Does anyone else feel like the price tags for top talent are getting absolutely ridiculous lately? It feels like every time a big club needs a specific piece for their roster, the asking price jumps by tens of millions for no reason. Is there such a thing as "fair market value" anymore in this sport?
Feeling slightly better, I guess. Got three sessions left, but since I'm traveling, I took a little break. Honestly, I can't tell if it's the PT or the meds doing the heavy lifting. I was taking Voltaren, but it absolutely trashed my stomach, so I quit. Now I'm on some muscle relaxant, hopefully it actually works... That electrical stimulation during physical therapy totally wrecks my nerves, though; I’m up all night because of it. It’s just infuriating. Once this round of therapy is over, I’ll rest for a bit, start exercising, and then swear off doctors forever. Seriously, the worst part is the doctor himself—this guy won't shut up about his own life. Master's degree, speaks four languages, owns a house, an apartment... He's as boring as hell. I even started bringing a book to read, and he had the nerve to tell me reading too much isn't good. Eventually, he got the hint and backed off.

I don't have an answer for the last post, but if you can afford it, I’d suggest getting a second opinion. Use the internet to hunt for exercises that actually help. People love handing out instant diagnoses and "quick fixes" like, "Oh, you'll grow out of it!" Give me a break! When exactly am I supposed to grow out of it? By the time those years pass, we'll be too old to even enjoy the life we saved.

BTW, from what I can tell, you have a baby—have you checked if the pain is coming from childbirth or just carrying the little one around?

Take care!
Thanks, guys! I’ve already done three therapy sessions and honestly, I don't feel a damn thing changing. Maybe things will finally settle down soon... 🙂
Dealing with painful periods in Women's Health ·
Forgot to mention that after ten years of this, I’ve basically built up a total immunity to painkillers. I was tossing back Buscopan, Voltaren, Kafetin... even some MS meds. You just wreck your stomach, and then when something else actually hurts, nothing works anymore. Honestly, switching up my diet and starting Yasmin was the real fix!

I dealt with absolutely brutal period cramps from age 13 all the way to 23. There were times I actually ended up in the ER just to get a shot for the pain. Everyone kept telling me it’d magically vanish once I had kids, but God knows when that’s ever happening... definitely wasn't on my radar back when I was 13. It really kills your quality of life. Honestly, the constant dread of the pain is almost worse than the actual cramping. Around 23, I finally realized I had to fix my diet because my stomach was working overtime just to digest everything. I started eating lighter, cutting out heavy stuff like greasy burgers a few days before my cycle hits, and started taking Yasmin. I've been totally fine for three years now—I don't even think about my period anymore. You can find a million different diet tips online, so just find what works for your body and talk to your OB-GYN about birth control. Good luck!
I'm 26 and my lower back has been killing me for 10 days straight. Saw a physiatrist last night and they called it lumbago... basically just acute back pain. The report also mentions a Herniated Disc at L5S1, which I guess means some kind of disc issue. Now I'm supposed to go to physical therapy for 10 days. Honestly, I can't help but wonder if doctors push these expensive treatments because they actually work, or if they just see I have a paycheck that can handle it... anyway, does anyone actually know what a Herniated Disc entails? Can someone help me out? My doctor mentioned genetics play a role too. My older sister did therapy last year and hasn't felt pain since, but my dad was stuck in a hospital bed at 25 because of sciatica. At the end of the day, we really are our own worst enemies. I spend all day sitting at my desk and driving... once this clears up, I’m hitting aerobics twice a week and nothing—not even a little ache—is stopping me. Anyone else dealing with this crap? Thanks
