...if there's anyone here who actually knows their stuff, could you please explain what these crazy high IgG levels might mean? It's for a woman, 52 years old. Her medical history is way too long to dump in a single post.
Thanks in advance.

Basically, those IgG antibodies just show that she’s dealt with EBV or CMV at some point in her life, and once you've had them, they pretty much stick around forever.
On the flip side, IgM antibodies are the ones that signal an active, current infection, and since hers came back negative, there's nothing acute going on right now.

My liver has been bothering me for about five years now, and during those first six months to a year, the pain was absolutely intense, though it settled down a bit later, even if I still feel it every single day. My gastroenterologist sent me off to get some hepatitis markers checked, and here are the results:

Hepatitis A IgG antibodies Negative
Hepatitis B antibodies Negative
Hepatitis B surface antigen Negative
Hepatitis B surface antibodies 261 mIU/mL
Hepatitis C antibodies Negative

I honestly have no clue what to make of all this, and since I can't see my gastroenterologist again for another month, I'm just spiraling. Does this mean I actually have Hepatitis B? How serious is this reading? I've been reading online that this stuff can lead to liver cancer, cirrhosis, or even death. I'm only 23, I don't do drugs, and I haven't had sex, so I'm pretty sure I didn't catch it that way, especially since I know Hepatitis B usually spreads through blood or sex. I have performed oral sex on a few girls in the past, so now I'm wondering if that's a possible way to catch it.

Just relax, because looking at these results, it's clear you've been vaccinated against Hepatitis B, which is why your HBs antibodies are showing up. If you actually had Hepatitis B, your HBs antigen would be coming back positive.

You should probably just head back to your primary care doctor in a week or so and then maybe follow up with a gastroenterologist, and it might be worth getting an ultrasound too just to see if there's anything physically going on with the liver.
And btw, usually when the ALT is double what the AST is, it’s more of a sign of overdoing it with the booze 😁. Anyway, there's really nothing to stress about here because if it were actual hepatitis, those levels would be through the roof, like hitting 2000.
As for the glucose, I'm not sure if you guys were fasting or what, but it doesn't look alarming either, and since creatinine is the indicator for kidney function, the fact that it's only slightly elevated means I wouldn't sweat it.

I have to jump in here because that part stuck out to me, it's actually the exact opposite—when someone is drinking way too much, the AST is typically much higher than the ALT.
