USA vs. Spain: 29-28 in Other Sports ·
rapidbison42 said:The Pastor is just coping because he knows they're heading home the day after tomorrow.
Against the Germans, nothing but a miracle saves them. Maybe some divine intervention from Saint James in Santiago de Compostela.

Otherwise... that second half was our best performance of this World Cup.
Way too good for the Spaniards.
Chema Rodriguez is playing like trash in this World Cup, so today the Pastor tried plugging in both Romer and R. Entrerrios at the wing, but it just isn't working.
In the second half, we tore through Hombrados and there weren't any Spanish counters to speak of. Without those, they can't beat anyone. Their positioning is shit. It's been like that for years.

If today's second half was the best our guys have played in this World Cup, then I don't get how they even made it to 7/7...
The whole game felt sketchy...
The saddest part is nobody even bothered to cover it up... especially those commentators from New York...👎
And that whole "malo-hoćemoćemoćo-neći" method of theirs is a disgrace to the reputation they rightfully earned... and barely saved at the last minute...
Glad they finally grew a brain...
But I gotta admit, I expected to see Dominikovica out there against the Spaniards, giving that legendary effort and being 100% locked in...
Didn't see any of that... bummer...
But they won...
Now we wait for the French...👋 🎉
Champions League or World Cup? in Soccer ·
nimblemarlin17 said:The USA and Trinidad and Tobago have basically zero chance of meeting in the World Cup group stage. The USA might scrape through as runners-up, but T&T isn't happening. Football at the World Cup is the same stuff as the Champions League. Same favorites, same underdogs, same massive upsets (like Barcelona-Levski, where Levski played just as aggressively as Saudi Arabia did in Germany... 🙄), same big matchups, all that.

thanks so much for the "clarification."
guess I was actually watching some amateur bowling tournament instead of the Champions League..
I stated my opinion.. and I'm sticking to it..
maybe try practicing a little tolerance for other people's views. just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they're wrong..
everything can be viewed from different angles.. it's all about perspective..
if you're that lost, go take a philosophy class and ask someone to explain the Sophists to you..

nimblemarlin17 said:Look... you said you'd rather watch Barca-Milan than USA-Trinidad and Tobago. Really? So what would you prefer instead? Italy-Brazil or Lille-Anderlecht? Germany-Argentina or Levski-Spartak? Your take on this is just childish and naive, lady.

1.) You still haven't answered my point about the 'groups.'
2.) I don't know if it's just me, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one in this poll to pick the Champions League. Not sure why all these questions are being aimed solely at me.
My approach to the topic was simple and blunt: I stated my opinion, which is—again—that the football we get in the Champions League is more interesting to me than what we see at the World Cup.
(I'm ignoring the atmosphere here, which is definitely—and again, just my opinion—way crazier at the World Cup.)
Call me naive again if you want, but I don't see anything childish about it.
Isn't the whole point of this thread for people to weigh in on the question?
Am I banned from doing that just because God didn't make me part of the superior male gender?!

Exactly. Your literal, brain-dead interpretation of everything written here just confirms that missing Y chromosome in your genetic code..
If your fragile masculinity is triggered by some "lady" daring to watch football, then my bad..
Mea culpa. I don't spend my free time memorizing FIFA rulebooks, because they aren't the reason I bother watching a game in the first place..
P.S.
The US and Trinidad example was purely hypothetical. But I'm curious: where exactly did I mention a group?

Look, this is probably going to be the first female perspective you hear on here, but whatever...
I'll take the Champions League over USA vs. Trinidad and Tobago any day. Watching AC Milan vs. FC Barcelona is just way more fun.
If I haven't made it obvious yet, basically everyone in the Champions League plays decent football. You can't really say the same for most of the teams at the World Cup.
