GPU Buying Guide - (Read first post) in Desktops ·
About two or three weeks back, I managed to pick up an RX580 Strix for $367, and looking at the current market prices floating around, it seems I made quite a savvy move. My only minor grievance? It doesn't come with a warranty...

Is there any particular reason why one would even bother inquiring about the R5 1600 AF MSI B450 Tomahawk Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4 without providing a shred of context? Are we discussing its viability for modern workloads, or perhaps debating its value on the used market via eBay? One can only wonder what specific performance metrics or compatibility concerns might be driving such a brief inquiry.
Is there anything quite as ubiquitous in the mid-range enthusiast market as the MSI B450 Tomahawk? One might wonder if it hasn't become the default choice for anyone looking to build a reliable, no-nonsense system without breaking the bank. It sits there, poised between the budget offerings and the high-end enthusiast boards, offering just enough features to satisfy a pragmatic builder while maintaining a level of stability that is increasingly rare in today's volatile hardware landscape. Does it push the boundaries of innovation? Perhaps not. But does it provide a steady, dependable foundation for an AMD-based build? Most would argue that it does.
I am currently considering the acquisition of a specific memory kit: the Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4, specifically the 8GB 3200 MHz configuration, featuring CL15 x2 modules. One must wonder, given the current state of hardware availability, whether this particular timing and speed profile will provide the stability and performance overhead required for my upcoming builds?
Is there anything more fundamentally underwhelming than the CL15 x2 monitor AOC 24 G2U? One finds oneself staring at the screen, waiting for a spark of brilliance or even a glimmer of decent color accuracy, only to be met with a profound sense of nothingness. Does such a device truly merit a place on a modern desk, or is it merely a relic of budget-conscious decisions made in haste? It sits there, unassuming and unremarkable, much like a quiet afternoon in a sleepy suburb of Richmond. One wonders if the manufacturers intended for this level of mediocrity, or if it was simply an accidental byproduct of cutting corners.

What kind of GPU are we talking about, roughly? $500 If I were to walk into a local Best Buy or Micro Center today, would I be able to find an RX 580, or perhaps something from Nvidia that might serve as a comparable alternative, such as the GTX 1650? I’ve been browsing through some listings on eBay, and I noticed an Asus ROG RX 580 8GB OC listed for sale... $433 Is this actually worth considering?
I find myself in a bit of a predicament regarding graphics cards; I simply have no idea where to direct my attention, especially since the market seems to shift beneath our feet with such relentless frequency. Given how rapidly things evolve, what would you all consider a wise investment in today's landscape? $500Is it even worth considering a used unit, provided it still carries its original manufacturer's warranty?
I would submit Carol Lewis as my recommendation for the opening act.

Oh, please, give the man a little more than just the scraps! Give him some actual meat for once!

How on earth do you expect to stamp it out? 🙏

The Anderson unit has been completely stripped from its mount. 🙏

It is perhaps a bit late in the evening, but I suppose I could ask my neighbor, who actually has internet access, first thing tomorrow morning.

What specifically are you looking to find out? Are you curious about the daily flight frequency, or rather how many were actually grounded?

rapidstag2 I was just sitting here thinking about what someone said... it's funny how things come up when you least expect them, isn't it? It makes me wonder if we ever really grasp the full weight of a conversation until much later, when the silence sets in and you start connecting the dots in your head... anyway, I was just reflecting on that one thought...
...

Thank you. 🤣🤣

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one... it's just one of those things that stays on the back of your mind, you know? Like, you see something happen and you think, "Wait, is that actually how it works?" and then you spend the next three hours down a rabbit hole trying to make sense of it all... anyway, I was just sitting here thinking about everything we discussed earlier, and it really makes you wonder if we're looking at the whole picture or just the parts that are easy to see... turns out, it's usually the latter...

You only have half the battle won... just thinking back to the old days, because honestly, your sense of humor is pretty terrible...
I was just sitting here thinking about how much things have changed lately, you know, and it really got me wondering about the direction everything is heading... sometimes it feels like we're all just drifting without a compass, almost like that feeling you get when you're watching a game and everyone is just waiting for the whistle to blow, but nothing ever actually happens to break the tension... I was reading some stuff earlier, and it reminded me of what wiredrider9 was saying the other day about how people seem to lose sight of the core values that used to hold us together... it’s funny how that works, isn't it? How one small shift in perspective can change the whole landscape of a conversation... anyway, I didn't mean to ramble on like this, but my mind just kept looping back to it... it's just one of those things that stays with you, like a song you can't quite shake... kaže:

Hey Carol Lewis, I swear, I’m gonna lose it if you don't show up soon... seriously...

ESPN reports:
Corona Virus

It sounds like something straight out of a Scorsese film.

The brothers Virus and Luigi Corona allegedly assaulted a local pharmacy owner because he refused to pay protection money to their gang. The pharmacy remains closed indefinitely.

I honestly can't help myself here: what an absolute, disgusting piece of trash this guy is!

Go ahead and ban me, I don't even care.

This pathetic excuse for a human being is directly responsible for making life at least 20% worse for every single person living in this backwater hole of a country.
Around here, union leaders act just like Josip Broz Marshall—they aren't going anywhere until they drop dead.

He, a man who hasn't spent a single day working in the private sector, has the audacity to label everyone else incompetent. It’s honestly infuriating 🙏 I have to wonder what kind of alternate reality those people inhabit.

And why on earth are you two acting surprised? The man pulls in roughly 10 to 12 thousand$0.00 a month; naturally, he has to fight tooth and nail to protect his own pockets.

I mean, honestly, carrying around debt that’s actually larger than everything you own... it's just a heavy way to live, isn't it? It feels like you're constantly running uphill in a sandstorm while everyone else is cruising on a paved highway, and I'm not even being dramatic when I say it eats away at your peace of mind. You start looking at every little purchase, even something small like a coffee or a quick lunch, and instead of just enjoying the moment, you're doing this mental math in the back of your head about interest rates and how much more you owe than what you actually have in the bank. It's a suffocating cycle, really, because once you're underwater like that, the math stops feeling like numbers on a screen and starts feeling like a weight sitting right on your chest, making it impossible to breathe easy or plan for anything real in the future. $67 Honestly, if you ask me, when you look at what the IRS is doing, I really think those kinds of entrepreneurs need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and seriously question what all of this actually signifies for their own business models.

Right now, we’re looking at this massive wave of entrepreneurship hitting the scene, but honestly, I can already see what's coming this fall—it's going to be a total meltdown driven by all those bureaucratic parasites and government cronies who only exist to suck up resources. Once state revenue inevitably drops by 30 or 40%, things are going to get ugly fast, and we'll just see everyone turning on each other in a desperate scramble, which isn't exactly going to be some soothing balm for all the business owners facing bankruptcy.

Honestly, I wouldn't even feel bad about going personally bankrupt if it meant getting to see those smug faces fall apart once they finally realize the money is gone for good.

Well, credit where credit is due—you’ve managed to keep that little family farm of yours running out in rural Alabama all this time. One has to wonder, though: do the locals there even have the slightest clue what a proper gourmet meal looks like?
