I was scrolling through my feed today and realized that another one of those massive singing competitions just got greenlit for another season. It honestly feels like these shows have been running forever. I remember staying up late as a kid to watch the finales, feeling like everyone in the country was tuned into the same thing, but nowadays it feels like a different vibe entirely.
It’s hard to tell if people are actually watching for the talent or if it’s just background noise while they scroll through their phones. I feel like we've reached a point of total saturation with "searching for the next big star" reality shows. Every few years, a new format pops up, but the cycle always seems to repeat itself.
I wonder if the "magic" of these shows is truly gone, or if we just crave that kind of spectacle more than we admit. Do you guys still find these talent searches entertaining, or have you moved on to other things?
