Technically, everyone in The Band shared vocal duties, but they made it pretty clear in their namesake documentary that they always viewed Manuel as their frontman, so I’d say it fits the criteria just fine.
I'm glad you cleared that up. I was actually hesitating to bring this one up because, strictly speaking, The Band didn't have a designated lead singer. But man, this track is just incredible, especially this specific performance.
It’s worth noting that even the Beatles started out as a multi-vocal group without one single leader. It was really just Starr who ended up stepping back later on once they established the rule that the primary vocalist should be the actual songwriter.
