I know there’s already a massive thread about hair loss going on, but I figured this might just get swallowed up in all that noise if I posted it there...
So, I’ve been using Rogaine foam for about 9 months now and I’m definitely seeing some progress. But honestly, I want to add finasteride into the mix to actually slow down the shedding rather than just masking it like minoxidil does. I was browsing through some hair loss forums and saw people talking about having these horrific side effects, blah blah blah... I don't really buy into all that fear-mongering, though. And even if someone does experience something, who knows what else could be causing it? Especially when you're already hyper-focused on it, you start blaming every little thing on the finasteride...
My question is—how many of you guys here are actually on finasteride? Did you run into any side effects, or were you good? Also, how long did it take before you noticed an actual difference, and did you deal with that initial shedding phase that usually happens with minoxidil right at the start?

P.S. Just so I don't have to start yet another thread... can you actually find Rogaine foam in local CVS or Walgreens stores? Right now I'm stuck ordering it off eBay, but the shipping costs are basically the price of another bottle...
Nickname change (read first post!) in Forum Help! ·
Hey there

I was thinking about switching up my handle... mainly because people I know in real life recognize me by this one, you know, like if I were to give someone my Skype or something... so I wanted to ask if it would be possible to change my nick to coastaltrucker5—it’s still pretty much the same thing.

Alright then, just reach out to rustydrifter10.
Dealing with a painful boil/cyst in Health ·
Hey there

So, about a month ago, this weird little lump started forming right at the base of my lower back... kind of like a subcutaneous boil or something. It feels soft on the inside, but then you hit this thick, hardened ring of tissue around it. I started messing around with some topical ointment, and at first, the whole thing was pretty angry looking—bright red and huge, maybe 3 cm across. Eventually, it just popped on its own, but it wasn't even pus that came out, just this weird mix of fluid and blood... really gross. Now I've switched over to using some hydrocortisone, and it’s definitely shrunk down to maybe half a centimeter, but there's still a tiny bit of drainage and that hard, thickened skin just won't budge. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Everything I'm digging up online feels totally different from what's actually happening with me... just a bit lost here.
