Paul Sanders5 said:Here comes the Corona, and now the panic is really gonna kick in 🙄

All those masks are being wasted, and honestly, they don't even do anything against the virus 🤣 Word is people are already hoarding food supplies.

Paul Sanders5 said:But seriously, how does that person even function in a country like that? Does he just have a personal translator following him around everywhere he goes? Or what? I don't get people. I'd personally deport him straight back to America.☕

So, how’d it go? Nowhere near great, honestly. When he first showed up, he landed a gig as a warehouse worker at our place, which was perfect because he didn't need to know a lick of English. He just communicated with the boss, who speaks American, so that was that. Once he finally clocked enough years to hit retirement—and yeah, he didn't exactly leave while he was still in his prime—he just retired and called it a day. Now, he hits the grocery store with his sons, hangs out with the family, and keeps in touch with a few other Americans who moved here around the same time they did. That’s pretty much the whole story. His kids, of course, roll their eyes at him because he’s "incapable" of learning any English, but he just doesn't give a damn. He’s old school, too. You know the drill: the wife does the cooking, and he just carries the bags after she decides what they're buying. That's the whole routine.

Larry Fox5 said:You seriously think the folks who arrived 40 years ago just "integrated" in five months? No way—it took them time, and it takes time for new migrants too. As if some migrant from some backwater part of Afghanistan is just going to settle into life in Hamburg in a single year...
Like you can just click a button and suddenly everything is perfect harmony.

A member of my extended family emigrated to Perth back in the nineties and even today he can barely grunt out two words of English. He just hangs out with "his own kind" and calls it a day. It's a personal choice. Then you've got others living in Canada who speak such flawless English you wouldn't even know if they were Canadian or not.

Paul Martinez73 said:I took a photo in front of Hajduk's crest—does that officially make me a Tovar? I’ve also got a shot from the museum standing next to the NAC Uniform, right by the memorial for the victims of the NAC regime... Am I a fascist or an anti-fascist? Honestly, I can't even tell anymore...
So, Davor Šuker was taking photos in front of Pavelic's grave... does that make him a Fascist?

Calling someone out based on a single photo without knowing the context is pretty reckless. It doesn't even matter for the performance itself, since I wasn't the one who built the puppets or set them on fire... I didn't even participate in that part. This whole thing affects an entire city.

The most intense part of this is that they’re supposedly burning a child and two gay men. No, let's be real—they're burning three dolls. Just two male dolls kissing and a doll of a child featuring Stazic's photo, which is clearly a jab implying it's an adult rather than a kid... But hey, you all just interpret everything however suits your own narrative anyway...

And who exactly are we supposed to be? I don't live in a small town like Imotski...

Look, I agree context matters, but that’s exactly why it’s obvious this guy is a wannabe Fascist. Despite all your attempts at playing both sides. Besides the fact that he’s posing proudly next to a swastika, his profile features a photo of the old NDH national soccer team doing the Fascist salute. On the flip side, there’s zero description or any other photos showing the opposing view to prove it's "just a joke"—like your little stunt in front of the Hajduk crest. Comparing that to a museum exhibit is a massive reach.

Paul Martinez73 said:So you think when you run out of actual arguments, you can just pivot to attacking someone's religious beliefs? Why on earth would you take it personally if I called you gay? Honestly, I just got the impression you were a homo, so if you want to label me a hetero, I really wouldn't be offended... 🤷
That's just who you are...

The way this "kid" tries to argue says everything you need to know about his intellect; it’s just people like him attempting to lecture others when they're clearly outclassed in any real debate...

Since when does burning a couple of effigies make someone a Fascist? Would you call me one if I torched two rats instead? It seems like you all crave equality so badly, yet you whine like little girls the second things get real... try showing some backbone for once. All this whining because Zoran Milanović hired an advisor who isn't a fan of certain extremists, and now everyone’s crying about effigies and calling people Fascists... honestly...

The guy was literally posing next to a swastika, and now you're asking me why it's not unfair to call him a fascist? 🤦 Honestly, it's wild how everyone here ignores the fact that besides two gay guys, a straight kid got burned too. What did those kids ever do to you? 🤷

Noah Roberts46 said:You can't wipe it out entirely, but you can definitely scale it back. There are endless reasons why terrorist attacks happen—we could talk about it until tomorrow. But ignoring it, or refusing to condemn such attacks and acknowledge the obvious problems, is simply unacceptable.

I agree with the other part of the post. Larry Fox5, you live in Germany, don't you? From what I gather. I have friends and family over there, and they tell me people struggle with certain segments of the Muslim population because they act like they're still in their home country and show zero interest in adapting to the local culture. To be clear, I'm not saying this applies to the majority of Muslims. What I'm getting at is that they seem to face much harder integration hurdles than, say, other minorities living in Europe.

I was in Brussels a few years ago, and they literally have entire neighborhoods where the police are powerless. You see two Muslims fighting in the street and nobody reacts, even with a cop standing just two meters away. People are sleeping on the streets in front of storefronts and leaving piles of trash everywhere. One of the most beautiful cities in Europe has turned into a literal dump. Is it the same in Germany?

Now look, I'm not saying the state should just lock the doors and ban Muslims from entering. Not at all—especially since I understand how difficult it is for people fleeing wars caused by the imperialist policies of certain nations. In my hometown (think a mid-sized US city), a few families from Syria were settled, and their integration into our society has begun. I saw an article about it recently, and honestly, I think it's great; I'm happy for them. My point is simple: if you're going to invite a massive influx of people from a different culture into your country, do it smarter. If necessary, do it in smaller, more organized waves. Integrate them into society instead of just dumping them into isolated enclaves where they live separately from everyone else. Make it planned and make it high-quality. Obviously, their culture is vastly different from ours, but ignoring everything and letting whatever happens happen just because it's "progressive" is fundamentally wrong and leads nowhere.

@wiredfalcon2

It's great that you have a crystal ball and somehow know exactly what my life looks like and how I think. Please, keep going—watching you squirm is pure entertainment.

Seriously, who isn't feeling the weight of terrorist attacks? Who’s actually ignoring them? You have no idea how much you're just talking nonsense. Like, everyone alive condemns terrorism in Europe. And then Noah comes along and goes, "well, we shouldn't refuse to condemn it." Give me a break.🤣

Larry Fox5 said:I'm talking about terrorism, obviously—the kind you can't ever truly wipe out because some lunatic rampage will always pop up somewhere, cyclically...

As for crime, you fix that with better economic prospects, actual schooling, and general social support. The easiest way to fight it is by cutting off the roots that let it grow in the first place.
It's easy for you to recruit an army of kids who'll turn into thieves and criminals later—they've got nothing to lose anyway. Poverty and a lack of future prospects are the main triggers and generators for crime...

With people like Noah Roberts46, the "diagnosis" is always the same—they want permission for themselves, but they sure as hell don't want anyone else having it. They think whatever they believe is the absolute truth, and if someone else disagrees, they're just wrong. He doesn't get that he can travel the world or work anywhere in the EU precisely because people who have nothing to do with him and hold totally different views will tolerate his "uniqueness," more or less. Honestly, I get the feeling Noah Roberts46 has never actually lived outside the US, so he hasn't felt what it's like to be a second-class citizen. It happens even in mild ways—like being treated as some lazy outsider who won't adapt to the local lifestyle and just wants to live off welfare, simply because you're from Eastern or Southeastern Europe. It's like how Britons view Poles, who are twenty-eight times more prevalent in the UK than refugees from the Middle East "causing the rise in terrorism." Plus, the Mayor of London is Muslim, so clearly, Noah Roberts46 doesn't love them any more than the actual residents of London do.

Paul Martinez73 said:I’m pretty sure some priest gave you a blessing by touching your stomach or something... I mean, how did you even manage to drag the Church into this debate? It’s obvious you ran out of actual arguments, so your boyfriend probably just suggested pivoting to religion since he’s clearly the brains of the operation.

We were talking about whether to release all performances or just select ones, and somehow you ended up spiraling into the Catholic Church’s real estate holdings and pedophilia scandals. At this point, one can only assume that you or your boyfriend had a seriously rough childhood...

Classic OP, two steps away from a total ad hominem attack. Typical move for people who can't think—when you run out of actual arguments, just start calling people names because you think it counts as an insult. 🤣

Look, kid, I don't care about banning cultural events. But if the guy running the show is pushing fascist ideology and posing next to a swastika, please, don't cry about it when someone calls him a fascist. That should be the bare minimum of decency. Either own being a fascist or stop whining like a little girl when someone calls you out on it.

Noah Roberts46 said:So basically, you don't know what's actually going on over there either, but you've decided I'm just talking trash because you haven't said anything useful yourself. Fine. Great.

If you were actually informed, you'd realize there are massive differences between individual states—both in lifestyle and local laws. I mean, surely you're aware that marijuana is legal in some states and not in others. Or that abortion is legal and easily accessible in some places, but not in others. And so on, and so forth...

Really? Thanks for that groundbreaking insight. Truly.

By generalizing "what's happening in the USA," you're proving you haven't the slightest clue about how things actually work in the States—how people live in specific states, what the local customs are, or what the actual local issues are. It's like concluding real estate prices are sky-high based on San Francisco, when you could buy a whole house in a small town in rural Wyoming for the price of a single balcony in San Francisco. Clear enough now?

This is such a ridiculous pivot. I was talking about extreme liberalism and the media outlets that fuel it. I'm talking about the narrative that is loudest simply because it comes out of Hollywood and holds the most powerful media platforms in the USA. I didn't say their opinion dictates everything—otherwise, as you pointed out, Trump wouldn't be president. I was mocking the hypocritical stances of these people who have clearly become exhausting to everyone, from late-night hosts and cancel culture to extreme versions of the "me too" movement, all the way to the hypocrisy seen in the NBA regarding China. It's precisely because these people have zero contact with the average person.

What you're doing is classic Great Britain "alt-right" logic—the "stop the thief" mentality. You're claiming that in a country where conservatives hold power, including the presidency and dominance in the Senate, in a country where gay partnership isn't even legal in many states, in a country where, for God's sake, Trump is president, you're telling me we "can't say anything anymore" because a "progressive minority rules and we're silenced."

More insinuations. Where did I ever say people aren't allowed to speak? Where did I say this minority is ruling? I only said they are the loudest, and I mocked the most extreme cases of liberalism. I don't know why this gets under your skin so much, but as usual, you've just dumped a pile of garbage here without answering the actual question. What exactly did I get wrong regarding those extreme liberals? Now I'll throw an insinuation back at you: you're clearly one of them, since a normal critique of this stuff seems to bother you so much.

Please, just tell me what you think about what Dr. Phil wrote. Does such a policy exist, and what's your take on it? Or what do you think about the situation in New York City, for example? Actually, don't bother. You'll probably just start rambling in a hundred different directions.

You can't claim "I didn't say that" when you clearly did. Look, you even got a quote where you're basically saying certain things shouldn't be talked about. It's just like in Europe, where there's this same wave of cultural shifting toward the right—you've got Orban, Marine Le Pen, and all those types, claiming "you can't say anything anymore."

And now we've reached the part where you claim Hollywood has the most media power, which is obviously wrong. The real heavy hitter is the conservative Rupert Murdoch, who owns almost all the major media outlets in the USA. Then you've got the Koch brothers, who fund everything under the sun—also conservatives. The bottom line is, you're just talking nonsense. And you're talking nonsense because you're bothered by some tiny minority. And you want to "silence" this minority. This minority of "extreme liberals."

Go ahead, walk into the US Embassy tomorrow and try to get a visa. When they start asking you for every single document imaginable, let me know how those "extreme liberals" are supposedly running the USA and threatening the "normal order."

Bottom line: you're just pulling these facts out of thin air.

Noah Roberts46 said:I don't use Facebook. I only use Reddit for sports and pop culture. Generally speaking, I have zero interest in meme culture, unlike you, apparently.

Do you actually live in the US? From what I can see, we're veering off-topic by speculating about where people get their information, what their political leanings are, where they reside, or what they need to know to grasp a situation. I'm asking you nicely: explain exactly what I wrote wrong instead of circling around the question of why I'm supposedly in the wrong.

Look, I don't live in the States, but neither do you. You’re just out here spouting nonsense under the guise of "Do you even know what's happening in the USA?" as if the whole country is just some tiny neighborhood in Cleveland rather than a massive federation of 50 distinct states and over 300 million people who don't all think or act the same. It's not like growing up in a place where half the population is Hispanic, or out in the sticks with the Amish, or in NYC or LA where you can walk down the street without getting harassed every two seconds. To lump all that together into one big "what's happening in the USA" category is a joke. If you actually knew anything, you'd realize how much things vary from state to state—both in terms of lifestyle and local laws. Like, surely even you realize that marijuana is totally fine in some states but strictly illegal in others. Or that abortion access is wide open in some places and practically impossible in others. It's not all one thing. Get it together.

Look, by generalizing "what's happening in the USA," you’re basically proving you don't have the slightest clue what's actually going on in this country. You clearly don't get how people live in different states, what the local vibes are, or even the specific issues hitting certain areas. It’s like trying to claim real estate is unaffordable just because you looked at prices in Miami, when you could head out to a small town in the Midwest and pick up a whole house for the price of a single balcony in Miami. Get it now?

What you’re peddling right here is just that classic Bretton Woods "alt-right" logic—that whole "they're silencing us" routine. It’s pure "catch the thief" nonsense. I mean, look around. We're living in a country where conservatives are running the show, holding both the White House and the Senate. We're in a place where, in half the states out there, even basic gay partnerships aren't legally recognized yet. And for God's sake, we have Trump in office. So don't come at me with this tired crap about how "you can't say anything anymore" because some "progressive minority" is supposedly running everything. Give me a break.

Look, I’m telling you right now, you’re just spewing baseless nonsense straight out of some alt-right fever dream. It's nothing more than bottom-tier internet trolling at this point. Seriously, go try applying for a US visa and see exactly how many background checks and hoops you have to jump through first. Then maybe you can come back and lecture me about how some progressive minority is running the show and letting everyone into the country without a second thought.
Paul Sanders5 said:Lol. In America, you can say whatever you want about the church and nothing happens to you. You can call out whoever you want, whenever you feel like it. And honestly? That’s just how a normal, healthy society should work in 2020.

In this country, any regular guy in some tiny town has more protection than those institutions because we're dealing with a corrupt system and a judicial mess.

You ever realize there are like 2,000 companies floating around in the US under HKC that aren't even subject to any actual oversight? It’s wild. And then you've got the church being the biggest property owner in the entire country. Honestly, all this talk about the church being "under threat" is just nonsense. It's like saying Real Madrid isn't allowed to win a title because of the USSF. Give me a break.
Paul Martinez73 said:Maybe you didn't get a look at those priest's bits when you were little, but clearly someone else did (your dad's, the neighbor's, or maybe just the dog's?). You definitely have some kind of psychological issue fueled by an insane amount of pure hatred.

Kids watching movies like 300 or shows like South Park and Family Guy on TV today, and somehow *that's* where the problem lies instead of people burning effigies... 🤣

Look, I actually agree with you on this one. The Church needs to be its own little sovereign state. Obviously, if some random creep is out there assaulting kids, he belongs in a federal prison. But if it's a priest? Well, the way things work here in America, they just shuffle him off to a different parish. The cops and the legal system shouldn't be poking their noses into church business, which is exactly why they don't mess with it here in the States. 🙂

Look, you wouldn't believe how much it actually matters where you live if you’re gonna act like an expert on a place. If you haven't spent at least three months there—six if you want to be taken seriously—you should probably just shut up. You’re just talking out of your ass based on some media bubble fed to you by people who think exactly like you do because you liked their posts on Facebook. I’m saying this as someone who’s actually lived outside the US. So, yeah, my guess is you just get your news from Reddit memes. Otherwise, you’d realize the vibe in Ohio is nothing like California, which has zero in common with Texas, which isn't anything like Indiana. And don't ever pull that "that's just how it is in the USA" crap; that's like taking some random situation in Gothenburg and claiming "that's just how it is in Europe." A problem in a neighborhood in Gothenburg has nothing to do with what's happening in Cambridge, Portugal. Not even getting started on the fact that you clearly have no clue which regions hate each other in Canada, let alone anything more complicated than that, especially since it's a tiny little country.

Noah Roberts46 said:I see nothing but manufactured outrage from a loud, tiny minority in the States. They’re more interested in barking about irrelevant nonsense just to satisfy some obsession with diversity and insane liberal extremes than actually addressing the points you made.

You clearly aren't paying attention to what’s actually happening in the States. Look, I’m not saying everyone is like this—that would be a tragedy—but there is a specific breed of hardcore liberal/feminist out there that makes me lose my mind. They’ll scream from the rooftops when someone else violates rights, but the second a Muslim commits the exact same offense? They suddenly vanish. They crawl into a hole and stay silent because speaking up would contradict their precious "progressive" principles. There isn't a soul among them willing to say anything negative about a minority group in their own country, even when they have every right to.

I have plenty of examples where Muslims arriving in the US... Another country. It’s obvious they have zero respect for local customs and just treat women exactly how they would back home. But apparently, we’re all supposed to look the other way because "it's their culture" and we have to be respectful. They shouldn't be expected to adapt to our way of life like everyone else does. We can joke about the Christian God all day long without anyone blinking, yet the moment someone says something against God, suddenly it's a matter of respecting cultural sensitivities. And I'm saying this as an agnostic. I really hope you aren't one of those people, because if you are, you're a complete joke. ☕

Regarding the last point, I have nothing against liberalism. In fact, I’m definitely more on the liberal side than the conservative side regarding most issues. However, what happened during Mardi Gras was completely unacceptable; I’m with urbanhawk17 on this one—the whole situation was idiotic and shouldn't be tolerated. What really grinds my gears, though, is the hypocrisy and the push toward extreme liberalism. Nothing is good when it drifts into extremes. What we are seeing unfolding across Western Europe, the US, and Canada is pure extremism. If there's any silver lining, I believe it's that this is just one loud minority rather than everyone, but that specific group is doing massive damage to the liberal movement as a whole. It’s glaringly obvious that the right wing is gaining ground globally—in the US, the UK, and various European states—precisely because of this extremist, frankly moronic politics. I hope nobody takes offense at that last part. ☕

Hey, where in the US do you actually live, or are you just getting your education on America through Reddit memes?

I mean, in a country where Trump is president, conservative feelings are supposedly under threat. Poor guys, they aren't even allowed to make a sound. Heaven forbid they elect a president who screams at everyone. It's just total dominance by a small, loud "woke" minority. The US is totally polarized.

Burning the effigy is supposed to burn away all the garbage in society to welcome spring. That’s the whole point of Mardi Gras. Obviously, in a place like Santa Barbara, everything bad is just one big gay couple. Everything else is actually thriving. It's a real shame for all those queers from Santa Barbara who had to sit through this, only to have their fellow citizens tell them they're "to blame for everything."

Plenty of questions—hardly any answers.

A gay person is a living being, just like any politician.
If something is deemed "accepted" or "normal" in this wasteland, we need to apply the same standard to everyone. You can't label one thing as normal and then criticize the other—that's nothing but hypocrisy.

Look, the guy chose to get into politics; nobody forced his hand. Besides, this is basically a ritualistic burning of someone representing "power," meant to show them they aren't invincible. A gay person didn't choose their orientation—they can't just quit being gay... etc.

It is absolutely hilarious watching liberals and feminists defend a culture that stands in total opposition to everything they claim to fight for. This is where their hypocrisy really hits its peak.

So, can you actually point to a single feminist defending a culture that treats women like second-class citizens? You can't. You're guessing, right? Nowhere. It's the exact opposite. What actually happens is they call out corporations and countries that play nice with problematic places like Saudi Arabia while putting on a big show for the public about fighting for human rights. Stop talking nonsense. Liberals aren't out here defending Muslim culture either; they're defending freedom of religion—as long as people follow the laws of the country they live in. So, in this whole little drama, you're the only joke here. ☕
