I know, I know. This thread has probably been resurrected a dozen times already, so my apologies for not digging through the archives. I made it to page 11, but honestly, it’s half past five in the morning and my brain is fried...

Anyway. My cycle is regular enough, but the pain? That’s a different story. It’s relentless. Lately, I’ve been surviving on my own DIY cocktail of Voltaren 😉 (and I’ve started throwing Indomethacin into the mix lately—it’s been a total game-changer)
.
But look, there's a limit to how much one person can take. I’m wondering if there’s any kind of natural way—or at least something more "organic"—to deal with these cramps. Sometimes the agony is so intense I can't even sleep for days (just like right now), and there are nights when even the heavy-duty pills just don't touch the pain...

I would be incredibly grateful for any advice you all might have.

Look, instead of wasting your life clicking through every single damn website to find what you need—since the web is massive—smart people actually invented search engines. Google is one of them.

So, here's how it works: go to www.google.com and just type whatever you're looking for into the search bar. If you want to hunt for something on a specific site, like this forum, just type "search term site:forum.com". If you want to search CNN, type "search term site:cnn.com".

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cl...a%C5%BEi&meta=
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cl...a%C5%BEi&meta=

Don't mention it.

Well, if you really want to search through CNN, just type in CNN 😁 (sorry, I couldn't resist the 😳)

Look, if you're in pain, go see a doctor... I’ve been dealing with some pretty intense pain lately myself—even though my period ended—so I went ahead and booked an appointment. At least then I'll know exactly what's going on 🥳

Before I got pregnant, my periods were always a nightmare—painful, to say the least. My doctor told me there wasn't some underlying disease or anything; it was just intense uterine contractions. Honestly? I was pretty skeptical when they suggested I just manage the pain with something mild like Tylenol and promised that everything would magically settle down after my first pregnancy.
Well, turns out they were actually right for once.
Since having my baby, those agonizing cramps haven't come back once. My cycles are completely different now.

hm.. I’d suggest Advil. Specifically the extra strength stuff.
I relied on it for years—it was pretty much my only lifeline—since I dealt with some seriously brutal period cramps. We're talking vomiting, passing out... the whole ordeal.
Now that I've switched to Evra contraceptive patches, I have to say they've been a total game-changer for managing the pain. In other words—it's just gone.

I used to rely heavily on Tylenol because my period cramps were absolutely brutal—it’s such a strong pain reliever, so it was a lifesaver.
Another thing that really helped me was just getting cozy and wrapping myself up in a warm blanket...
But honestly, lately, I haven't even needed it. The pain is barely there on the first day, which feels pretty strange to me, considering how loud and obvious my cycle used to announce itself every single month. 😬
It actually catches me off guard sometimes now, since I was so used to those pains acting like a warning sign that it was coming. 😁

Birth control would probably kill those pains since you wouldn't be ovulating. You'd likely ditch the Tylenol too, and if anemia is part of the deal, that might clear up as well. Could be something with the shape of your uterus or the lining causing the cramps, so just go see a doctor and find out... I'd help you more, but I'm no medic. 😬
Once you stop taking hormonal pills, there's a chance those pains—or any pain at all—might never come back.
Just if you decide to go that route, do your homework on the side effects. Apparently, some of them can even cause cancer.

Applying warm compresses to the abdomen and some light pressure—it helps a little.

A friend mentioned that yarrow tea works wonders for her.

Generally speaking, oral contraceptives can be a big help too.

I wouldn't recommend mixing different pills together—not worth the risk.

Tylenol😕 works like candy for me... totally useless... I wouldn't exactly call it a heavy hitter for intense pain... but whatever

I usually just take two Tylenols at once, then when the pain starts creeping back, I'll switch to one at a time... but if you're looking for the whole "natural remedy" thing, honestly, nothing organic works for me, so 🤷

(not that I actually got any sleep last night because of the pain 😢 ))

Oh, I totally get what you mean...
Voltaren just doesn't cut it for me... I need two or three Advil, or maybe Aleve... anything else is useless... and I have to take them the second I feel the pain starting, otherwise, they don't even work.🤷
And nothing natural seems to help at all...
Thank goodness it's only this intense on the first day when I can barely get out of bed... I've dealt with everything from vomiting to dizziness, you name it.
The rest of the time, something lighter like Tylenol works just fine...

Honestly, I’d suggest trying Knavon forte.
Or maybe even looking into birth control pills. ☕

seriously though, don't go reaching for those birth control pills just because you're dealing with some pain 😉

I mean, birth control pills are probably my best bet for dealing with pain...☕

I'm not saying you should just pop them constantly, but maybe consider taking them for a bit until things actually improve... then there's a chance the pain won't even come back. Because honestly, just poisoning yourself with every random Tylenol out there without any actual relief—especially since nothing works for some people anyway—isn't a real solution, least of all long-term.

If even an over-the-counter painkiller—like Tylenol, which you can grab easily at any drugstore—isn't doing the trick, then it’s probably time to go see a doctor.

I second this completely. I used to suffer through agonizing pain—it felt like someone was driving nails into my lower abdomen and up toward my kidneys. I would vomit, feel dizzy, and it would drag on for the first three or four days. Without taking two Aleve or Knavon Forte, I couldn't function. 🤷

Then I started using Yasmin. The PMS is gone, the pain is non-existent, my cellulite improved, I don't deal with ovulation tenderness anymore, and even my breasts have gotten fuller. 😍
