Everything you need for a California wedding in Weddings ·
Hey guys, does anyone have any recommendations, advice, or suggestions... anything... for a venue to host a small party somewhere near San Diego or maybe Los Angeles? It’s just a little get-together for about 50 people. Most places won't even talk to you unless you're looking to host 200 guests. 🙄 Everything I've managed to find so far is a total disaster... (literally just two restaurants), and they're already booked up. 🙂 I am losing my mind digging through the internet and making endless phone calls. HELP!

Ladies, I need some recommendations for a DJ and karaoke spot in the Bay Area... somewhere decent that won't break the bank 😁 since I'm looking to host a small party with good vibes, not a massive gala 😉
Since we're talking about photographers... is there a Zendaya in the house who can tell me (if they know) what the rates look like for Sia? She’s hands down the best photographer out there! I definitely want to book her... my only issue is that I'm just doing a small party, so I don't need any massive photo packages or other nonsense... just a few hours of shooting. anyone??? I would be so grateful 😁

Help!!! I'm looking for a band that can actually play some West Coast classics, some country hits, and solid rock too!!! 🙂Does even a group like that exist in this country??? 😁 Every single band out there is mediocre at best—just that cheap, cheesy synthesizer sound and nothing else. 😵
The thing is, we aren't trying to throw a massive stadium concert, but we definitely want a killer party!

If you're in pain, then obviously you need to go see a gynecologist!!!

I’ve been on Logest, Yasmin, and Diane, and, if I'm being honest, they all seemed perfectly fine to me 🙏
But since I deal with some minor issues regarding PCOS, my doctor over at Mount Sinai—who is absolutely wonderful, by the way—recommended Yasmin, so that's what I'm currently using.

@Benjamin Taylor4; yeah, Yasmin is pretty similar to Diane, though it seems to have a lower hormone dosage (I'm not entirely sure if the composition is identical, but I know both Diane and Yasmin are typically prescribed for PCOS and acne issues, whereas Logest doesn't really touch those, so they likely share the same hormone). As for how much they cost at the pharmacy, I'm afraid I wouldn't know.

I had issues with yeast infections too, which is exactly why my gynecologist put me on them... I haven't even bothered trying anything else. Yasmin was my first and my last! 😳 I wouldn't want to relive those nights ever again—not after everything I went through while drinking them. 🙂
It took me a full year to get my system back in order after them.

Olivia Cox77 said:Well, from what I understand, most of these newer low-dose contraceptives—things like Yasmin, Yaz, or Logest—tend to have fewer side effects overall, including that whole weight gain issue, mostly because they use a much lower dose of hormones compared to the older stuff.

Yeah, right, that’s exactly what my gynecologist tried to convince me too... I took Yasmin for six months and I am never letting that stuff back into my body! Personally, I didn't gain weight, but I dealt with plenty of other issues—I'd call them problems rather than just "side effects." Even though my doctor kept insisting none of it was caused by the pills, my intuition proved to be much more reliable than her medical degree. 😉I’m not trying to scare anyone here—everyone reacts differently—but my own experience was more than enough to ensure I never touch another pill (especially not Yasmin) ever again!

And just when I was starting to feel hopeful 😢

Thanks for the recommendation!😉

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid dentist in San Diego? I'm fine with someone covered by insurance or a private practice... just as long as they actually know what they're doing!

Try Dr. Basio at the local clinic near downtown... he was fine with me. But since it’s a private practice, I don't know if you're looking for that.
Earring issues in Health ·
Arthur Ramirez7 said:I heard there’s some specific component in costume jewelry—I can't quite remember the name—that seems to trigger allergies for people way more often than usual, especially smokers!?? Maybe it's nickel???

Anyway, one little trick you could try is dipping the earring post, just that part that actually goes through your ear, into some Geokorton before putting it in; it might give you a few hours of relief without any irritation.

But honestly, the best piece of advice I’ve ever come across for allergy sufferers is to just coat the earring in a layer of clear nail polish, which basically creates a barrier so it never actually touches your skin, effectively preventing any reaction at all.

Yeah, that's a nickel allergy. I "suffer" from that too. Clear polish helps for maybe one day, but if I wear them again the next, my skin reacts regardless. Instead, I just wipe my piercing holes with alcohol in circles.😁

Keith Thomas21 said:I I have one more question. Does anyone else experience vaginal pain after intercourse due to dryness?
I had sex today and everything felt wonderful at first. In fact, I actually felt quite lubricated down there, which is a massive change from when I was on birth control; back then, things felt as dry as a desert.
The act itself wasn't uncomfortable, but about thirty minutes afterward, I started feeling this intense stinging and aching sensation. Eventually, I applied a little bit of St. John's Wort oil, and that finally seemed to soothe the irritation.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good lubricant? Also, how should I go about asking for one at a pharmacy? To be honest, I feel pretty self-conscious about it.

That happened to me recently too... terrible pain and burning, to the point where I actually had to stop... but I found the fix with Durex FEEL lubricant. You can pick it up at a CVS or Walgreens. It comes in a small bottle, costs about $10, and it’s really good... you don't go through it too fast either 😍. The only thing is that since it's water-based, it dries out quicker and you might need to reapply 😁.

Brenda Fisher86 said:Oh man... I don't even know what to say or think about that... For me, at least for now, things have actually improved compared to how they used to be. Before, I dealt with really intense pain, long-lasting PMS, and constant issues with acne and everything else, but now? Nothing. Just nothing.🤷

As for the pain, everything was fine on that front too. I didn't have any cramps, though my breasts would hurt so bad right before my period—like someone was literally slicing me with a knife, it was disgusting. Otherwise, no pain, and it only lasted four days instead of my usual seven. But yeah, all the other symptoms responded to the meds. Maybe the gynecologist is at fault for not checking my bloodwork or hormones first? She just put me on Yasmin because of my PCOS. I saw her three times before the actual exams just to ask if Yasmin was the culprit, but she kept insisting it wasn't. In the end, there was no choice but to get the tests done. I was terrified it might be something serious with my gut... then the doctor tells me: everything looks great, just stop taking the Yasmin. 🤷

Brenda Fisher86 said:Is anyone else here maybe taking Yasmin? I just started on it about a month ago... and honestly, everything feels pretty great so far in almost every way... the only thing is I’ve started absolutely crushing 😬 lately, though I guess it wouldn't be the end of the world to put on a few pounds 😁 if it happened, but I'm really curious how much that actually has to do with this specific medication? From what I've gathered through my own little deep dives, these "new generation pills" aren't supposed to have any impact on weight at all...

I took Yasmin and it absolutely wrecked my system. My OBGYN kept insisting it couldn't be the pills because they're supposedly the "mildest" and "best" out there—yeah, right. It started with visible veins popping up on my legs, and then the side effects kicked in after a month or two of use. Every single day felt terrible, and it just kept getting worse. My digestive tract completely failed; I was running to the bathroom seven times a day and couldn't even grab a piece of toast without feeling faint. They still tried to tell me it wasn't the Yasmin. I ended up going through every medical test imaginable—gastroscopies, colonoscopies, spending a fortune on urgent exams just to find out the tablets were faulty. After taking them for six months, I quit. My body is still recovering, and unfortunately, I'm still dealing with gut issues to this day, though it's better than it was. I am never touching another birth control pill again!

Can anyone recommend a solid dentist in San Diego? I don't mind going private, but the only thing that matters to me is finding someone who actually knows what they're doing. Most dentists I've seen have absolutely trashed my teeth, so I'm being extremely careful about this one!
