? 🙂

Go, Montoya, go! Let's grab that 3rd place! 🙂

It’s just one of those things... since we already missed out on the main prize, we might as well take everything else on offer. We’ve got the fastest, most beautiful car on the grid, the Constructors' Championship is basically in the bag, and we could easily sweep up second and third overall too.

But tell me—does the Constructors' champion actually get to sport the number 1 on their nose next season?

If they say they do, I'm inclined to believe them...

Besides, that’s really the charm of being a McLaren fan—it hurts so much that when they finally pull it off, the relief is actually overwhelming. Take the Ferrari fans, for instance; they've been through so much heartbreak that they can't even feel joy when they win anymore... they only know how to feel the sting of losing.

Jacob Johnson70 said:I haven't checked the standings lately—do we actually have a shot at the Constructors' Championship?

We’re currently sitting in first place by just two points... honestly, if our physical condition holds up and stays solid, that title should be ours. 👍
