Since the admins probably aren't even looking at this anymore, what's the point? ovu I’m starting a new thread regarding the Temu situation over at Estée Lauder. I’ve decided to consolidate my questions here because they are constantly being asked on that other thread anyway, and frankly, it's getting repetitive. I am sincerely requesting that one of the admins actually steps up and provides some real answers to these inquiries.

I suppose I can understand if anyone felt that such a move was absolutely necessary. Something? Is that all we have to work with here? A single, solitary word tossed into the void like a scrap of paper in a hurricane? What exactly are we supposed to do with "something"? Are we meant to ponder the infinite possibilities of existence, or is this just some cryptic test of my patience? One wonders if there is any substance behind such brevity, or if we are simply drifting through this digital space without a compass. Truly, what is the point? That PDF will eventually be implemented, sure. But I truly cannot wrap my head around those so-called "arguments" Desiree put forward. How exactly are they supposed to justify this entire "reform"?

The editorial board isn't exactly thrilled about that Estée Lauder PDF—you know, the one consisting of seven separate files—and frankly, I can't say I blame them. It’s a mess. But what really gets me is that they actually went as far as to conclude the following:

Desiree said:The editorial board isn't exactly thrilled with how things are looking right now. Why? Because let’s face it: the subforum has become an absolute mess to navigate. The front page? It’s lost its purpose entirely. Those smaller subforums have shrunk to the point of insignificance, and the whole setup feels incredibly insular—almost like we're shouting into a vacuum. Does any of this actually make sense anymore?

On what exactly are you basing this conclusion regarding Estée Lauder? What is the underlying logic behind such an assertion? Is there any actual substance to this claim, or are we simply drifting through baseless speculation? Is there anything more exhausting than this? A complete and utter lack of order. Everything is just... scattered. Unorganized. It’s a chaotic mess, isn't it? One can hardly find a single coherent thought amidst all this clutter. Does anyone actually intend to fix this, or are we simply meant to wander through this disarray forever? And how exactly did the cover of that PDF lose all sense of purpose?! 😕 Who even says that? Is it you admins? Honestly, did you all just sit around and churn out ten posts yourselves?

Desiree goes on to point out how Alternative, the Economy, and Ford—each boasting three to five subforums—have significantly more threads than a single Estée Lauder section. However, she conveniently forgets to mention the actual post counts, which would paint a much different picture:

Desiree said:Alternative (with about 1,850 total threads), Economy (roughly 4,500 threads), and Ford (sitting at around 19,500 threads) all maintain between three and five subforums. Estée Lauder, which has roughly 800 threads, used to have seven. Too many, wouldn't you agree? Most of those subforums were hovering around sixty or seventy threads apiece.

And just how much can we actually say about the popularity of each subforum if we take a look at the raw post counts?

Alternative - 243,255 posts
Economy - 214,590 posts
Cars - 457,382 posts
Estée Lauder — 477,062 posts

And finally, one last thing: why on earth was this only done now? Why wait until this exact moment to take action? Was it after the moderators... Is there truly nothing left? Is everything we touch destined to be draped in that saccharine, "angelic" veneer? I find myself wondering if any substance remains beneath the surface of this relentless, sugary perfectionism. Can we not have one moment, one thought, one existence that isn't sanitized by such nauseatingly pure imagery? Give me grit. Give me something raw, something flawed, something decidedly un-angelic. Anything else is just a hollow facade. i Just a Girl So, they’ve gone ahead and rearranged all the subforums, compiled lists of topics, merged duplicates, and whatnot? Is that really how this works now? Couldn't they have just handled all that organization back when the forums were first selected, rather than waiting until they started shuffling everything around like this? Honestly, what a fantastic service you've provided them. Truly impeccable work. 👍
Seriously, why on earth is the "Estée Lauder" PDF suddenly such a massive thorn in everyone's side right now? I mean, really? When you were all busy spinning up those brand-new subforums, wasn't the official word that we shouldn't be locking things down because it was unnecessary? So what changed? What exactly prompted this sudden shift in policy? 😕

And yeah, this really is the last one: what on earth? Is there any point in even attempting to engage with this? Is anyone actually listening? I find myself staring at these endless, repetitive threads, wondering if we are all just circling the drain together. Does anyone truly believe that anything changes? It feels like we are all just shouting into a void, waiting for an echo that will never come. Why bother? Why do we continue to dissect these trivialities when the foundation is already crumbling beneath our feet? It is exhausting. Truly, deeply exhausting. i Samantha So, they’re running the show over at Estée Lauder as moderators? Really? When neither one of them has contributed a single constructive thought to that entire subforum? And honestly, let's go even further—they aren't even active on that board to begin with! What is this, some kind of lifetime appointment based on vague "merit" or special favors at a major US web portal? Does anyone actually believe that logic? 🙄

I’m just going to restate what I said over in that other thread—basically, if the admins actually gave a damn about the community, they wouldn't be pulling this kind of stunt. A forum doesn't exist without its users, period. If they cared, they’d be consulting us before making sweeping changes instead of just acting unilaterally. Honestly, it would be a much smarter use of their time to focus on fixing the server issues rather than actively dismantling something that was working perfectly fine. The way this is being handled makes it pretty obvious they have no idea what they're doing—it’s like they’ve never even looked at Estée Lauder in their lives. It feels like they're just following someone else's orders, and frankly, those orders are terrible. 👎👎

Look, just like I said in that other thread, this whole "reform" mess only started because someone opened a topic here on the forum following that massive blowout over at Chicken Man. When you're a mod and you've got an admin holding your hand and keeping things strictly under control, anything can happen—and clearly, that’s exactly what we’re seeing play out right here.

I mean, who else is getting fed up around here? And yeah, maybe Estée Lauder is a bit hard to navigate, but the real issue is that nobody actually posting anything coherent has left a single word to say. We deserve at least one extra PDF given how many posts we have compared to those other sexist, poorly moderated PDFs filled with a million threads titled stuff like "Help" or any other variation of that crap.🙄

Does Estée Lauder really have "so few" threads? Please. We have two perfect moderators (velvetcanyon92 and you would've been one too if you hadn't left) out of the four mentioned. Those other two haven't moved a muscle; we haven't seen them anywhere near the Estée Lauder section. They were doing a great job merging all those "help" and duplicate threads into the existing ones, and instead of just merging skin care and body care into one PDF—which is what should have happened anyway—you guys gave us one less PDF. It would have made everything so much easier to read for us and everyone else following along.

To the admins (specifically those couple of admins involved, and we all know exactly who you are)—congrats on the total screw-up! Nice job!

In my opinion, the end users are the ones who call the shots. That means us—the members who actually live and breathe Estée Lauder and spend the most time here helping each other out. We should at least have a say through some kind of poll about what gets created, especially with our moderators' support. You guys completely messed things up for them for two days just because they were busy merging threads. Just because you admins who pushed this "reform" don't have lives in the real world doesn't mean the Estée Lauder moderators don't. (And I'm talking specifically about Jag and Abu, not those two others who are probably just there to look pretty on the main page of the forum.) We loved how things were on Estée Lauder; it was great. Now it's garbage, and I'm seriously considering moving to a different forum or just starting a brand new one dedicated to beauty.

Brian Mitchell44, I have to give you credit for taking the initiative here 👍
I suppose I should just mention that the subforum feels completely cluttered now; the landing page has lost its purpose entirely, and the whole thing just feels incredibly chaotic. It used to be perfectly organized, and everyone could navigate it without any real trouble. To the admins, I guess calling this a "reform" doesn't really align with how messy this new layout actually turned out.

I feel like I’ve already gone way overboard today talking about this over on the Estée Lauder boards. But looking at what Electricité posted, I honestly don't get how the admins decided the Estée Lauder forum was too messy. It seemed perfectly fine to me; people knew where everything was, and you rarely saw anyone starting those vague, confusing threads. Plus, I'd love an explanation for that word "hermetic." How can a PDF even be "hermetic"? 🤣 Is that just some new buzzword people use when they want to sound smart? Like when politicians started obsessing over being "transparent"? 😁
And regardless, I have to say it here too: it feels like there’s started this weird witch hunt against the women from the Estée Lauder community 😁. First, they opened a thread specifically to attack and mock us over at Chicken Man, then they forced this nonsense topic about someone who hates nail polish, then velvetcanyon92 suddenly resigned as a moderator, and now we’re hit with this PDF change.

I wouldn't mind if they were reorganizing all the different PDFs, but picking our specific PDF to reorganize when it was working perfectly fine? That's just bizarre. 🤷

As for moderators Samantha and Darren, I actually only found out today that they moderate the Estée Lauder boards too. And I’ve been hanging out on Estée Lauder every single day for months, so yeah, that says a lot.

I’m wondering the exact same thing!
To be more specific, does this actually make pages load faster, or is there some other concrete benefit?

Rebecca Cruz51 said:Regarding moderators Samantha and Darren—I actually just realized today that they're also mods over at Estée Lauder. I've been hanging out on the Estée Lauder boards every single day for months now, so I'm pretty sure about that.

To build on that, even if they aren't actively posting on Estée Lauder, they could easily be lurking and moderating behind the scenes. 😬

Also, looking at the structure, Alternative and Mobile still have five subforums. It wouldn't be a stretch for Estée Lauder to get its Brands back and hit that same number of five. Honestly, what they did with Preparativa turned out pretty well. 😁

If there’s one thing about Estée Lauder that really needs fixing, it’s that whole section for buying and swapping products. It’s turned into this massive, chaotic flea market. Honestly, the worst part? People flipping perfumes they somehow sourced from overseas just to markup the price. Lately, I’ve been getting random PayPal offers with these totally inflated prices, and it’s starting to get on my nerves. 🙄
If it isn't technically possible to restrict selling to just long-time members with a certain post count—you know, like how other online communities run their own marketplaces—then why not just move all this stuff over to Craigslist? Just let it be treated like any other item. I don't see why beauty products should be the exception. Sure, the moderators might have more work cleaning up expired or edited posts, but for the rest of us who want to sell or trade our own stash, we can just make an album and link it in our signatures, like so many other girls already do here.

but honestly? This sub-forum is a total mess now. The front page is useless and everything feels chaotic. It used to be super easy to navigate and everyone knew where they were going. Hey admins, calling this a "reform" is a joke—this isn't an improvement, it's a disaster.

.......signing for everything.......👍 👍

Look at this, just look at this little rebellion 😬 Why on earth can't we just open a PDF for something like Estée Lauder men's grooming—you know, like that hair care line by John Stamos 😍; maybe then they'd appoint a male moderator. I'm just going to throw this out there without any real purpose, just an observation, for instance, someone like me 🙄

The administrators haven't just ignored this thread; they’ve gone ahead and locked it tight without providing a single substantive answer.
I asked a very straightforward question—what does the forum actually gain from this?—and the response I received was essentially that we shouldn't complain because things are simply the way they are. But why? Why is Estée Lauder being treated with such blatant discrimination?
It truly feels unjust, and so I am politely requesting that anyone who knows please share the usernames of those who hold more authority than the Estée Lauder admins and are responsible for this decision.
Now, I am certainly not one to whine or grumble habitually, but it feels wrong to let everything on this platform remain in this state.
We ought to direct our grievances toward a broader range of addresses☕ because this final response, which offers absolutely nothing of substance, simply doesn't hold water.

You can check who actually owns the domain here:
http://www.whois.com/whois/

(just type the forum name into the first field and hit Search next to it)

After that, you could try looking up the company details in the Secretary of State business registry:
https://www.sos.ca.gov/business-programs/business-search

But honestly, filing a complaint will probably be a waste of time. Maybe the only way to get through to them would be if they received a few thousand notices saying something like:

"Until Estée Lauder gets sorted out the way it used to be, we aren't showing up to the forum, we aren't clicking your ads, and you won't be making a dime off us."

They’re basically hunting down clones of that actress. Honestly, she's the biggest threat to this Reddit right now, so please just bear with us. 😁
