Go ahead and browse through some local optical shops and get some quotes. But I don't really get why you think they won't "work"... like, in terms of how you look? The thing is, non-prescription lenses can be any shape they want because they aren't tied to correcting a specific focal point within a sphere. It gives designers total freedom to mess around with all kinds of frame styles. With prescription glasses, you're pretty much stuck because of the lens geometry requirements... so if you actually want a specific look, my advice is to just pick out the frames you love and have the lenses custom-cut to fit them.

Well, looks like we’re gonna have to roll up our sleeves and build a living 😁 ourselves. They say even someone without a lick of training could pull it off 😘

So, how’d it all go down? I haven't really been keeping up with True Crime lately... 😉

Aha, I get it now! It’s not even about me personally, I just want to toss him into a garden purely for the hell of it. What's your deal anyway... you having some kind of bad run with women lately or something?🙂

I mean, I could seriously get a pet, or at least grab one of those garden gnomes that whistles whenever someone walks by, just to start things off...😁

Let me go on a quick little tangent here. You actually gave me an idea, so I spent today hunting through The Beatles and Walmart trying to find that whistling gnome, but they don't have it :-( Seriously, tell me where to find one! I'll give you one for free if you find it...

I heard there’s some kind of foreign site where people hang out and swap advice... I think it was something like Reddit?😁

Just kidding. Turn on the radio, air out your room, brew some coffee, and dive into a good book. Honestly, nothing beats just getting in the zone! I actually just wrapped up a massive study session myself, and now my brain won't shut up... I've gotten way too used to this night owl lifestyle... You looking for company or something?😉

placidjackal97: Look, I was just describing the effect I actually saw. I didn't say one single negative thing about her, not even once. I just dropped a little hint. And in my book, those two things aren't even remotely the same...

placidjackal97 said:Do you actually get how a microwave works? Like, what's happening to the food while it's heating up?

I mean, I think I have a handle on it, but I'll lay it all out just so you don't have to stress about whether it's messing with us from the inside out...

Honestly, I’ve never really gone down that rabbit hole. Come on, enlighten me!

I went through a million different options, honestly, and finally just pulled the trigger on some green-tinted 😎 (around 75%, if my memory serves me right). In the meantime, I tried out some non-prescription photochromic lenses and man, what a massive letdown. They barely even darken unless you're staring directly at the sun—like when I was driving my car... totally useless 😕

I wouldn't know for sure since I don't even use one at home, but I caught this wild scene at a local bakery earlier. This lady goes to pop some cheese pastries in a microwave that was sitting right on top of a computer monitor. Man, what a total light show that turned out to be! And now you guys can sit here and debate how much that stuff actually messes with us, both inside and out...

Man, I actually went and asked around on some alternative health forums too, and honestly? It’s the exact same deal as here—just a total split, maybe 50-50. But if I'm being real, I'm leaning way more toward the tinted ones... I mostly need them for my commute since I’m driving out east in the morning and then heading back west in the afternoon, so the glare is killer. Besides, I already have a pair specifically for walking around. Still haven't quite made up my mind though...

Hey everyone,

First off, sorry if I’m posting in the wrong sub, but this one felt like
the best fit for what's on my mind. Basically, I need to get myself some
new shades because wearing my regular prescription glasses out in the glare is just asking for trouble.
So, I wanted to pick your brains—what kind of frames should I look for if I want them to actually last?
I'm thinking about both standard prescription lenses and sunglasses. Also, what's the move on tinting?
Should I go with permanent tints or stick to photochromic lenses? And honestly, does anyone know where
I can get these done without getting absolutely robbed? Looking at the prices in some of the local
eyewear shops is giving me a massive headache... which makes me wonder if my eyesight
is already slipping away from the stress! :-)
