shadowmarlin15 said:Psychomodo isn't a seventies band; it's an album by Steve Harley's group, Cockney Rebel, from the seventies. You probably found the record in your attic and got your wires crossed.

whatever😁 😁 😁

jimmy jazz said:hehehe... The Beach Boys. Not even one of their songs is on that supposedly "number one" album. Some tracks are credited to others, while others just seem like they could be... well, you can imagine.😁 😁
It's just pathetic how much he ripped off Gobac. You clearly can't make anything of yourself in life. 😁 A grown man at his age and now he's stuck playing dress-up. 😁

Yeah, they copied everything—even the band name and Gobac's whole frontman vibe, the black eyeliner and all that.
The Beach Boys were actually a huge deal back in the 70s; I found some of their albums up in the attic recently. At first, I thought it was just a local group, but then I realized it was some Americans from New Orleans (you'd expect country music from there, not gothic metal 😲).
The frontman is a total spit in Gobac's face, especially with that eyeliner routine.

Ah, long live originality!
Gremlins in Movies ·
I have no idea who decided to put this on the schedule, but these Gremlin movies are nothing short of tragic... either the executives at PBS dropped the ball, or the problem lies entirely with me. I suspect it's the former.
Sundance Film Festival 2004 in Movies ·
Look, I have nothing against the Sundance Film Festival. I’ve actually attended several times over the years, and I don't have any issue with filmmakers, whether they are local or from abroad,

BUT;

It is completely unacceptable that they chose to broadcast the Sundance Film Festival on TV instead of "100 Most Shocking Moments in Rock 'n' Roll."

This is just too much.🙂

Carol Long95 said:Honestly, I think Lolita is Kubrick's worst work.

I am not sure if you have seen Clockwork Orange; it is also directed by Kubrick and it is unsettling. Not because of the plot, but due to the technical quality.
Aynway, without going OT Lolita, it is an okay movie, though I have seen better. Thank Zeus, at least it lacked those creepy, horrific musical scores found in something like radiation.

Chloe Ramos7 said:Rock is the only way to go for a party. You can't fail with it. Most people love it. And if someone claims they don't like rock, they just have to endure a little bit until they've had enough to drink—because once you're buzzed, you won't care about the music anymore anyway.😁 😳 😁

What else is there to say? I sign off on this completely.
Just ubacisti some The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, or Joplin. Throw in the Bee Gees, Jackson, and Bowie here and there, and the music dilemma is solved.
😁 😁 😁

You simply cannot go wrong with Led Zeppelin. I suggest sticking to the first four albums—Led Zeppelin I, II, III, and IV—along with Physical Graffiti, Houses of the Holy, and the BBC Sessions.

The best tracks for a mood boost:

Communication Breakdown
Over The Hills and Far Away
Rock and Roll
Black Dog
Immigrant Song

Cripple said:Rock will never die... just like the classics... therefore, rock is a classic.😁

These electronic thugs rotating through the charts every five minutes will vanish... along with techno, EDM, and all that rap garbage you people listen to.

Signed, sealed, delivered. :-)))
The first smart and constructive post I've seen here. :-)) woohoo!

Exactly... classics... look at it this way:
In twenty years, nobody will remember who Linkin Park was, or some random Limp Bizkit, or heaven forbid Britney Spears, but everyone will still know The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, or The Rolling Stones.
And why?
Because they were the pioneers of the rock subculture, and you know that old saying... the first ones are always remembered.
That's precisely the point.
Most of today's bands that actually have merit are built on those foundations—unlike, say, Lenny Kravitz, who basically lifted 90% of Hendrix's riffs and 5% of Page's and now acts like he reinvented the wheel.
Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean in Movies ·
Honestly, Depp is a total disaster, the guy is completely unhinged... but he's brilliant.
He takes on some wild roles; I'll admit his part in Pirates of the Caribbean was a joke, but for me, he’s at his best in "Sanjiv Dolina".

Drew Young10 said:Man, what a masterpiece. Seriously.
How can you even ask if you should watch it? If you’ve heard of the director, you should know the deal. I assume you don't usually put this much thought into your watchlist anyway.

Of course I've heard of it. Every single person I ask about their absolute favorite movie mentions Velvet 99% of the time. I'm just skeptical because I've seen too many movies labeled "masterpieces" that turned out to be mediocre. I love Lynch too, though—I'd say Wild at Heart is a standout.🙂)

Drew Young10 said:If you can find the soundtrack, grab it. It’s incredible, just like most of his films.

I will. And isn't Wicked Game by Chris Isaak on that soundtrack?

Has anyone actually seen this? What’s the verdict—is it even worth my time?
Generally speaking, Lynch's work is alright, but I haven't caught Velvet yet, so I'm questioning if there's any point in watching...
