Hi there, I was hoping someone could help me out a little bit.

Following my orthopedist's recommendation, I went ahead and had an EMG, an X-ray, and an MRI done on my left foot. The radiology report says, ".... sharply demarcated, condensed bone structures measuring approximately 20 mm are visible cortically and endostally in the proximal phalanx of the toe, indicating sclerosis (clinical finding? previous trauma? osteoid osteoma?). No signs of bone structure partitioning were found in the other bones of the foot..."

Could anyone please explain what they mean by cortical and endosteal sclerosis in the proximal phalanx of the toe?

I was wondering if anyone here has dealt with tarsal tunnel syndrome... specifically, how you all went about treating it? I'm curious if things like steroid injections actually make a difference, or if surgery ends up being the most common way to finally get some relief from the issue...
