Thanks so much. I was wondering—could the actual sampling process itself trigger some kind of liver disease, seeing as the biopsy did cause some liver damage?
Does a liver biopsy carry any long-term consequences?
Is there any way to actually reverse gray hair and get back to my original color? I mean—is there an actual remedy out there that won't cause more harm than good? Thanks!
I’ve only got my blood work results in front of me right now. The reference range is listed as 80-160, but my reading came back at 66. Also, the ceruloplasmin reference interval is 20-60, while mine is sitting at 18. Could you please explain how anyone could call this a "good prognosis"?
The good news is that my GGT, AST, and ALT levels have finally stabilized—plus, the tumor markers look solid! My abdominal CT scan came back clear, too, and there’s no sign of hepatitis. However—and this is the part that’s really weighing on me—my ceruloplasmin and copper levels are quite low.
I’ve been doing some deep dives online, but honestly, I’m finding so many conflicting interpretations that it’s getting a bit overwhelming. I’m just sitting here wondering what the doctor is actually going to make of all this at my next check-up.
Thanks for getting back to me with that info. I actually have a follow-up appointment coming up this week—and, honestly, I’m feeling pretty anxious about it. My recent lab results weren't exactly great; my copper and ceruloplasmin levels are both running low. I'm sitting here in a state of total uncertainty—it's quite overwhelming, really—and I can't help but fear the absolute worst-case scenario. If anyone has any advice or has been through something similar, I would truly appreciate it.
My doctor just sent me off for some copper and ceruloplasmin testing—I'm currently sitting around waiting for the results to roll in.
What does it actually signify when those reference intervals come back high or low? Specifically, what are ceruloplasmin and copper even doing in my system? If anyone out there happens to be knowledgeable about this, I would truly appreciate an explanation. Thanks!
Thanks for getting back to me! I actually don't have any of those symptoms you mentioned—I’m pretty careful about what I put in my body. For instance, I steer clear of greasy, fried foods, and I don't drink alcohol or smoke at all. My weight has stayed pretty much the same, too. Sorry, I have one more quick question for you—would it be okay if I had a non-alcoholic beer?
I’ve been dealing with some nagging pain in my upper right abdomen—right under the ribcage area—so I decided to go ahead and get a GI consult and an abdominal ultrasound. Here is what the report showed: My liver measures 16 cm at the midclavicular line, and there are these hyperechoic structures throughout the parenchyma, appearing as diffuse lesions, though no specific focal lesions were spotted. The pancreas looks totally normal in size and echostructure, and there's no dilation of the common bile duct. Everything else seemed fine! Following this, my doctor put me on a low-fat diet—with a strict "no alcohol" rule—and ordered follow-up labs. Well, the results just came back, and they aren't great: my GGT is elevated at 105 (normal is 11-55), my MCV is 105 (range 83.0-97.2), and my MCH is 34.4 (range 27.4-33.9). To top it all off, the tumor marker CA 19-9 came back high at 66.7 compared to the usual 33. Because of that marker, they're recommending an abdominal CT scan—to double-check the pancreas—along with a full blood count. Honestly, I’m not feeling any actual pain right now, but I am incredibly anxious about all of this. If anyone has dealt with something similar or knows what this might mean, please let me know.
My apologies if my previous message was a bit muddled—let me clarify things. I just got back from the lab, and here is what the results are showing:
My GGT came in at 105, while the standard range is 11-55; my MCV is 105 against a normal 83.0-97.2; and my MCH is 34.4 when it should be between 27.4 and 33.9. On top of that, my Ca 19-9 tumor marker is elevated at 66.7, compared to the usual 33. Just for context—I don't smoke at all, and I've been being very disciplined with my diet lately. The report suggests these levels could point toward toxic damage (given the high GGT and MCV), even though my liver's metabolic function seems fine. They've recommended an abdominal CT scan. I would truly appreciate any help or advice you all might have. Thanks, fadedmarlin402.
I am looking for some guidance on how to manage toxic damage—specifically regarding elevated GGT, MCV, and CA 19-9 levels. My metabolic liver function appears to be within the normal range, which is a relief! However, I was wondering if there are any specific herbal teas that might help support the recovery process? Thank you so much for your help!
Hello everyone. I recently had some lab work done, and I’ve discovered that several of my levels are out of the ordinary: my GGT came back at 105, whereas the standard range is 11-55.
My MCV is sitting at 105—the normal range being 83.0-97.2.
Additionally, my MCH is 34.4, while the norm is 27.4-33.9.
Most concerningly, my CA 19-9 tumor marker hit 66.7, compared to the usual limit of 33.
I don't drink alcohol and I'm a non-smoker—in fact, I've been sticking strictly to a very disciplined diet lately! Despite my healthy habits, I've been referred for an MSCT scan. To be perfectly honest, I am quite anxious about this whole situation. If anyone here has any insight or experience with similar results, I would be incredibly grateful for your perspective.
Dustymarlin10, thanks so much!
Hello everyone. I am 40 years old. I just finished up some lab work.
My MCV came back at 105—the standard range is usually 83.0–97.2.
My MCH is 34.4, while the normal level is 27.4–33.9.
GGT is sitting at 105, which is quite high compared to the typical 11–55 range.
To make matters more stressful, my Ca 19-9 tumor marker hit 66.7—well above the normal 33 limit. Because of this, I've already been scheduled for an MSCT scan.
I am incredibly worried—honestly, I haven't even been able to sleep! If anyone here has dealt with something similar, or if you have any insight at all, please reach out. Is it possible for these numbers to return to a normal state? Please, I would truly appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you.
Terry Ramos7. Does anyone happen to have any insight on this?
