I’m starting to give more thought to the idea that kids just aren't my thing. I mean, they're adorable and all—I'll definitely have my "aww" moments—but I'm honestly not sure I want to commit to that lifestyle. It feels like it might be a bit too much work.
It’s almost as if your job doesn't chain you down enough; then you go and find someone to keep you tethered for the rest of your life. To me, it sounds like some poorly designed government mandate. 🤷

True.
I suppose he claims his average is a 6 because he's influenced by IMDb ratings. It’s true that movies rated a 5 on IMDb are often quite poor, whereas those at a 6 actually feel mediocre. However, I suspect this has everything to do with who is voting and why they choose a 10—and the same applies to those giving a 1. This creates a situation where his "average" ends up being a 6, just like everyone else's. Therefore, one can't really argue about what constitutes an "average" based purely on IMDb standards. I don't think anyone should be judged for saying the average is 5 when someone else insists it's 6.🤣
Regarding the forum itself... the average is half. That seems logical, I guess.😁

I don't think I need to rethink anything; as I mentioned, I haven't even seen the movie. And I'm not a fan of those blockbusters either; they seem to rely far too heavily on special effects to mask thin plots. I much prefer trashy cinema.
It seems you've been mistaken so far. About everything, really. And I've only read two posts from you. Now I'm tempted to go through everyone else's comments just to calculate a real average.
That was sarcasm, if it wasn't obvious.
😛

Sure, there are average movies out there, but they aren't exactly flooding the market. A recent example I'd personally label as the definition of "average" would be "A Most Wanted Man," which I'd give a 6/10. Even though those types of films exist, they certainly aren't as common as people make them out to be. They just aren't!
She—and now you, too—really needs to sort out her perspective. Either you possess such an incredibly precious, elite taste in cinema that you refuse to let your palate be tainted by anything even remotely mediocre, or you're just being dramatic, considering the sheer volume of actual garbage produced compared to the rare "average" film.🙏

casualtrucker3 said:Look, the movie is garbage; I have no idea what you were watching. First you call it mediocre, then you say people can just skip it entirely, yet you still hand it a 5/10? Just pick a side already.
btw, The Walking Dead? Hobbit? Peter Pan? What are we even talking about here?
I didn't catch the film myself, but I suppose what she said makes perfect sense. She calls it mediocre and gives it a 5/10, which is right in the middle—if we aren't going to bring a bell curve into this 😁—and finally suggests it can be bypassed, simply because there is an endless supply of mediocre movies out there. So, why not?
I suppose people prefer series because their longer runtimes allow for more nuanced character development and better writing. Personally, whenever I finally wrap up a long-running show, I’m left with this strange sense of emptiness. It’s as if something is missing, and I'm just left wandering aimlessly. My entire existence felt complete once I finished 🤣

.. at least until I stumble upon 😁

Well, this is a great topic. I struggle with this constantly!! 😁
Basically, I’m far too helpful and accommodating. I tend to feel bad when I see someone struggling with something that I know I could handle much more easily, so I often just take over. Or if someone lacks a ride and I have my car ready to go, I figure, why not give them a lift? The issue arises once people get used to it. You offer them a finger, and they demand the whole hand. I usually tolerate it for a while, thinking maybe things will improve. They rarely do. Eventually, I just snap, tell them exactly how pathetic they're being, and cut them off.
Most people seem to be this way. Then there are the people I've known for a long time—those I try not to be overly helpful toward, or those I don't know well enough to bother with—who look at me like something is clearly wrong with my head because I occasionally lose it on people. I'll drive a friend somewhere and then end up snapping at them; imagine that. God help me. I honestly can't tell who the crazy one is here.
The other day, I was getting off a subway train and there was an inspector on board. A girl stepped on, and I stood next to her for just a second and whispered that the inspector was there, AND SHE LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS TRASH. As if I had any right to assume she didn't have a pass or wasn't a decent citizen of Washington, D.C.
And whenever I mention that I despise society and people, I'm labeled as conceited. It's probably because people find themselves described in my posts.
