Justin Fox said:I get why Ivan is pissed. It’s pretty much par for the course with the US Armed Forces—the blood drive was clearly a total clusterfuck. Either the food was forgotten entirely, or someone likely swiped the snacks—either way, the soldiers who donated were left starving. Since they were stationed on base, they weren't even allowed to head out and grab something to eat.

It wouldn't be the first time the US Armed Forces pulled something like this; their treatment of recruits can be downright inhumane depending on the paperwork. My own time serving in the US military is exactly why I left the country. Whenever I feel a bit nostalgic, I just remember trudging through the snow in boots with paper-thin soles while some flag rises at dawn—looking up at birds flying freely over the base—and the nostalgia vanishes instantly.

The blame lies squarely with the commanding officer, and honestly, part of it falls on the folks at the blood bank too. If you're taking blood, you have a basic moral obligation to treat soldiers like human beings, not livestock locked in a pen that you bleed dry and then abandon without checking if they're actually okay. They should have ensured everyone got fed and had downtime after the physical exertion. If that wasn't happening, they should have shut the whole operation down, reported the commander to his superior, filed a complaint with the Department of Defense, and leaked the whole mess to the press. Unfortunately, that’s not how things work in America—civil society just doesn't function. 👎

That's my point. I care about the blood donation, but they had an obligation to feed us. Not just because I gave blood, but because I was stuck there under their control when I did it.
Is it still not clear to everyone here?

Drew Mitchell55 said:Honestly, who gives a damn if he doesn't want to donate blood? We're always short on blood anyway—doesn't matter if we have his pathetic half-liter or not...

Fine then—give me back my own damn half-liter of blood. No big deal, it's more than what he's offering. I'm not some green recruit straight out of basic training anymore 👍

And let's be real—it's all about principle here. Specifically, those sausages I never got. 👍

What am I supposed to congratulate you for?
On what, exactly?
And why does this thread even exist?
You pathetic loser—just because you didn't get an extra sausage or $6.75, you're sitting here whining and playing martyr for who knows who..
Some poor soul dying on an operating table because there isn't enough blood available?
Or maybe a baby needing heart surgery?
Huh?
The only thing you actually did was potentially donate a pint of blood to them..
Otherwise, donating blood is an act of humanity—something you clearly lack, you pathetic wreck.👎

Real humanity is making sure a person can actually eat after they've donated. I'm not the one whining here—the ones whining are people like you, who have nothing better to do with their day than sit here typing nonsense. 👍

I didn't start this thread. The original topic was about volunteer blood donors.

Alright, I’m closing this thread—at least for myself. I’ve said my piece. I’m done replying to everyone individually. If I had been back home, I wouldn't have given a damn about anyone else; I've got food on my table here.
Back there, I didn't even have that, which is why the whole situation was subhuman.
Everything comes back around, and everyone pays their debts. I always settle my accounts—and now, someone is going to settle theirs with me.

My regards to all those extremists serving in the US Armed Forces—because I find it impossible to believe any sane person would let their own soldiers go hungry. And as for those pigs at the agency who were so incredibly disrespectful? They'll get what's coming.

Nathan Peterson11 said:That’s right, Ivan—don't you dare give blood! You'd be doing the world a favor because... well, you know those stories about transplant recipients picking up the traits of their donors? Like some woman who was a strict vegetarian suddenly craving beer and fried chicken just because that was her donor's favorite meal. Imagine if you donated blood and a bunch of people ended up inheriting your entire mental state through a transfusion. ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!!😲

Man, I just love these trolls. They have absolutely nothing intelligent to contribute, yet they just *have* to post something. Come on—try to be original for once. I've heard this tired nonsense a thousand times already; it went from being mildly annoying to straight-up exhausting.

Do me a favor and stop posting if you don't have anything smart to say.

If someone actually inherited my mental state, they might finally learn how to be responsible, watch their actions, and own up to them. I take responsibility for my mistakes—period. I don't forget what others do, and I don't abandon people when I'm responsible for them.

If you donate blood to someone and you know they have limited mobility—like I did back when I was in the US Armed Forces—you have a responsibility to make sure they eat afterward.
Isn't that right?

You all write such pretty little sentiments. But honestly, it’s all meaningless. 🙂

The blame for my situation lies squarely with the person who refused to give me a decent meal just to keep me fed.
Let me be clear—it hits differently when I'm at home versus being stuck inside the military barracks.

They did me a massive injustice, and because of that, I’m going to enjoy a very sweet bit of revenge. Who is it for? Doesn't matter to me. It's for the transplant center.

So, you think you're some kind of psychic? 🙂
Davor Suker has an intuition for the ball—something you clearly don't have. I have no idea how you claim to have a "feeling" about something you can't even see, let alone understand. You aren't even in the loop.
But hey, thank God, just another troll who feels the need to post something even when they have absolutely nothing of substance to say.

p.s.
They’d be complaining anyway—hardly anyone looks out for their employees these days.
I don't want to donate blood in Health ·
Of course I’d feed them. I don't forget anyone—I'm responsible for a lot of things, including a lot of people. What would happen if I just turned my back on them? Think I’d just pocket what they did for me and call it even?

A hero? 🙂

Look, it's not my problem—I'm just settling the score.
I'm an honest man and I take ownership of my actions. Period. And there’s no "forgive and forget" here either. Everything stays clean.
I don't want to donate blood in Health ·
I’m not playing games here. This is strictly business. 🙂

I don't give a damn about who owed what to whom—my concern is the damage done, and I plan on getting my revenge. Sweetly. I’ve already started, and believe me, I’m just getting warmed up. It’s a matter of principle, and I never back down.
Don't act like I'm out of the loop; they can take that up with me. They could have at least had the decency to ask before jumping to conclusions.

Trust me, if I ever actually needed blood, people would be out there cutting their own veins just to help me out. 🙂
You have no idea how much grit I actually have—we aren't exactly friends.

I think I’ve finally met my match with these trolls. 🙂 Not that it bothers me; honestly, getting to vent to you lot is the highlight of my day.

neonmarlin13 said:hey, are you bitter toward the military or the doctors? 😕 I only ever ate those specific chocolate bars while serving, and my time in the service was absolute hell—so now? I’m done. I am never eating that brand again... actually, I'm done with all chocolate forever. 😕 😕 😕

I'm bitter at the losers who couldn't staff enough people to feed me after I donated blood. It's the "doctors"—not the military—that are to blame here. They were supposed to look out for my health because they needed me, not the other way around.

It's a different story when I go to donate now; I can just head out and buy whatever I want. Plus, I'm only eating once a day.

You haven't denied anyone anything—not really. There are still plenty of smart, decent people out there who actually use their heads.

And those "friends" of yours you turned away from donating blood... sounds like a real high-moral crowd right there. You are who you hang out with. Isn't that right?
Bravo. 🙄

They aren't any less immoral than those jerks at the health department who didn't even bother providing snacks after the donation. Who’s the immoral one here?

Nobody asked me a single question. I showed up to donate blood in good faith, but how was I supposed to know I wouldn't even get a glass of water afterward? It’s not like we were in a war zone, as far as I knew.

As for the people I turned away—don't worry about them, I'm just getting started.👍
I hold a high-level position at a massive corporation. I make decisions that dictate what people will be doing for the next ten years—decisions that impact the livelihoods of entire families. Turning down calls for organized blood drives? That's a minor detail to me. 😉
They were acting immorally when they asked, and frankly, I don't care who's at fault.

I’m officially done donating blood. My new mission? Making sure everyone I know stays far away from those donation centers.
It’s all because of that lunch they refused to cover through my health insurance—absolute disgrace. Karma works, and believe me, it’s coming for them.

As of right now, I’ve probably personally blocked about 30 potential donations just by talking people out of it.
I don't want to donate blood in Health ·
I honestly regret donating blood while I was serving in the military. Those lowlifes didn't even give me anything to eat afterward—it was pathetic. If I could, I’d take that bag of my own blood right back. I can't believe how callous they were. Besides, if I had been at home, I could have just grabbed a snack, but being stuck on base meant I couldn't exactly step out to buy something to eat after they drained me.

I am never donating again. In fact, I've already shut down 7 or 8 people who asked. That's my little way of getting even. And before anyone tries to hit me with that tired old line, "But what if you need it one day?", let me be clear: I don't care. We all end up in the ground eventually.
I don't want to donate blood in Health ·
Honestly, I regret ever donating blood while I was serving in the military. Those idiots didn't even provide a snack afterward. If I had my way, I’d go back and take that bag right back. It’s easy to act all selfless when you’re sitting at home, but back then—when I was stuck on base and couldn't just step out to grab a burger or anything—I was left hanging.

I am never donating again. So far, I've personally turned down at least ten different requests. Consider that my petty little revenge. And let me preemptively shut down those mindless comments: "What if *you* need it?" or "What if someone else needs it?" If they can't even manage to feed me, then they can deal with the consequences. If I end up needing it, I'll just suffer. Screw them.
