Everything runs on fuel (or pretty much everything). Just don't go burning rubber on the highway trying to look cool...😁

Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction for you.👍
First you deal with the mirror and some exfoliation, then you get a little facial stimulation. Don't sweat it, it’s nothing to be scared of. Honestly, I actually enjoyed it... since I usually get zapped by a static shock at least once a month anyway.
When I was a kid, the massage was definitely the highlight. I was about 11, nice ladies, head in your lap, getting a facial massage.🙂 They don't do that anymore though.
At least your hearing is fine. Just stay brave, you'll be alright.
Last night, I used some ointment—can’t recall which antibiotic specifically—and just squeezed it right into my eye, then pressed on it so it wouldn't leak out while I was sleeping... at least until I drifted off. During the day, I just stick to artificial tears. I don't mess with the ointment during daylight hours because it blurs everything up, and I can't have that when I'm driving myself to my appointments... it gets too blurry to see the road.
You probably won't need an EMG. I got hit with such a nasty jolt that I figured it was necessary. It actually reminded me that I've been having hearing issues, too. My ear was reacting insanely to sound. As soon as things got above a certain decibel level, it felt like my eyes were going to pop right out of my head. Even showering was a nightmare; I couldn't let the water hit my ear directly or the noise would absolutely wreck me.😲
That whole situation was anything but harmless. Hopefully, your symptoms are way more manageable since your doctor cleared you to keep working.
So, during your therapy sessions, do you just sit there in front of the mirror making faces at yourself? While I was waiting for the power to come back on, I found myself cracking jokes to my own reflection... people were staring at me like I'd completely lost my mind. Honestly, I was being ridiculous even to myself.😂

Thanks for the advice. I was actually thinking about heading over to the pharmacy near Dolac Market.
Still at it. Just like Francis
Looks like you lucked out. I got absolutely slammed by this thing. Honestly, if you’re younger, you bounce back way faster and more effectively. If this hit me again at my age—42—I think I'd be in for a much rougher ride. About 12 years ago, I knew an old guy who went through therapy for this, and after a whole month of it, he barely saw any improvement. It really just comes down to how lucky you are...
The second time it happened, it was just a perfect storm of bad timing. I had the flu, a 102 fever, freezing weather outside, a cold car, the AC blasting, and I was sweating... It caught me completely off guard mid-day, and since I couldn't exactly walk away from work immediately, I pushed through it. Ended up throwing my neck out, and I can still feel the pain in that spot today.
I’ve dealt with this twice myself. First time back when I was just a kid, and then again about 12 years ago. Honestly, what can I tell you? You need IV B vitamins, stay on top of physical therapy like your life depends on it—be disciplined—keep that side of your face warm, make faces, blow air through your mouth, and for heaven's sake, stay out of drafts... I'm truly sorry this hit you.
I ended up on medical leave for 75 days. It's absolutely critical to start treatment immediately; they wouldn't even let me go back to work because there was a real risk of permanent facial paralysis if things went sideways.
The lasting reminders for me are the vision issues in my left eye (since it hit my left side), constant tearing up, and the fact that the two sides of my face don't quite match anymore. Breathing through my left nostril is a struggle, and my left lip is weaker, which makes eating a bit of a mess—like, I can't even swirl spaghetti on a fork because the left side "leaks"...
Reading all that sounds pretty grim, but it’s not actually that catastrophic. Most of it is stuff only I notice. Still, I have to be careful not to let it happen again, because recovery would be way more complicated next time.
When I was in 5th grade, I spent a month at Mayo Clinic getting B vitamins via intramuscular shots, and man, that was brutal. My butt was sore and bruised, and I couldn't sit, lie down, or even walk properly after the injections (they always timed them right before lunch), and the stinging... it was absolute hell. Just imagine being an 11-year-old going through that.
It was much easier this time around. They did IV treatments with Vitamin C mixed in. B vitamins aren't usually covered by insurance these days (not sure how it works now), even though they're the standard treatment for this condition. Luckily, I managed to get some through a friend who works at the hospital.
In the end, all I can wish for you is a speedy recovery, minimal side effects, and enough discipline to really grind through those therapies.
Oh, yeah. One more thing. Because of this, I had to undergo the most unpleasant exam of my entire life. An electromyography. Gross. Testing nerve conduction. Necessary, sure, but totally miserable.
Hope this helps even a little bit. Hang in there. 😉

I could use a little help here. Does anyone know if there's a pharmacy that handles international orders from overseas, specifically from Italy? I need to track down some "Brunac" eye drops for my wife. They're manufactured in Italy, and they've completely vanished from the shelves here in the States. She used to pick them up at a pharmacy over on Pokoran Street in Chicago, but they're totally out of stock now.
The condition she’s dealing with is pretty specific, and those drops are a necessity... no clue why they just stopped carrying them.
Thanks in advance.
