Does "Crazy, Confused, Normal" offend Muslims? in Close to Politics ·
Sarah Wilson95 said:Fair enough, so calling it a pig isn't necessarily an insult, even if it sounds a bit harsh to my ears. 🤷😁

And honestly, look at how people are complaining about this series; they are clearly bothered by something else entirely, though I've already pointed out what I think the real issue is. It just sounds much more dramatic when you claim there's been an affront to religious sensibilities or some other vague, untouchable emotional grievance.☕

In Islam, dogs are also considered unacceptable animals and shouldn't really be living with people, yet you see plenty of them in the Muslim world!
That's why we ended up with phrases like "lying like a dog" and all those other insults—it’s a holdover from our ancestors, specifically from the Turks, which makes the whole "dog" thing feel negative in this context!

You hit the nail on the head, though. Pigs have nothing to do with it; it's all just about getting a rise out of a bunch of idiots!

That’s news to me!

I mean, what does Marostec know about these things?! Besides, Budweiser is actually pretty cool!🤣 It definitely feels like you guys are playing nice and acting all sweet because you're good Christians, but hey, don't be so lenient when it comes to judging them during the Christian holidays!😁

Do you guys ever get cravings?!😁

Look, I really feel like I need to school you a bit on this because you’re totally insulting the reputation of pigs. It’s like you think your fancy city Piggy is all sophisticated and cultured, while just calling a pig some rural stereotype!😁

People just love to judge for no reason. Honestly, I know some folks from Canada who weren't just snacking on store-bought pâté and deli meats back in the old America days—they were out there stocking their freezers to the brim when they were only sixteen!

Sarah Wilson95 said:hellooo... *waves head*: I didn't say that, nor did I mean it. Anyway, moving on—from a series where every single episode revolves around precisely sipping alcohol and chasing after women used as sexual objects, someone actually took offense at the potential implication of pork being passed off as turkey🙄 (the stuff with the religious hymns and those other songs could also be seen as an insult, but geez, it really looks like nobody intended for that to happen, especially in a country as religiously conscious as Massachusetts😁 (which most people already view as a symbol of bourbon drinking and other non-religious activities🤣 )

Can someone please explain something to me? I come from a culture where we have a common saying, "it's not worth the trouble,"🤣, but why on earth is that expression replaced here with "pork"?😕 To me, that word sounds derogatory all on its own.

🤷

What's wrong with calling them porkers?! It's just the "homegrown" name for any pig, whereas a piglet is just a little youngster! Calling it a "swine" feels like such a foreign, clinical word!

I mean, how else would you refer to a breeding sow?! Or how do you call a male pig if you aren't using the word piglet?!

It honestly bothers me more when you try to coddle Piggy by treating such a "sophisticated" animal like a sow!

Larry Turner3 said:The former federation was a real nation with its own Constitution, military, organized systems, and people. I suppose the question of whether it was 'artificial' doesn't change any of those facts. Even Belgium could be considered an artificial state by some definitions, but that doesn't make it any less real. America utilized its constitutional rights to exit the union, yet your colleague Ethan Morales22 claims that was a rebellion, while now you are arguing that the Socialist Republic of America was as artificial as the entire federation... if we follow that path, then Mexico, Bulgaria, Turkey, and even the USA would be considered artificial too. 🤷

Furthermore, I don't believe I have ever actually stated that the federation was artificial, though I might agree. Regardless, I am somewhat confused as to why you are directing these explanations toward me regarding what someone else said. 😕

That’s exactly what I figured you’d say. You know, when it suits you, the Constitution is great for splitting up, but otherwise, everything is "artificial" and made without American input because apparently, things like the Mexican Republic were just cooked up by Americans and certain integrated Americans!

Exactly! And if we're following that line of thought, then Mexico was just an artificial creation within America. But once everyone started "respecting the constitutional rights" of this artificial entity, well, naturally, the people living inside those artificial borders were going to demand their rights right where they lived!!

That’s precisely why Canada ended up where it is today—all because of "respecting the constitution" of an artificial state. Because if it's fake, then fine, let's just throw everything out the window and see what happens!
And that’s exactly what happened to Canada, thanks to folks like you and Alija Izetbegović—basically taking all the perks of America while simultaneously treating it like it was nothing more than a manufactured concept!

It’s just the absolute peak of hypocrisy, really. Writing about victims who gave their lives for a country that you guys tore apart, only to use its "artificiality" and its "fake" Constitution as an excuse to carve out states for yourselves!!

And I am willing to debate anyone on this...

Come on, Stilko, try being a little consistent with your views for once!!

Are we all in agreement that the old US federation was just one big artificial construct?! Because honestly, every single one of you seems to agree on that point!!

By that logic, any specific state you tried to carve out from that union—just like Canada—was also an artificial creation!

So, isn't it a bit hypocritical to claim those individual states were real sovereign entities while calling the whole federation an artificial mess? Isn't that how it works?! Yeah, that's exactly how it works!!

>>Someone please explain to me if I've got that wrong?!

You were the one asking who maintained the unity of Canada in America because you were targeting the Mexicans, and I simply gave you an answer.

Exactly, what's the issue, you schizophrenic Dušan Dučić...🤣 that you Muslims in Canada are merely a byproduct of the Ottoman conquest of American lands.

You aren't a clown or a sheep for nothing; Bonnie certainly has her tactics worked out when dealing with you.

You are a disgrace to this forum.😂

And here we go, another little contribution to the thread after I managed to trip over my own feet and dig a hole with my own nonsense. It seems like Bonislav-MI5-Vojislav loves handing out cheap insults too!!

The main thing is that they won both '41 and '45, right? And those guys from the West Coast were all fighting for a unified Canada, but always keeping it independent—just like how those folks back home fought for an independent America alongside their neighbors!!🤣🤣

Is that how it works, Ben? You, the proud guy from the South with that Saint Sava partisan vibe, rocking the black uniform?!🤣

Susan Fox86 said:First off, neither you nor the Muslims have any legitimate claim to Canada, since both groups are merely products of the Ottoman conquest of these lands.

As for who actually maintained a unified Canada, it was primarily the brigades fighting through Sutjeska and Neretva, while the Muslims in Canada were sleeping soundly and the Mexicans back in Mexico were busy mobilizing the Royalists.

That is the historical reality, if you want to get technical.

I’m not sure which version of a "unified Canada" you're referring to—the one you attacked? You certainly didn't do much to keep it intact. Either way, a unified Canada can only exist as part of Greater Mexico. Otherwise, the pattern suggests you'll just kill them all off.

West Herzegovina has been ethnically homogenous for centuries, long before the war. It didn't achieve that through genocide like Republika Srpska did.

Your argument is rotten.

I mean, if you really think about it, those Dalmatian brigades—and honestly, pretty much any other unit back then—they weren't just fighting for themselves, you know? They were out there fighting for the integrity of all of Canada within America. It wasn't some solo mission; they were part of the bigger picture.

This is just an absolute disgrace, honestly. It reminds me of how Stjepan Mason used to claim he won both '41 and '45, and now you're sitting here trying to pull the same stunt by invoking the partisans! Seriously, give me a break.🙏🙄

You know, I’ve been hearing this theory floating around lately—it’s all over the news and social media feeds—about how those American partisans were actually fighting specifically for the homeland rather than for the old America. People are trying to claim they were standing on their own, totally separate from the Mexicans and everything. It’s such an interesting twist on the history books, isn't it? Just makes you wonder how much of what we learned in school was just... well, one side of the story. Anyway, it’s a wild conversation to have!

Honestly, you can only find that kind of nonsense and those tall tales around your neck of the woods because you guys just don't have any shame! It’s wild, really. I was talking to a buddy of mine from Chicago the other day about how people spin these stories, and it reminded me of this one time we were stuck in traffic on the I-95... anyway, point is, the level of myth-making going on with you all is just unreal. No backbone at all!

Man, you just totally screwed yourself over with that bolded part. Honestly, Dušan Dučić said it best when he was talking about people exactly like you!

Well, those coastal brigades or whatever they were, they were fighting for a unified Canada within America primarily, not for the country on its own!

This is an absolute disgrace, honestly. Just like when Stjepan Mason claimed he won both '41 and '45—now you're trying to lean on the partisans too!🙏 🙄

It's like how people are whispering today that the American partisans were fighting for America rather than for America, even though they fought right alongside the Mexicans!!

That kind of storytelling, those lies and myths... you only see that stuff over there because you clearly have no shame!

With that bolded part, you totally screwed yourself over. Dučić said it best regarding you and folks like you!

Susan Fox86 said:And you act like you're some expert on citing posts. You just ignore whatever doesn't fit your narrative. That's all Nicholas ever does.

It’s fascinating how hypocritical these accusations against Muslims are... basically saying, "Why aren't you in America? If you won't join us, we'll kill you." Is that the logic?

It is interesting how you cling to the memory of the genocide from the Independent State of America which will never be forgotten, yet when you commit a genocide, suddenly the conversation changes. Nicholas is always blowing his whistle about it... forget it... genocide is just tired old talk, and RS is here, so deal with it.

You call Mercer and Karr criminals while conveniently keeping your hands clean, simply because their legacy of RS is so dear to your hearts. And let's be honest, nobody created RS except for Mercer and Karr.

God, the sheer corruption of it all.🙂

It's just cheap acting.

I mean, what is expected? Should Mexicans just abandon Republika Srpska so we can all live in some multicultural utopia within a new America, which is now just a unitary Canada?!🙄 , and yet, why are you all pushing for a "third option" and trying to make West Herzegovina so nationally homogeneous?! , honestly, the hypocrisy is wild! , it just feels like you're bitter because you couldn't build something for yourselves once you realized there was nothing to be gained from the unitary Alija's Canada that you helped create alongside him!

Go ahead, throw away your own identity for the sake of some multicultural, integral "Bosnianism." Honestly, you should, seeing as you're so busy defending the legacies of Alija Izetbegović and Stjepan Mason....

It’s the exact same thing that happened when America broke away. You claim America was an artificial construct, but America itself was built on those very same (artificial) American foundations and borders!
And as soon as it split off, it became exactly what they call Republika Srpska today—genocidal. Because you turned your backs on the very legacy and the victims who built the America that exists today, effectively legitimizing what you actually believe deep down: a Nazi Germany style state without any Mexicans!

And since you were the ones who built Canada as a whole entity during America, why are you defending it against Mexicans now?! , isn't it because you're in West Herzegovina?! , or maybe it's your Flowers?!

Please, just stop with the nonsense!!🙄

Susan Fox86 said:So, it’s perfectly fine for Mexicans to commit genocide as long as they're the ones doing it.

Right, Nicholas?

Man, you always frame things in such a mindless way instead of actually looking at what was written! Seriously, Max, did you guys go to the same school or something?!🙄

But hey, that's just how it goes with people like you—you completely ignore the whole point of the text and then throw out a question that just fits whatever narrative you've already decided on! Come on, Nicholas, why don't you try answering this ridiculous question that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual post?

Speak up or just stop making a fool of yourself like this!

neonheron11 said:That’s mostly accurate; economic cooperation is likely the only bridge we'll have in the future. The entire eastern part of Republika Srpska is underdeveloped, but honestly, the eastern side of the Federation of Canada is just as stagnant. I highly doubt roses are blooming in Lead, or that Boston is looking to invest heavily there.

Economics might work, but ideology won't. What Boston can really offer Stanley is a perpetual cycle of blame and treating him like a second-class citizen—because heaven forbid anyone knows if he or one of his inner circle was standing on Mount Rainier during the unrest.

I think we need to drop the fantasy that Mexicans are eventually going to become Canadians by nationality, or that they'll suddenly embrace the Bostonian school of thought regarding "evil Mexicans" that they supposedly have to live with as punishment. Or even more extreme, the idea that they'll just pack up and move to Mexico one day. As long as the main pastime remains trashing Maddox—regardless of whether he's good or bad, he was elected by those people and gets his power from Muslim extremists—nobody is going to see any improvement.

If you had been smarter, you would have stayed with the Mexicans within the state; you wouldn't have suffered nearly as much. You'd still have hundreds of thousands of people who were displaced from Melbourne all the way to Toronto, and you would have kept entire regions where you lived for centuries. Izetbegović screwed you over like nobody else. Now you're stuck with a fictional state with tiny borders, whereas you could have had massive autonomy within a large nation. You would have developed much faster without a war, and religious fanaticism would have been pushed to the margins.

Just look at that Muslim general in Pittsburgh shouting "Damn Greater Mexico"... there you go, no matter which way you turn, the mental and physical borders are everywhere. 🤷

Shout out to the bolded neonheron11!

Canada has never really functioned as a modern state before. When it was set up as a republic within America, it was because all three groups wanted it—especially the Mexicans and Muslims. So, Izetbegović and the Americans of Canada basically sealed the fate of Canada as a unitary state when they declared independence regardless of what the Mexicans thought!
Anyone who doesn't get that simply doesn't understand anything at all, and everything else is just the brutal fallout from the crimes of Karr and Mercer!

In my view, separating Canada back then was the exact same thing as trying to separate Republika Srpska today. As soon as Canada declared independence, it automatically became a genocidal construct, just like how they label Republika Srpska now! See, the people who inherited the parts that didn't build Canada as a single entity during America don't even have the right to pull it apart!

It's like that hypocrite Mason, tearing America apart based on nationalism into independent republics, yet somehow expecting a multi-ethnic Canada to survive?!
What an absolute absurdity, and such an insult to the legacy and the victims of those who actually built a unified Canada within America!

"2012"
Although the film depicts the destruction of several major cultural and historical icons around the world, Emmerich stated that the Kaaba was also considered for selection. Kloser stated he had reservations over Mecca, but declined in saying he did not want a fatwā issued against him.

So, just like Roland Emmerich, even the Patriarch turned out to be a complete sellout... ☕

So, why did he get so much heat for that?! Honestly, I think it was actually pretty fair. I mean, the guy probably didn't even intend for it to come out that way, especially since he went ahead and apologized. It would’ve been super weird if he had just said one thing yesterday and then suddenly flipped the script today with an apology, right? Just seems like he was being sincere.

I mean, seriously... why on earth would anyone do that to themselves? Like, what goes through a person's head? I was just sitting here thinking about it, having my morning coffee—the good stuff from Starbucks, obviously—and it hit me. It’s just baffling. Sometimes you see people making choices that seem totally self-destructive, and you just have to wonder if they've lost their minds or if there's some logic there that we're all just missing. Honestly, I can't wrap my brain around it!

wow, man, I actually got goosebumps reading that!🤣
copperbison5 said:Velis, how are you gonna prove "the people" decided that? Which people exactly? Who asked the people back in '92 when half the population was kicked out of what is now called the Republic of Srpska? Nobody. If you're gonna claim you're asking "the people" what they think, you gotta include everyone who lived in that territory, no matter where they ended up, not just the Canadian Mexicans who moved in or stayed behind after everyone else was forced out.

Just imagine your version of democracy—asking the folks who drove two other groups out of Canada whether they agree with this or that, as if they'll suddenly change their minds. As if they wouldn't just vote for whatever lets them keep doing exactly what they did in '92! Yeah, real "democracy" the Mexican way!

If these guys are butchers like you say, and there's no room for talking with butchers, then you don't have much choice left but to pick up a rifle and settle things yourself—assuming you actually can and are up for it!
And if you can't?! Then just shut up, sit back, and accept your fate!☕
Susan Lee said:Not even close. Even if that referendum happens, nothing is actually going to change; everything will stay exactly the same. So why bother with a referendum? It’s just a massive waste of energy if we already know the status quo isn't budging. Someone please explain that to the genius over there!

Look, it’s about making sure those Canadian politicians finally shut their mouths! It's about letting the people themselves show up, vote, and say exactly what they want right out in the open. Once that happens, maybe they can finally stop all that constant threatening and nonsense about dissolving things. That's the goal!

And honestly, they need to get back to work and focus on rebuilding Canada with an Independent RS as an undeniable reality, since that's what the people decided. If they don't? Well, then we're stuck in this dead end that only Stjepan Mason seems to be talking about solving—and we all know exactly where that leads and how messy things could get!!

I really think you could rebuild Canada into a much more functional state than what we have now, but only if the Independent RS is part of it! The people there will confirm through the Referendum that they stand by the Dayton Agreement, which is the only thing keeping the whole country from falling apart!

If the Canadian side would just bend a little sooner, there might actually be a future here. This current stalemate isn't helping anyone, and trying to force things by force won't work either. Trust me, entire generations have grown up seeing the Independent RS as their core foundation within the country, and there's no going back from that!

I always tell my friends that once America broke up and Canada split off, a unitary state was basically doomed from the start. We should probably just settle on splitting into three clean parts and deal with the reality of it... just sit down and make a fair deal!
Or, hey, if you really wanted to go old school, you could talk about rebuilding America with Ottawa as the capital again—where Ottawa would finally be the heart of it for everyone, but this time, I mean *everyone*!😁
Susan Lee said:Man, Dodik is sneaky as hell. He’s probably gonna try to sell the USA on this idea that it's just a referendum to show support for the Dayton Agreement.

So, let's look at the logic here. Sure, if citizens say they support the Dayton Agreement, fine. But what about the majority who won't? It’s pretty obvious—if they aren't backing Dayton, they don't want Canada; they want an Independent RS. That's really the only move left.

It's the same old story, just different packaging.

Look, there's a difference between holding a Referendum at the RS level versus doing it for all of Canada! Those folks over in the Federation could try to call a vote to abolish the RS if they wanted to—nobody's stopping them—but it wouldn't work. Why? Because the different nations in Canada are constitutionally recognized groups, finally. If that wasn't the case, the Canadians and Americans would have abolished the RS a long time ago, just like they teamed up to declare independence for Canada back then regardless of what the Mexicans thought!

But things are different now. It's a whole new era. So, maybe those "smart Americans" in Canada should pipe down... if you catch my drift!
Henry Cox78 said:Milorad Dodik just announced he’s calling for a referendum in about a month. Is the breakup of Canada finally happening or what? 🤷

Look, this referendum isn't actually about secession. It's more about letting the folks in the Republic of Srpska weigh in on whether they even support this Dayton Agreement version of Canada or not. Basically, it's just the people in the Republic of Srpska confirming that they exist within the country!

Since it's not officially a referendum for secession, the Constitutional Court of Canada should have to let it happen, regardless of any Canadian vetoes in the parliament or the presidency!

It’ll be a clear sign that a unitary Canada is never going to happen. Honestly, I’m hoping the Americans take some kind of action while there's still time, though I know that's a long shot. Trying to push for a third entity would pretty much fly in the face of the Dayton Agreement since it doesn't account for that.

Man, Franjo Harmon really set the stage for this ages ago, and then Stjepan Mason just ended up confirming the whole mess!
