Sanctions on Russia in War in Ukraine ·
Nancy Howard4 said:Man, you really need to do some homework on this because most of our grain producers and basically the whole European Union are feeling the squeeze, mostly because that grain didn't go to Africa—it was diverted toward the EU by a bunch of people looking to cash in on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Plus, you end up with situations where that grain doesn't even have proper certification or meet basic storage standards, because while everyone was busy putting Ukraine on a pedestal, they ignored the fact that it's essentially a developing nation riddled with corruption and lacking any standards comparable to the European Union.
The agricultural sector is already struggling as it is, so this is just the final blow, especially when you see how the Secretary is basically protecting the importers of this junk here in America
. But I guess that shouldn't be surprising, given she's already well-known to the FBI, so expecting her to be just another minister from a criminal organization headed straight for federal prison isn't really asking for much.

Look, you really need to make up your mind. Pick a side already—are you actually for Russia or are you standing with Ukraine? You can't just sit there hovering in the middle forever. Decide.
None of us are out here ranking Ukraine at the top of the list of well-organized democratic nations. Either people are being willfully ignorant, or they simply don't understand the reality of what’s happening over there—a country that has been absolutely gutted by decades of relentless harassment and systemic humiliation.
We aren't blind, and we certainly don't need a lecture on how capitalism works. Do you really think we all need you to step in and explain the basics or "open our eyes" to reality? Whether America looks one way or another isn't even the point here. Discussions about the US or the West aren't the central focus of this conversation, no matter how much you try to make them so.

My only stance on this is that Ukraine deserves a real shot at cleaning out the aggressor gang and finally attempting to build something meaningful out of their own nation.
If they actually manage to clear out all that aggressive trash from the system, they should be given a fair shot at implementing reforms and actually democratizing the country. But let’s be honest—given the current state of affairs, that’s just an impossibility.

If they decide to pull an "asset stripping" stunt—the kind of blatant robbery we’ve seen during various privatizations back home—I won't be sitting idly by. I'll be the very first person out there leading the charge against them.
I simply cannot turn a blind eye or play dumb regarding the reality of what people are forced to endure and live through on a daily basis.

This whole circus regarding Ukrainian grain—the kind they claim will "save starving Africans"—is a joke. Most of it just ends up sitting in Europe, all while they scramble to block any shipments coming out of Russia. Honestly, I highly doubt those African nations are particularly thrilled by such blatant hypocrisy.

This is a textbook case of twisting the truth and massaging facts to suit the agenda of Terroristan.

It’s as if grain only flows toward Eastern or Western Europe. As if we haven't seen thousands of ships and millions of tons of wheat, corn, or grain being sent to Africa, the Middle East, or any other corner of the globe that actually needed it.

And besides, look at how quickly things change; as soon as the farmers in Poland or Slovakia started protesting, they suddenly found a way to "fix" that problem too.

It’s the same pattern. Just like how we froze without Russian gas or stopped driving because of Russian oil, our agriculture and our farmers are headed for the exact same fate.

Between a fragile Russian economy and heavy-handed capital controls from China, both of their currencies are losing their luster on the global stage.

Here is an article regarding the recent attempts by Russia and China to "dedollarize" global markets:

The mass exodus of major global corporations from Russia continues:

Last year, I honestly thought we were looking at a return to the 1950s. Now? It’s starting to look more like a slide back into the 19th century.
I caught a report yesterday suggesting they might go as far as banning YouTube entirely in Russia, followed closely by a total ban on VPNs. If that happens, they aren't just cutting off the internet; they're effectively dragging themselves back into the Stone Age. 👍

The Russian government is looking at shutting down state institutions across Russia following a massive collapse in budget revenue—we’re talking a deficit exceeding $3 trillion by mid-March.

Turkey is slowly starting to tighten its borders regarding Russia. No matter how much history there is of Turks acting as smugglers or being part of the mafia—or just their general love for making a quick buck—they are finally beginning to close those gates. Let the propagandists threaten attacks while they’re still feeling weak, then.

Turkey is rejecting the Russian S-400 and refuses to help Moscow bypass sanctions. On March 8th, Turkey halted the transport of prohibited goods to Russia. Shipments included refrigeration units, audio-video equipment, auto parts, textiles, construction materials, and various other items "from the European Union sanctions list."

The sanctions aren't working because oil is being smuggled via aging tankers straight into markets across Asia, India, and Africa. It’s a completely different game than the transparent, legal transfers happening in the wealthiest Western markets.

Sometimes I honestly can't wrap my head around what people are posting here. Like, do you actually think this stuff is supposed to impress us, or are you just trying to gloss over the reality of the situation? 🙂

Look, there is a massive difference between legally transporting oil and just dumping it illegally in some random bay! It’s a completely different ballgame. Here is a quick breakdown regarding the smuggling of oil and diesel, which has recently come under heavy sanctions:

Russian oil companies are hitting major roadblocks trying to export diesel. Ever since February, they've been facing both the European Union embargo and those price caps imposed by the G7 countries.
As of March 5th, roughly 4.4 million barrels of diesel are effectively stuck out at sea, trapped inside vessels that have been converted into floating storage units.

I’m going to try to make my point one more time, since apparently, it hasn't sunk in yet. No one ever implements sanctions with the intention of causing an overnight collapse. That isn't how this works. Sanctions are designed as a slow grind, meant to gradually erode the economic and financial backbone of the target nation.

Yet, everyone stays fixated on oil. Nobody talks about gas. And nobody mentions the fact that virtually no major corporation wants anything to do with Russia anymore. Not a single serious financial institution is willing to take the risk.
What about all those massive Western corporations that pulled out of the Russian market entirely? Sure, maybe they were replaced by some budget knock-off version of McDonald's or Coca-Cola. But take a good, long look at the actual list of companies that exited the Russian market, then come back and tell me you don't feel the impact.

Apparently, squirrels are on the menu over in England now. At least, that’s what Putin’s propaganda machine wants us to believe.
They might lose a few pounds and feel a bit healthier, I suppose. Though, let’s be honest—you aren't getting nearly as much protein from squirrel meat as you would from a couple of eggs! 😉😉

Kudos to KRAVUN and stipest, huge congrats on the win. Pulling off the double crown is no small feat.
You two definitely need to find your rhythm before the Super Bowl arrives.

Big thanks to Black Ship for putting this all together. See you guys next year.

It’s essentially a coin toss at this point. Both squads are playing at an elite level, but if I have to lean one way, I’m giving the edge

🤣 🤣

Is there any way to read this list from the other side? ☕

Look, you've got the math all wrong here.
I started with five and added four more, which makes nine, not eight. It’s basic arithmetic, really.

Besides, I wouldn't mind sitting at the top of the leaderboard for once.😁

And there’s only one single attempt listed for the
Ravens😉, though I suspect that might just be a typo.

I only managed to get three bets in for the first round since I was running a bit behind schedule, but honestly, even if I had nailed all three, my position on the leaderboard wouldn't have shifted much anyway.

Kravun, congrats. You walked away with the moral victory here. 👍
