Is physical reality just an illusion? in Spirituality ·
Amanda Vaughn3 said:You could always just feel the energy vibration of their soul. 😉

I’m pretty sure I’m missing the organ required to sense soul vibrations...

It always seems to come down to excuses. Once you start noticing this pattern, it's eye-opening. We will invent a thousand different reasons why things can't improve or why change is impossible, even when the opportunity is staring us right in the face. We all do it, if we're being honest.

maybe "self-improvement" is too intense... I'd call it more of an encounter with yourself...

so, how do you actually live while knowing deep down it's all kind of fake?

To me, matter is just opportunity and timing—it’s how we actually run into one another... because without it, how would I even recognize anyone else?
I’d just be stuck in some deep, existential void of loneliness.

It’s always had a bad reputation, almost like it was guilty before it even showed up to the party.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even be able to see myself without it.

Yeah... it "belongs" to the whole damn thing.

Casey Gomez said:It is entirely possible for a person to feel "lesser" upon realizing how difficult it is to meet their own lofty standards, especially when the bar is set impossibly high. On top of that, constant self-reflection tends to only intensify that sense of inadequacy. True personal growth requires both conscious awareness and the willingness to embrace one's own Shadow ( Jung ).

Thanks for sharing that Jungian thought...

That whole "own shadow" thing really stuck with me lately.
Digging into my shadow is pretty intense—it’s kind of exciting, but I’m definitely feeling some nervous resistance too. Just trying to ride out whatever comes up.

Feels like once you start pulling this thread, there's no going back... even if you wanted to.

I don't even know where to start with this mess—honestly, it’s just exhausting at this point. I've been sitting here staring at the screen, trying to make sense of all the nonsense being thrown around, and my head is spinning. It feels like everyone has an opinion, but nobody actually knows what they're talking about! And don't even get me started on what brisknomad13 was saying earlier. Seriously? That logic is so flawed it's almost impressive. You can't just take one tiny piece of information and pretend it's the whole damn picture. It's lazy, it's sloppy, and frankly, it's annoying when people try to pass off half-baked theories as gospel. Look, I'm not trying to be difficult—well, okay, maybe I am—but someone has to say it. We need to stop moving the goalposts every time a new argument comes up. If we're going to have a real conversation here, let's actually stick to the facts instead of just shouting over each other. It's getting ridiculous. kaže:
Look, I’m really not one to jump to conclusions or paint everyone with the same brush—I hate generalizing as much as the next person—but honestly? I have to say it... ever since I started trying to do this whole spiritual deep dive thing, I feel like I’ve actually become a "worse person." It sounds clumsy, and I’m struggling to find the right way to put it—there isn't really any other way to phrase this without sounding weird—but maybe it’s just because I’m finally becoming aware of all my unadjusted parts, or those messy, alienated pieces of myself that I used to just ignore.

Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, or maybe I’m just projecting way too hard—honestly, who knows at this point...

One thing’s for sure—the way I’m feeling right now is just... weird. It’s all amorphous, kind of shapeless, and honestly? A little bit terrifying.

Whoa, hold up—that’s definitely not a loss!😍
Look, you’ve basically opened the floodgates. All those emotions that were just simmering under the surface? They’re out now. And because you let them out, they’re starting to get a little too comfortable—now they’re acting like they deserve a seat at the table, trying to act all equal to the ones who were already invited in. It’s getting a bit chaotic, honestly. It’s like when a bunch of toddlers at a playground all try to storm down the big slide at the exact same time... it’s a mess. You gotta manage them. Line 'em up and handle them one by one, or things are gonna get ugly.
I don't know, man—I don't really see this as some "spiritual" thing. To me, it’s more about that raw process of self-discovery. You go through it, you learn who you actually are, and then—as a byproduct—you end up more spiritual, wiser, and way more empathetic. It's like, you gain this deeper level of understanding just by doing the work. Honestly, I think everyone should go through this. Especially if you're in a field where you're constantly dealing with people—if you're in a position where you're basically "earning" secondary trauma from hearing everyone else's heavy life stories, you damn well need that mental toolkit.
I’ve been diving deep into somatic psychotherapy lately—just really getting into the headspace of how the body holds onto everything—and I've actually started working through some specific exercises to help process it all.
It’s honestly unreal. 😲 It’s like I’m reading my own damn thoughts!
But... look, honestly? I’m not gonna spill any more specifics just yet. Not ready to go there. 🙂

Nice view of how things are going on my end... I'm still gonna let it slide, even if you look a little rougher around the edges.

But I suppose every disappointment brings a bit of a reality check. 🙂 It can offer comfort, though you never really know if it's true clarity or just the mind soothing itself (we all love to find comfort in new beliefs that we'll eventually have to deal with anyway 😉).

The "dark night of the soul" seems to be a popular topic in spiritual circles lately. Personally, I'd lean toward saying it's just tough astrological aspects right now, or maybe just the physical toll of spring hitting the system.

In any case, brisknomad13, I'm glad to see you sharing stuff like this. 🙂

p.s. Emofree 😍

Hey Scott Miller4, did you seriously think I was some kind of iron lady? 🙂

Anyway, glad I finally ran into you both.

One thing's for sure: these feelings are weird, shapeless, and kind of terrifying.

Is this some "dark night of the soul" crap, or am I just finally staring myself in the face?

Who knows...

Could just be me getting disillusioned with yet another concept. Probably won't have any answers to these doubts anytime soon.

I've been hanging around this site for a few years now, and honestly, reading through all these posts just breaks my heart... It really does.

I can't believe things have actually gotten this bad... I just can't make sense of any of it.

We can hide behind a thousand different usernames, but we still leave traces of who we really are and how we feel right here.

Do you guys actually mean the stuff you write, or am I just stuck in some weird delusion about what people should be like? Or maybe I'm just chasing some utopian ideal that doesn't exist.

But hey, my dream for humanity is just getting started...

Brothers, is this really how you testify to God? Using language like this?
If someone tells you that you're obsessed with a God delusion, can you actually respond with something real—something that isn't just an illusion or a trick?

Loving your brother, loving every single person, despite everything... Only love (and if there's any God's mercy left in us, there's love) can break this endless cycle of misunderstanding...

Listen, I just want you guys to find some love.
And then... well, life. Real life.

p.s. Sure, talking about a God delusion is fine—it's part of how humans try to figure out the meaning of everything. But calling the Virgin Mary a "bitch"? No way... That’s just low. To say that about any woman, or any man for that matter.
Don't even get me started on people talking about the death of a child...

Susan Price30 said:And honestly, it’s even more pathetic that people like that just lie to the owner (who was actually around to deal with it back then) and lie to the local government agency admins by claiming, "We asked believers if they wanted to moderate this religious subforum, but nobody 'accepted the offer' or wanted to 'step up'..." never ever lool. Not one single person [it's been ten years flat lol]. Just a total lie and a fake excuse, if you ask me.

I think they aren't lying.
Is honesty always a virtue? in Psychology ·
Honesty is only a virtue if what we’re actually saying matches the real facts about the subject at hand.

And when you are dropping truth bombs, I think you have to be mindful of the person you're talking to—their headspace, their social situation, all that. You should tailor the message to fit the moment without watering down the actual truth.

But let's be real, figuring out what the actual truth is... is usually pretty damn hard. Most of the time, it's just our own version of logic....
Always the underdog! in Psychology & Therapy ·
It feels like if you start off by basically deciding you’re unworthy of love, you’re just signing up for a lifetime of misery.

Plus, isn't the whole point of love to actually be with the person? If you consciously choose a path where that's impossible, then you end up stuck in what Quincy says—that "suffering has to earn some kind of eternal beauty"—where you're just chasing a dream thinking it's reality.

There’s something powerful about the idea that men and women are meant to be a single unit, and things fall apart when people try to play games or make excuses for breaking that bond...

Sure, you can experience love without craving that deep connection, but you have to be ready to step outside the cycle of suffering. It's like an existential trip where you have to hold yourself together in every dimension. Most people just can't hack it.

At the end of the day, you're the one designing your own quality of life...
