My GP wouldn't even write me a referral for coagulation tests, which are probably the most important part of this whole thing. I guess since private doctors can't issue those types of referrals, you're kind of stuck. My insurance-based OBGYN actually gave me a referral even though a private specialist was the one who originally suggested the tests; he didn't really ask many questions about it, so maybe I just got lucky, because I imagine getting that kind of paperwork isn't always that easy. So, I suppose your best bet might be to just check in with an OBGYN covered by your insurance.

Yeah, it’s prescription-only, and you really ought to have a serious talk with your doctor if you’re thinking about going down that road. You’ll definitely need to get some blood work done first, regardless. 🙂

It’s possible it could slip out; he’s on the smaller side, and honestly, it actually happened to me once during my first time with him. I suppose I have no idea how he even managed to slip out like that, especially since it hasn't really happened again. 🤷 As for actually having it removed, I honestly don't see much point in bothering. It’s so subtle that you pretty much forget it's even there after a while.

Look, I’m certainly no medical expert, so I shouldn't be making any definitive calls here, but I suppose there’s always that inherent risk of thrombosis to consider. That said, both my private doctor and my insurance provider mentioned that I don't actually need to keep monitoring my blood counts while on it—unlike when you're taking birth control pills—since all my initial lab results were perfectly fine before I started. I went ahead and got the tests done anyway, though, mostly just because I tend to panic a bit about these things. 😁

I'm not sure what's so wrong with making contraceptive methods as simple as possible for people.🤷 Besides, not everyone uses the ring just because it's easy. Some women can't take oral contraceptives due to liver issues, and others find that the ring works much better for them since they suffer from migraines as a side effect of the pill. Not to mention the lower risk of blood clots. I really don't think there's anything inherently bad about the ring; I suspect people just hold onto certain prejudices when it comes to newer options.

I’ve been using the NuvaRing for about seven months now, but after chatting things over with my OBGYN today, I decided it was finally time to stop. Honestly, I was pretty happy with it—it’s just so convenient since you don't have to think about it at all, it doesn't interfere with sex, and I didn't think I was experiencing any side effects. At least, that’s what I assumed 😁 but lately, I’ve been dealing with some painful intercourse, almost like there’s a small scratch or lesion inside. After going through a whole battery of tests to make sure everything was fine, my doctor concluded that the ring was actually the culprit; apparently, it made my vaginal lining hypersensitive, which is causing the discomfort. He mentioned that this kind of thing can be a side effect of various types of hormonal birth control, though it isn't exactly common.
I suppose people shouldn't be too quick to judge this method of contraception, as it feels much more seamless than taking daily pills or using a patch. Just because I ended up having a side effect doesn't necessarily mean you will 😉

I suppose I should just mention that the subforum feels completely cluttered now; the landing page has lost its purpose entirely, and the whole thing just feels incredibly chaotic. It used to be perfectly organized, and everyone could navigate it without any real trouble. To the admins, I guess calling this a "reform" doesn't really align with how messy this new layout actually turned out.

As for those items over at Walmart, I'm thinking they might be made of cotton, though I can't say for certain... they were sitting on the side shelves in the cosmetics section, right next to all that other stuff like makeup brushes and things like that. I didn't actually spot them out in the main plaza area, just downtown... though maybe they have them at the plaza too, I suppose...

I spotted some masks over at Walmart for about $5.25, but I don't know, they seemed a bit oversized to me; then again, a friend of mine uses this one from Cosmo and swears it’s incredibly soft and comfortable...
