Complaint about ignored appeals & the prize giveaway giveaway in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I know how the adoption process works—probably better than most people over there. I’ve mentioned before that the topics are constantly rotating, and when users keep bumping threads with nothing but fluff, the order of dogs and cats shifts so chaotically that a potential adopter won't even be able to keep track of what's available...

You all just think you have everything under control... Enjoy yourselves while you can.

Oh, please. Of course they won't look out for their own... I never for a second doubted that you all would be happy to stab one another in the back.

There is the option to use "sticky" posts. We could, say, set that for a week or whatever duration suits your needs for every single adoption listing. That way, maybe five, six, or seven ads would consistently sit right at the top, which is actually a manageable number of posts to keep track of...
I personally know a user who got banned—if not completely blacklisted—just because of a SINGLE EMOJI in her post. Double standards? I think so. ☕

I am officially filing a complaint against the moderator—or perhaps a senior admin if one is watching—Nicholas King, for allowing blatant insults to go unchecked within this thread!

🤦

What kind of policy are you people even running over there? I’m getting such absurd responses that there’s honestly no point in continuing this conversation; just keep doing exactly what you're doing. IT'S AS IF YOU ARE ALWAYS RIGHT

Sophia Thomas7 said:If we're following that logic...

If someone complains about a moderator for issuing a warning or a ban, the supermods and admins review it, and if they uphold the decision, the ban sticks. So, why would the moderator be removed?

The only way a moderator gets booted is if users are constantly flagging them, and the admins realize they're actually in the wrong. In those cases, their tenure is going to be pretty short-lived. 😁

I haven't seen a single appeal actually upheld. Sure, maybe there are tiny oversights here and there, but bans stay in place. You always seem to find even the most absurd justifications just to ensure you aren't proven wrong—I've read plenty of those threads on the forums, and honestly, they’re quite the entertainment.

It reached a point where I had to comment on how ridiculous a situation was: a user got banned in the pet section simply because she asked why her cat had been returned when there was no explanation provided. I mean, I was asking myself the exact same thing!

You see all kinds of things on the internet... But if a user is actually right? Never.

I want it to stay right where it is because frankly, I find this insulting to me personally, and to every gay person across the entire country.

Don't even get me started on quoting all those comments claiming we're "sick" or whatever else. It's absolutely nauseating to read.

rustydrifter10, please, say something. 🙂 🙂

Nicholas King said:It isn't really a matter of belief for me—it’s just a fact. Not every former moderator stepped down because they chose to.

Viewing the administration as some sort of monolithic, "all-for-one" cult is—well, I suppose it's just plain wrong 😁.

Well, I’ve been keeping an eye on the N/A logs, and there is a massive amount of reports filed against very specific moderators who are still active. It makes me wonder if any of the mods people are actually complaining about will end up being stripped of their titles soon.

Nicholas King said:The moderators themselves end up taking hits on their internal performance scores—though, I should clarify, these penalties don't trigger any immediate, automatic consequences. However—and this is the crucial part—they serve as a very clear signal to the upper administration that something might be going sideways behind the scenes.

Even if we weren't dealing with a private community, and even if the system itself wasn't fundamentally flawed to begin with, the whole notion of using popular vote as a metric for selecting moderators is just... well, it’s simply unworkable.

Do you actually buy that?

There’s been absolutely no response to my private message, and frankly, the entire topic has become nothing short of revolting.

Forgive my intrusion into this thread, but cosmicridge5 makes an excellent point here—this entire mountain of posts is essentially just...

I’ve spent far too many years watching the same patterns repeat themselves, like a broken record playing in an empty bar, and frankly, I’m exhausted by the sheer predictability of it all. People constantly stumble into the same traps, convinced they’re seeing something revolutionary when they’re really just witnessing the same old nonsense dressed up in a new suit. It’s enough to make you want to retreat to a quiet corner of the library and stay there indefinitely. One would think that after all this time, we might actually learn something, but instead, we just watch the cycle spin faster and faster. kaže:
Just one tiny, insignificant little bug. 😍

I've spent enough years navigating the bureaucratic labyrinths of this country to know when a situation is being steered toward disaster by sheer incompetence. It’s the same tired pattern we see from the top down—officials making grand pronouncements while the actual infrastructure crumbles beneath their feet. I remember back in Chicago, during that winter freeze, watching local administrators scramble to explain why the grid failed despite all the "preparations" they boasted about in the press. It was pure theater. We're seeing that same level of performative governance now, where the rhetoric is loud, but the substance is nonexistent. It’s exhausting to watch. kaže:
😍

I suppose I should address the recent chatter regarding Chocolate Puma. It’s all quite tiresome, isn't it? One watches these digital cycles spin endlessly, yet nothing ever truly changes. kaže:
🙂

I have been watching this community for quite some time now, and frankly, I am beginning to lose my patience with the sheer volume of noise being generated lately. It feels as though we have drifted far from the reasoned discourse that once defined these forums. Instead, I find myself wading through endless threads of trivialities and manufactured outrage. I was sitting in a small coffee shop in Seattle just yesterday, watching people stare blankly at their phones, and it struck me how much our online interactions mirror that same hollow, distracted energy. We are all just shouting into a void, hoping someone—anyone—will validate our latest whim. I find myself constantly noticing nonsense in almost every major discussion thread, and quite honestly, it’s exhausting. If we cannot maintain a standard of substance, then what is even the point of being here? kaže:
What a damn shame. 😢

If this isn't blatant spam or just complete nonsense, then I truly have no idea what is.

Hey there!

I originally opened this thread to lay out some very specific guidelines, but things spiraled completely out of control once the usual crowd of bigots showed up. They started in with their classic, tired provocations—claiming being gay isn't okay, calling people sick, and insisting it’s something that can be "cured" (🤣)
.
The whole discussion has become utterly pointless now that it's devolved into a total flame war. I’m asking a moderator to please shut this down if it’s even possible 🙂

Addicted to Coca-Cola in Miscellaneous ·
I remember a guy in my class who was absolutely hooked on coca-cola; he used to tell me he’d down liters of it every single day, claiming he couldn't even function without it. I think he finally kicked the habit, though. At the end of the day, an addiction is an addiction—you can break it if you have the willpower. Some people kept dropping links to medical articles in my notifications, warning me that I could literally drop dead if I overdid it, so I guess we'll see how that plays out.

My sister—who honestly spends way more time on these forums than I ever would—completely walked away from this entire community because of how they handle pet discussions. Apparently, she ended up stuck in the ban corner just because a moderator was having a bad day. From what she told me, the mod had spent the previous day deleting posts about lizards and throwing tantrums about how she didn't know anything about reptiles, insisting everything had to be consolidated into one specific thread or else. It was pure ego. My point is, it's incredibly easy to get slapped with a ban on a platform like this. That’s my experience with the place, and frankly, I find myself being extra cautious about what I post just to avoid dealing with those kinds of power-tripping mods.

Good luck.
Ban the users who won't follow the mods in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Well, obviously, but since there was a clear warning that anyone continuing would be slapped with a red card... and Coca-Cola just kept right on going... isn't it only fair they get penalized? And from what I can see, they haven't stopped; they've just moved on to someone else.

The thread was much better without them, honestly. They're going to end up banned eventually.😢

I went ahead and filed the report myself; I’m doing this as a precaution so there’s a timestamped screenshot on record for later

P.S. It hasn't been officially processed yet

Here’s the smoking gun: just eight minutes after receiving a moderator warning, the individual in question doubled down on the ad hominem attacks and continued trying to fan the flames.

So, let the bans fly. As the moderator noted in the warning issued to @Coca-Cola, they willfully ignored the rules despite having plenty of time to actually read the post; instead, they chose to pivot straight into insults directed at me...

That's all there is to it.
My heart is hurting in Psychology & Therapy ·
I honestly find it impossible to wrap my head around someone claiming, "I'd rather he hit me than leave me alone with three sons," only to read the rest of the story and realize this poor woman is actually struggling to survive on an upper floor by herself with zero financial support. He didn't just leave you; he emotionally pulverized you.

There isn't much room for nuance here.

If you don't change things, those boys are going to grow up to be little delinquents. You already mentioned you're having trouble with them, and that’s exactly what happens when kids are raised in an abusive environment—witnessing that kind of violence is its own form of trauma.

Since you aren't getting a dime from your mother-in-law or your "husband," reach out to your family or your parents. Surely they aren't the type to turn their backs on you. Once the divorce is finalized, you'll be entitled to child support, which might even help you secure a small apartment.😉 Imagine that: peace, actual harmony...

I have absolutely no sympathy for parents who keep their children trapped in the orbit of abusers and deadbeat fathers; staying in that situation makes you an accomplice, basically holding the ladder while he climbs.

P.S. I remember thinking I had nowhere to go myself, but once things hit a breaking point, my family suddenly opened their doors wide.

Larry Walker24 said:Look, if I were actually paying for a membership on this forum, I’d be demanding they never give me a red card or any kind of penalty

And that is exactly why charging for a forum is a disaster waiting to happen. If we let people pay their way in, every single jerk on the internet would buy a membership just to harass and insult others with total impunity. You can't have a community where rules don't apply to anyone with a credit card; it would be pure chaos. Besides, I remember reading somewhere online that this site makes its money through ad revenue, which supposedly explains why they haven't invested in better or faster servers yet...

It seems I’m not alone in this; every five minutes, it's nothing but 503, 503, 503... It is quite enough to fray anyone's nerves. One has to wonder, is Mr. Anderson facing such dire financial straits that he can no longer be bothered to manage his own project? Now, I realize it isn't my place to peer into anyone's wallet, but having managed my own ventures in the past, I know I would never simply walk away from them like this.

P.S. Is Mr. Anderson interested in selling Reddit?
