I respect the take, but I think that was the point.
It’s a tired cliché in cinema—the villain gets a long monologue, then the hero responds. It’s ridiculous; in half these movies, the villain and the lead could sit down for a Starbucks together and chat.
Modern films do this constantly, and don't even get me started on the eighties. Those movies were packed with this nonsense, yet we still love them.
It would be refreshing to see a main villain just take a bullet to the head without saying a single word.
In my view, they nailed that eighties vibe perfectly.
