Why did Jesus die? in Religion ·
Benjamin Taylor6 said:The reality is that the Church is now embracing evolution. But I’ve noticed they’re also willing to bend over backward regarding the whole story of Adam and Eve and Original Sin. These poor souls don't realize that using allegory for one thing completely dismantles their entire Biblical framework. Eventually, the Bible is going to turn into an allegory of an allegory of an allegory. At that point, why even bother? It'll just be some glorified bedtime story for adults.

So, even if he doesn't say it out loud in an official statement or anything, John Paul II basically made it clear that you can't just toss evolution aside—he stood his ground on that one! It’s funny how things work out sometimes, isn't it? One minute you think there's a total clash, and the next, everything starts to click together. It reminds me of this time I was reading through some old theology books at the library in Chicago, just trying to make sense of how science and faith play together. Anyway, yeah, he really did stand by that idea.🤣
And now both the Catholics and the Orthodox are starting in with all that talk about symbolism and other nonsense regarding the Book of Genesis!
And look, when we’re talking about the Resurrection, that is just the absolute, plain truth. I don't care what the evolution crowd tries to tell you or how much they argue against it—it's a totally different story! It's like when I was reading that science journal last week, and honestly, it just didn't sit right with me. At the end of the day, faith is one thing, and those theories are another entirely.

It’s honestly wild when you think about it. The corruption within the church—all those layers of lies they tell just to protect their own power and keep that massive institution standing—it really does reach levels of chaos I didn't think were possible. It’s pretty intense. And what’s even crazier? They manage to wiggle their way into every single little detail of a modern person's life. Even when things completely clash with common sense or go totally against anything rational, they still find a way to slip in there. It's like they have this knack for making the illogical feel normal, no matter how much it contradicts everything we actually know to be true. Just something I've been chewing on lately while grabbing my morning coffee. Truly mind-boggling stuff.

Honestly, those people are just creepy. They can look themselves in the mirror and lie through their teeth—to themselves and everyone else—without a single shred of shame. It’s wild, really. And honestly? It's not even surprising when you think about how they've been doing this stuff for centuries. But nowadays, they’ve gotten way more calculated. They’ve become all "rational" and polished about it, which actually makes it even more terrifyingly stupid if you ask me!

Benjamin Taylor6 I didn't catch what was said there! It looks like the message got cut off or maybe I missed the memo. If you were trying to share something, go ahead and drop it again—I'm all ears!
I mean, look, a billion people believe it! It’s just like how you know snow is white, right? It's an absolute given. Total fact.😲

See, that’s exactly where they trip up. It’s like, look, even a regular believer can look outside at a blizzard and say, "Hey, that snow is white," right? That's just common sense. You use your brain, you see the color, you move on. But when it comes to the big stuff—like knowing for a fact that Jesus rose from the dead—that's not something you just stumble upon by looking out a window. Nobody actually *knows* that through pure logic or observation alone, except for what's written in the New Testament. And yet, they just take it as absolute gospel without a second thought! It's wild how that works.

Look, if you look at things from my perspective, most Christians around here don't actually buy that the whole world was just whipped up in six days about 7,000 years ago. You know, that idea where God takes a breather on the seventh day after finishing everything in Genesis? It’s just not what most people think. I remember talking to a buddy of mine over coffee last week—we were sitting in this little diner in Chicago—and we were chatting about how much science and faith overlap these days. Anyway, whenever someone tries to throw that literalist view at them, they usually just shut down and say...Don't take that too literally, honestly. It’s really just symbolism. It belongs to an era where people weren't exactly raised with the kind of formal education we have today. I remember my old history teacher back in high school used to say something similar about how we interpret old texts—it's all about the context of the time, you know? Just look at the big picture.!!
But look, when you start talking about the Resurrection, the whole "it's just a metaphor" argument goes right out the window. There's no more debating symbols or deep meanings for them—it’s just a straight-up, undeniable fact. I mean, that's the entire bedrock of their faith! Without it, the whole thing just falls apart. It's the one thing they won't budge on.

If you want to talk about something that’s totally irrational and defies all logic, we have to talk about Jesus’ death and resurrection!

I mean, think about it. You’ve got an almighty God—someone who is supposed to be all-powerful—choosing to send Jesus, who is actually Himself, just to carry out a suicide mission to pay for human sins!🤣

To me, these are just plain facts, and honestly, it’s where the whole argument ends right there. It just goes to show how incredibly imaginative the human mind can be, fueled by these wild hallucinations about an all-powerful God who, for some reason, felt the need to pull off something so nonsensical!
The elections in Canada won't actually happen until they finally settle on how to split up the country internally!

Ottawa can pretty much kiss any sense of superiority or acting like the big shot capital goodbye—well, at least from the perspective of the Canadian people and their specific entity!

Republika Srpska is just a plain, undeniable fact at this point; trying to question its existence is basically a waste of breath!
If the Americans play it smart, they’ll leverage things to secure their own entity in West Herzegovina. Now, they can probably forget about getting Posavina, but given how things are looking right now with the political players from both the American and Mexican sides actually getting along due to clear needs, you could say the Americans won't even bother questioning Republika Srpska. Honestly, if they start poking at that, they might lose out on what they *can* get, which would be West Herzegovina and maybe some parts of Central Canada if they can strike a deal with the folks in the Federation!

Once everyone gets their fair slice of the pie, then we can actually start moving forward. Because let me tell you, if anything feels even remotely like one group is dominating another, we're all just going right back to square one!

George Booth58 said:Could you maybe, oh great intellect, point out where I actually mentioned the Mexican people as a group wanting to reconcile?

It's those corporations forcing it—just like you said—to chase bigger markets, and you bots, too, since you need it for the European Union. No one is imposing reconciliation on us.

Besides, you guys were the ones who started this thread by saying you aren't wanted... your corporate leaders are the ones complaining that we won't let them into the market.🤷

Well, you used the word "us" when you said, "Reconcile us with the Mexicans." You can only reconcile a group using plural terms like that, unless you think the American people should be "reconciled" with Tadić and those corporate big shots!

That’s why I asked how anyone could force reconciliation on you, since you're part of that "us," without it being forced!

The whole reason this thread exists is because of this ridiculous situation where America claims to be open for business, but then everything gets blocked. It's all being stalled for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with actual peace-making!

As far as I'm concerned—and honestly, most Mexicans feel the same way—we couldn't care less. It's not our problem if some Mexican tycoons or small-time businessmen want to invest in America or boost their exports.

George Booth58 said:It isn't even about having an issue with Mexican goods—we just find ourselves pushing back because they seem tied to that aggressive rhetoric we're trying to avoid.

Forced reconciliation?! Man, what on earth are you talking about?! Who's actually trying to make peace here?! I haven't seen anyone on either side even attempting to shake hands!
And honestly, how is anyone even supposed to "force" a peace deal like that anyway?!🙄

I swear, if our local corporate fat cats—the kind of guys who'd sell their own mothers for a quick buck—actually put a massive warning on their packaging like, "Smoking is bad for you" or "Sorry for everything, please just buy our stuff," they totally would. They'd slap it right on a pack of Marlboros!
But would you actually buy it? 1, personally, I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole because I know they're lying through their teeth!

So, let's stop beating around the bush with this whole idea of "forced peace" when the other side isn't even looking for an olive branch to begin with!🙄

George Booth58 said:My dad was recently on a business trip in New York City—I really wanted to tag along, but college kept me stuck here—and he brought back some ajvar, kajmak, roasted peppers, and stuff like that from this gourmet deli in NYC. Honestly, without a second thought, they’re way better than any of our store-bought versions, and they might even hold their own against homemade stuff. 🙏 🙏

Most of what you find in grocery stores is just commercial junk. What you're talking about is exactly what both our markets need more of!
I mean, why are we both stuck with the same mindless filler products anyway?

Like, imagine if we imported high-quality authentic sausage from the Midwest, or really decent wines and fish... then you guys could send us real kajmak—not that mass-produced crap they churn out by the ton, but the actual real deal. That’s how it should be!

When you head up to the Appalachian Mountains or hit a specialty shop that carries genuine goods, you finally see the point of trade. It shouldn't be about clogging up each other's shelves with the exact same garbage!

If you ever visit some grandma down in Mexico and buy some aged rind cheese or cheese straight from a goatskin bag, you'll know what the real thing tastes like. But hey, I guess people have been conditioned to think that buying cheap crap at a local farmer's market is somehow better than what's in a supermarket!

Matthew Rodriguez9 said:Joe, honestly, it’s all the same story.

You guys aren't exporting any less than we are.

We just need to look at things objectively... a little more common sense and we'll be golden. ☕

It’s actually twice as much that we export to America compared to what America exports to Mexico!! But honestly, the real issue isn't just the export numbers—it's the lack of Mexican companies showing up in America. You barely see them there, and that's where the real headache lies!

Mexico has way bigger resources across most manufacturing sectors than America does, which is a real opportunity for America since they used to hide out in Mexico. But it has to be a two-way street, you know? It’s in your best interest too, get it?!

Henry Cox78 said:Look, I’ve got Perfex toilet paper right here at home from Mexico City, and sometimes stuff from Banja Luka too. 🤣I grab Smoki snacks from wherever, and some candy bars—used to be that Pioneer brand. I can't remember everything off the top of my head, but it's definitely there.

Oh wow, okay, I didn't realize there was that much variety! Around here, we basically just have Ronhill and that's about it!🤣

p.s
Do me a favor and stock up on that Perfex, man! Don't go being stingy with it like the Canadians do—help us boost the economy!!😁

Henry Cox78 said:Look, man. If your Delta opened a shopping mall here in Cleveland, they’d kill it. There aren't many big malls around here yet, so the profit would be huge. If needed, Koch and I can work something out so I can be their boss in America. I promise him a great paycheck. 😁

We couldn't care less about you and Koch making a buck by opening a grocery store in Cleveland. What actually matters is whether they can use that place—along with all the others—to push Mexican products, which are hard to find lately, right?!

Those monopoly-loving crooks are always reporting, moving, and selling off companies through places like the Seychelles just so they can dodge paying taxes both here and over there!

Henry Cox78 said:I'm not talking nonsense. Anyone watching CNN can see how often they run those agitprop pieces targeting American investors and companies. Every single article is packed with these baseless claims about issues with Mexican exports and how Americans are boycotting Mexican goods. They even claim the boycott amounts to $300 million a year. 😁

Wait, what consumer goods are we actually importing from Mexico?! Seriously, give me some examples so I can figure out exactly what Americans are blowing through all that cash on!

David Rogers18 said:Honestly, I don't think this is about nationalism at all. If you look at how much companies from Canada, North Mexico, Albania, or Mexico are actually investing in America, it’s basically zero.
Even if you look at the numbers, American investment in Canada is tiny compared to how much Canadian money flows into America.

I actually felt pretty good when I saw a segment on PBS showing how a Mexican company from Texas—owned 100% by a Mexican—put their money into a pig farm right here in the Midwest.
Maybe it sounds a bit silly, like, who cares about pig farms when we're constantly hearing about those local Tycoons making massive acquisitions over in Mexico, but I’m totally all for this kind of thing.

I've got nothing against Mexican capital coming into America, especially if they're focusing on actual production and building things.

You're trying to compare the businesses in those countries, but man, let's be real—they're tiny compared to the scale of the Mexican economy and those huge Mexican corporations! Not to mention the sheer number of companies there!

I'm no expert on the specifics, but it seems pretty obvious that investing in America gets stalled out constantly. Even your own people admit it; I actually heard someone mentioning it tonight when Tadić stopped by!

I shop at Walmart (which is basically your Konzum), and even the cheapest Budweiser is cheaper there—it's usually around 52-53 cents everywhere else, but there? It's only 44!!😁

Matthew Rodriguez9 said:Exactly... what can you do? Just the usual sob story about vulnerable Mexicans in the neighborhood...🤣

The USA actually exports twice as much to the USA as they do back, but honestly, that isn't even the main issue here—it's more about how those American companies are investing heavily right there on the ground!

Do you really think the USA is just going to sit there and take these ridiculous stunts? Like, why would they let American companies set up shop over there while being blocked from working in the USA?! If things keep going down this path, I wouldn't be surprised if the USA decides to push back. They could easily tank the USA's exports or mess with their businesses over there. And hey, that could end up hurting you guys quite a bit, since we're talking about risking something like 15,000 jobs locally!

Cut the nonsense, Grunfo! Honestly, that was one of the biggest talking points in all of Chicago when Tadić made his visit today!
Even your local news outlets are covering it because they know it's the truth!
They don't want us here in Close to Politics ·
Honestly, I’m not one to go around calling people liars—if they say it happened that way, I truly believe they're telling the truth!

So, what’s the move here? Like, what should Americans actually do about this situation, because the ball is really in their court!
The current administration seems terrified of getting slapped with some nasty label from the nationalists—you know, the whole "they're just shoveling favors to Mexicans and selling out the country" kind of rhetoric.

Maybe if Mexico threatened to slap massive tariffs on imports or squeeze those companies that have invested heavily there, it might shake things up. We're talking about potentially putting 15,000 jobs at risk in America!

But look, that’s definitely not the answer. Instead, this government needs to stop overthinking everything and just let the business owners and entrepreneurs get back to work!
Angelina Jolie is filming a movie set in the USA in Close to Politics ·
northerncyclist9 said:I guess it never occurred to Angelina to make a movie about an American soldier falling for an Iraqi woman during the height of the war in Iraq; instead, she chose to focus on some wild, intense North American man and a conflict that ended ages ago.
Even we "primitive" outsiders have feelings, which I suppose will be quite the revelation for American zombies raised on nothing but fast food, popcorn, and Coca-Cola.

The issue isn't really Angelina herself, though. It's more about this creepy fascination our media, regular people, and even politicians have with her. They just see a perfect opportunity for cheap Hollywood ego trips.

It’s always the same cycle—will she show up or not? Did Sletela land the plane? Was Brad Pitt there? Did she visit refugees or just go out to dinner? Did she burp? Did she meet someone? Did Harris accept it? Did Rade or Mitrovic say something?

It’s just relentless media brainwashing and a massive display of mediocrity.
I don't know what we've come to...

The script would be perfect if a few American military widows went searching for their husbands in Iraq, and along the way, they all fall for the same terrorist and marry him. Then the whole movie shows how the terrorists were actually right because there's no other way to fight the USA, and how love for this freedom fighter won them over despite him killing their husbands—plus, of course, that newfound love for religion, you know, love for Allah!

The comments here are just ridiculous. It’s like people are actually picturing these scenes playing out in their heads whenever someone mentions pigs!

It's like they're thinking, "I'd honestly rather die than eat pork for the rest of my life and risk missing out on paradise because of some stupid food!" 🤣!

They’re genuinely terrified, like there's a group of pigs just waiting around the corner to jump them or something!😁
