It’s not the clinic's fault if they don't have a contract with Medicare for PET/CT scans.
Basically, that means you can't just walk in with a referral and get it covered. The real question is whether they actually applied for the contract and got denied, or if they didn't even bother asking. At the end of the day, if a private clinic doesn't have an agreement with Medicare, you're paying out of pocket for those services.

I haven't heard of Dr. Aljinovica, so I can't really speak to his work, but if you want my take, Professor Uglesic is definitely the way to go. Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about him. I wasn't there for any of his surgeries personally, but I've seen the work he does over at Springfield. As far as I know, he might be the only specialist in the US focusing on jaw osteotomy. (Mind you, I don't know anything about Dr. Aljinovica, so I couldn't tell you if he handles osteotomies or not)
