It’s been a minute since my last post, but I just have one quick observation to make... decaf coffee still actually has caffeine!!!!! (okay, maybe about a quarter of the usual amount)...
Coffee is basically a wrecking ball for the human body. Honestly, I'd bet a huge chunk of the health issues people deal with today are indirect consequences of it, and most folks don't even realize it. We're talking ulcers, gastritis, bloating, jitters, night sweats, headaches, insomnia—it all just ramps up the effects of stress and stuff like that...
For me, it's pretty simple: if I drink coffee, I can go days without sleeping. My brain hits 110% capacity, and when I finally do crash, it's this weird, half-conscious stupor where my limbs feel all twitchy throughout the night. And the sweating? I’ll soak through my shirt so badly during the day that the sweat stains spread from my armpits all the way down to my chest...
As for those "doctors" who prescribe you mania or other made-up nonsense—and yeah, in case you didn't know, being "overly sensitive" is now labeled a mental disorder that requires medication—they should honestly have their licenses revoked and be thrown in jail.
Where I work (doesn't matter where, really), I see plenty of people whose lives have been ruined by doctors who just follow a textbook without an ounce of common sense or actual empathy for the situation. That’s why, whenever you go to a doctor, you absolutely need to get a second opinion. Otherwise, you might end up with some MD telling you to strictly avoid olive oil because it could cause heart complications (which is a total lie). In my own family, doctors have already caused one death, so you really have to watch who you trust with your life...
In every industry, including this one, there are genuine talents out there, but let's be real—there are way too many of the "lesser" talented types hanging around...

Yeah, please—send over the link to your Facebook page so I can actually listen to you guys!

Based out of Miami.

If you guys actually posted yourselves on YouTube, I have to say—it’s always a little refreshing to see a woman picking up an instrument. Not trying to be rude or anything! Just an observation.👍

just melodies and compositions—total garbage 😕

Jason Chavez32 said:So, it’s great that your friend sees everything in technicolor, but that could also just be synesthesia—you know, a neurological quirk where your brain can't decide if it's seeing or hearing something.😲

Are you guys having some kind of coded conversation or what? 🤷What the hell does "atoll color" even mean?

Look, it's not like the guy is walking into walls because he's blinded by all those colors—he's just "seeing" them on some subconscious level. And apparently, when he tries to fly, he can't even sleep because he’s constantly hearing symphonies playing in his head. It happens mostly when he overdoes it on the music—listening to maybe 20 different tracks back-to-back, ranging from classical to 40s swing (even though he doesn't actually listen to that stuff)—and they're perfectly composed, note for note, with multiple instruments. Honestly, it sounds impossible to me, and I'm not sure I even buy it, but that's just the way it is. Either way, tomorrow comes too fast, so none of it really matters.
As for the secret code talk... how did you even stumble onto that thought? You're basically casting doubt on yourself here.

Sophia Diaz15 said:You can definitely train your ear over time, but perfect pitch? That’s a different story entirely... I've been living and breathing music my whole life—went through music school, now I'm playing in a band. I actually taught myself guitar, and I can usually pick up any song in about two minutes and nail all the harmonies perfectly. Honestly, a single wrong note drives me crazy, but I wouldn't go so far as to claim I have perfect pitch. People who actually have that are incredibly rare...😉😉

Where are you based? And what kind of band are you playing in?

Are these "visions" purely subjective, or would an absolutist argue these colors are primary? I’m asking because a friend of mine claims he sees every song in specific colors. For instance, when it comes to Hendrix, he sees Purple Haze as this blackish-gray metallic vibe where purple still dominates. Then there's Red House, Bleeding Heart, and Angel—which he sees as various shades of red. He also associates Beethoven’s Für Elise with colors of pure clarity—white and a very pale green, almost like an atoll, but much brighter and cleaner—though the longer versions feel a bit more somber to him.
There are plenty more, but I can't list them all right now.

I transcribe all sorts of stuff—it doesn't take me long, really—but it depends on what I'm working on. If it's some complex movement or just something straightforward... you know what I mean?

Give this song a listen. Tell me if you can pick out any primary colors or which tones are dominating (if that even makes sense!?).

Hello? Is anyone actually out there?

Michelle Cook83 said:Look, I’ve got perfect pitch, but honestly, I don't really "hear" things clearly until I strike something first. You get me?
It gets even weirder—I'll whack an umbrella against a lamppost and go, "That's a C2!" It just makes a noise, sure, but it resonates at certain frequencies, allowing me to pin down its exact spot on the spectrum. A little morbid, I guess, but hey, it is what it is. My head actually throbs when I'm around people who can't stay in tune. It’s pure torture...

Michelle Cook83, you're sounding pretty convincing to me. What about colors? Does that happen to you too?
Can you actually transcribe music perfectly just by listening? How long does it take you?
Perfect Pitch in Music ·
I get all that—really, I do—but there’s one thing that just won't click for me. When someone with perfect pitch hears a chord, are they actually hearing every individual note within it? And do they see those sounds as colors (I think I read somewhere that's a real thing)? Like, does the whole song take on a specific primary hue? Hendrix once mentioned he basically builds his letters based on "color" when people were digging into how he structures his songwriting. It makes me wonder... how does that sense of hearing manifest outside of music? Is it just everything, all dialed up to eleven?

Charles Parker36 said:I actually have it. I can probably guess the frequencies without even picking up a meter—ha.

Do I know anything about harmony? Honestly, I’ve picked up a thing or two—though "knowing" is a pretty strong word when you consider how much of music theory is just people making rules after the fact to sound smart. It's all just layers and tension, really. If you want to get into the weeds of it, I can talk, but don't expect me to start singing like some Broadway star.

I'm about to post something that isn't going to go over well:

Who among you actually HAS it?
And please—spare me the "I've experienced this a million times" comments. If I want to learn anything about total deafness, I need to hear from someone speaking from actual experience.
Which actors have let you down? in Movies ·
I spent yesterday watching "1984," based on that George Orwell novel. Honestly, I don't think a movie version should have ever been made—the book is just too complex to condense, though that doesn't necessarily mean the film itself is bad. It’s just that a MASSIVE amount of material was left on the cutting room floor. Just... massive.

Tom Cruise has completely lost the plot. He just doesn't get it anymore.
