Honestly, it makes total sense to me. I actually went ahead and asked—you know, right after taking my tampon out—if I should rinse with some saline solution or maybe something like Aqua Maris or whatever... and they told me a flat-out NO... 🤷
Betty Edwards22 said:Just flush things out with saline—it really helps. After my surgery, they actually suggested five days of antibiotic drops. Honestly, using Operil just ends up irritating the mucous membranes too much.
Well, my doctor told me not to even touch saline for seven days straight! (I had swabs taken on Friday, and then there's the mold/culture test tomorrow)... Since I’m feeling so incredibly congested and can barely breathe, I was thinking about using some saline to clear everything out... so, does anyone actually recommend doing it?
Reporting that I’ve completely lost my sense of smell.... (day 5 post-op) I know this can be temporary, but I'm curious—how long did it last for you guys? What's actually considered normal here?
Quick question for anyone who’s dealt with those external stitches (like on the nostrils or the columella): do they actually take them out, or do they just sort of fall off on their own?
Yeah, so my doctor actually told me to hold off on putting anything up my nose—like just plain old saline—for the first seven days. Is that actually true? I could have sworn I read somewhere that you should start rinsing right away Oh, you’re totally right, though—the main thing is just knowing it'll be over soon... the only thing left is getting those molds removed (and honestly, I'm crossing my fingers it won't hurt nearly as much as those tampons 🙂)
That’s awesome for you! From what I’ve been reading online—and honestly, there are so many people saying they had a great experience and that the pain wasn't even that bad—it sounds pretty promising... I mean, okay, I wouldn't say mine was totally unbearable, but let's just say it was definitely a bit more intense than I was expecting, if you know what I mean, Anyway, today is day three and things are already starting to feel a little better... though I still have this constant, annoying stinging sensation in my nose...
Man, this thread has gone seriously off the rails lately... Let’s try to get us back on track here. So, basically, HOW LONG DID YOU GUYS ACTUALLY DEAL WITH THAT POST-OP NASAL PAIN? I’ve been reading some stuff saying certain people didn't feel anything at all—which, honestly, sounds totally fake to me...
Hey everyone, anyone here who’s gone through this—did you find yourselves constantly using cold compresses during those first few days (especially around the cheeks...)—and did it actually help? I’ve got one of those gel packs that stays frozen—should I pack that in my bag just in case?
Quick question for anyone who's been through surgery before: What stuff should I actually pack for the hospital stay? Did you guys stock up on painkillers, nasal sprays, and things like that ahead of time? And also—could you actually eat anything on day one or two, or was it just straight up fasting?
So, does everyone actually have to wear a full-on cast after any kind of cosmetic procedure? From what I've gathered, it's more about those medical tapes and bandages—not a heavy plaster cast...
I was wondering how people actually go about "shrinking or shortening" those nasal openings if that's even necessary—since you're technically "shortening" the nose itself, right? Is that even really doable, or do the nostrils just stay the same length while they adjust the overall shape (like the bridge, the tip, slimming it down, whatever...)?
Hey everyone, I could really use some help here: does anyone know if there's a dentist in San Francisco (or maybe somewhere nearby?) who actually uses ozone therapy to treat cavities?
Also—and this is kind of a big one—does anyone have a solid recommendation for a pediatric dentist?
Does anyone know (maybe there's a guide out there?) what it actually means when the water turns this dark, greenish-yellow shade, almost like black? thanks! (I was just at a treatment, and the woman there "didn't seem to know" 🤷)
