I still say a fifteen-year-old kid weighing 300 pounds with a slow metabolism is eating way too much. One serving of meat is plenty. One slice of bread with pâté? That’s enough. Plus, we're talking about junk here—sandwiches and Twix bars aren't actual food, they're just trash.
The real question is, what counts as "normal" for different people? Personally, I think for any healthy adult, three servings of meat at once is just straight-up overeating.
You’re eating way too much, and let's be honest—it's mostly junk. If you want to drop the weight, there really is only one way: hit five small, nutritious meals a day and get moving regularly. Seriously, walk into any Whole Foods or even a local Target today and you'll see aisles upon aisles of nutrition books. Nobody can pretend they don't know what a healthy plate is supposed to look like anymore. Skip the chocolate bars for snacks and grab some fruit instead. And here's the big one: NO DINNER. Don't eat anything after 6 PM. Cut out the bread, white flour, processed sugar, and pasta. Instead, lean into whole grains, fish, and yogurt. It all comes down to willpower, though. My mom actually lost 50 pounds and hasn't gained a single ounce back, so if she could do it, you definitely can. Just don't cheat on yourself. Remember, your life is literally on the line every time you give in to a binge. Plus, let's be real—overeating is usually just a symptom of something else. Find the root cause of why you're stuffing your face and fix that first, otherwise, no diet or workout plan is going to stick. Hit the gym two or three times a week (or go swimming, which is even better!) and then just do thirty minutes of light stretching at home every single day.
Best of luck!
Whenever I tried taking Advil, my heart would start racing like crazy—total tachycardia. So, I basically never actually took it. I always had a bit of a bad feeling about it, you know?
De Niro is just hopeless when he tries to do comedy. For some reason, he seems convinced he’s a comedic genius, but it always ends up being the same old thing—some goofy facial expression with his jaw hanging out. Maybe someone should have told him...
Atom Egoyan is a straight-up genius. I mean, even The Sweet Hereafter is great—the acting is just top-tier. You’ve got Glen Ford and Sarah Polley in one film? Seriously, where else are you gonna find that kind of talent?
Hmm... Lexi Alexander making a movie about hooligans... You know, there aren't actually enough of them to justify a whole list without being totally unfair. Though, if we're talking favorites, my top pick has to be Agnieszka Holland.
She’s not exactly my favorite, but we can't just gloss over her—Mimi Leder. She did so much great TV work, like on ER, and then there's Peacekeeper, which was actually one of those rare big-budget movies directed by a woman. And look, I’m not really a huge fan of hers, but you absolutely have to mention Nora Ephron too.
I caught it last night and honestly? I liked it. It’s probably not the absolute peak of De Palma’s career, but let's just say it's a solid "B+" De Palma flick. I felt like some of the acting leaned a bit too hard into being over-the-top—not because the actors were bad, but more like they were playing up the intensity of the procedural elements a bit much. There was one specific person who went totally overboard, but hey, I'm not about to drop spoilers here... The cinematography, though? Absolutely stunning. Everything has this dreamy, noir-ish quality, almost like a black-and-white movie brought to life in color, with those soft edges and deep shadows... They packed in as much story as they could without it feeling cluttered; if they had added any more, it probably would have fallen apart. All in all, it won't blow your mind or anything, but it’s a really solid watch. Definitely worth your time.
Dr. Andrej Plenković, the head of neurology over at Mayo Clinic. I actually saw her in her private practice first, and after the initial checkup, she personally scheduled me for some follow-up tests at the hospital. Honestly, she was just fascinating. Even with such a high-ranking position, she practically held my hand through the whole process, walking me from one exam to the next and getting totally involved in my care. And get this—I didn't have any special connections or a referral or anything; I just showed up off the street! Plus, all the other doctors on that department are absolutely stellar.
