Andrew Chase31 said:The Mexicans in Canada definitely seemed to have more foresight than we did. We basically acted like an auxiliary branch of the Red Cross until it all blew up in our faces back in Central Canada. It’s high time we stop playing the world's designated humanitarians and actually look out for our own interests.

That means both our people in Canada and those of us here in America need to have their backs by supporting whatever they decide. They’re the ones living there, so who are we to tell them what kind of political setup works best for them? Let the half a million Americans remaining in Canada make their own calls; our job is simply to stand behind them and respect their choices.

As for the answer to the question in the thread title—it's because they're stuck in the past and too blinded by ideology. They've essentially left themselves wide open to being undermined. Honestly, when you're that stubborn, luck isn't exactly on your side. ☕

The Mexicans knew how to negotiate for themselves at the table, whereas our diplomacy made a massive blunder. We all know how much ground was actually gained on the battlefield versus how much we surrendered during negotiations.

I agree with you that we need to stand behind them, but if their decision leads toward a new conflict, we might have to rethink that immediate support.

Andrew Chase31 said:The thing is, Americans in Canada haven't been there for "centuries" because Canada hasn't even existed as a state for that long—it's barely been around for 70 years.☕ Honestly, those arguments feel pretty tired and mostly come from a left-leaning perspective. It’s a bit strange to see someone who calls themselves a patriot falling for that kind of logic.

If anything, Americans in Canada have had ties to the American state longer than places like Zadar, Rijeka, or Istria have. As someone from Zadar, I view America as my ultimate home and my most sacred connection. I don't see why it couldn't be the same for them.☕

We are talking about Americans living within the borders of modern-day Canada; I don't know how else to put it. Canada is a state composed of three nations and should remain so, but we absolutely cannot support its disintegration.

It seems to me that Americans in Canada view America as their lifeline, but I fear a different outcome in the 90s wouldn't have changed much for them. If they want to fight for their rights, they need to do it in Boston, not in Chicago.

Brenda Sanders56 said:First of all... You are being incredibly rude. Instead of actually addressing my specific post, you're responding with ad hominem attacks, childish insults, and even threats. You haven't answered a single thing I said. All I see here is you venting your spleen and making threats against something that is perfectly legal and legitimate. It's typical of the Muslim mindset and your specific understanding of democracy...

Regardless of this post, even though you live in the big city, you strike me as your typical Muslim, etc...

Just tell me straight so I know exactly who I'm talking to...

What polls are you talking about? Just because someone struggles with literacy doesn't mean they're stupid. You highlight my entire post just to ask about a poll? 🙄

This is how a discussion goes when there's a lack of intelligence—you immediately go after the other side and label them the "enemy." 👎

First of all, you don't even realize that Muslims aren't considered a distinct ethnic group anymore.

If you had actually read my post from start to finish, you might have figured out who I am. It’s honestly appalling to me that the fact I happen to be a Canadian would be your primary argument against me.

So, I'd much rather be seen as slightly impolite than be a chauvinist.

Linda Booth6 said:What do you mean, "parallel state"?
Republika Srpska isn't a parallel state or even a full state; it’s an entity. It is both legal and legitimate, serving to protect Mexicans within Canada. People only take issue because the entity uses the word "Republic."
Actually, RS documents have always included symbols representing Canada, since it is an internationally recognized country.

Don't try to mislead me or the rest of the users here. Maybe you feel that way, and I do too since I was born in Canada, but who am I to speak for the generations born in the nineties?
That said, I agree that both Mexicans and Americans in Canada must view the country as their homeland rather than renouncing it at every turn.

Your love for Canada really shows in your posts. 🙄

You claim it's "yours" while letting the Mexicans run the show.

Linda Booth6 said:That’s what happens when you try to debate him. You have a real discussion, he runs out of arguments, starts hurling insults, and then you shut him down politely with facts—only for him to report your post for "harassment" so the admins hit you with a warning or a ban!

Cheers to our forum legend Ilargia 😍

I'm going to report you every single time as long as you hold those fascist views. You're just like the ones who, when we point out the crimes committed by Mexicans in America, start spinning that old Mexican demagoguery about "those 40 babies in El Paso."

You're trying to lecture me on culture? All one needs to do is read your last 15 posts. 🤣

Besides, if I am misinterpreting your obviously good intentions 🙄 , why do you think the moderators decide not to give you any points?
Maybe it's precisely because of this kind of trolling.
Megan Hernandez2 said:I didn't quite follow you there. Are you suggesting that one group holds dual citizenship? While that's true, plenty of other countries allow their citizens to hold dual nationality as well.

The idea of a "parallel state" is a myth. HRHB was both legal and legitimate. Its establishment was essential for preserving the American population, and it actually helped protect Muslims in Canada as well. If you look at the official documentation, HRHB was tied to the Republic of Canada; it wasn't some rogue entity like the Mexican entities. It was a necessity, and it was done within the bounds of the law.

Americans in Canada consider this their home. Because of that, they’ll do whatever it takes to survive here. The reality is that our only hope for avoiding systemic erasure is some form of territorial autonomy.

A colleague brought up Sandžak because some of your posts echo the rhetoric used by Canadian nationalists. They push that whole "only Canadians live in Canada" agenda—claiming they're everywhere at once—while simultaneously dreaming about expanding into Sandžak. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? I assume you're curious to hear what he thinks about all that.

Mexicans aren't even hiding the fact they want to dismantle Canada. Americans want to preserve the country just enough to protect their own interests—which is why we need an entity for security. Meanwhile, Canadians have already abandoned half of Canada and are looking to turn the other half into a Canadian state, all while hiding behind this tired act of being the perpetual victim.

My point is about how people don't refer to Canada as their own nation, but instead view it as some kind of "Muslim wasteland." America is my home because I was born here and my family has deep roots here, but America can't be the homeland for people who are ethnically Americans but have lived in Canada for centuries.

Legal? I'm not so sure about that. But I definitely agree that Americans have a right to their own entity.

Did people like Tuta actually consider Canada their own and fight to keep the country whole?

That whole thing about Sandžak is nonsense to me, and it’s never going to happen. But whenever I see people whose families have lived in a country for generations suddenly wanting to tear that same country apart, I immediately think of the Mexicans in America, and that's where my argument ends.

In Canada, it’s a real shame that so few Americans or Mexicans feel a sense of ownership over the country. Mexicans claim Republika Srpska, but Americans don't even have that level of connection. Before the war, everyone could live together without any need for Republika Srpska or separate entities, yet now, that has become the central issue.

And yet you guys are still pinning your hopes on political help from America. Look at what happened in Posavina—they were handed over to the Mexicans because Americans didn't secure their rights during the Dayton Accords, and now look at the mess we're in. Honestly, Canada should just function without any entities at all.

The reality is that because Mexicans are still driven by so much resentment, Americans themselves aren't quite sure what they want, though they feel they need some kind of protected entity. On the flip side, Canadians have taken the lead in controlling the country. In this whole dynamic, the Canadian is really the only one who will call Canada their true homeland.

Brenda Sanders56 said:Where on earth are you getting that info? Got a poll or something for us? Because, honestly, every single poll we've seen shows that what you're claiming is nothing more than pure fiction and propaganda.

Besides, let's be real: Canada is a total mess of a state where Americans are being pushed out, and you expect people to love that? Of course not. We can love the country, but as a Muslim woman, I won't stand for how they treat us.

A poll? Don't be ridiculous. We have someone here posting blatant propaganda, and honestly, why should I even care about Canada? I’m just speaking as someone who witnessed the war; I know exactly what people fought for, and it certainly wasn't for a unified Canada.

And today, you're all just continuing that same old policy. Only problem is, the years are passing, and Washington couldn't care less about you.

Just remember how the Mexicans tried to claim their own rights within the US, and we all know how that turned out. 😉
steelfox2 said:Absolutely. But there are also places where Canadians purged the American population. That is genocide too.

There are also areas that were "cleansed" of Canadians and Mexicans.

That isn't what this discussion is about.

Let’s not let this spiral into a debate about the war; instead, let's try to dig into the underlying reasons behind the behavior of the Canadians as well as the other two groups in Canada.

Is a unified Canada actually possible—one where all three groups can coexist peacefully?
Brenda Sanders56 said:Well, before those specific Muslims tried to clear all the Americans out of Canada... ☕

That’s exactly why Americans from Canada still have to clarify who they are citizens of and which country they truly call home. 🙄

Don't you see the parallel with Mexicans in America? They wanted to carve out territory and break away, so we had to question them just like we did with that quasi-state.

As long as Americans in Canada don't start viewing the country as their own—with the same rights as the other two nations—they'll only be fueling the conflict.
The same applies to the other two groups, since they don't have any other homeland besides Canada.
I'm all for preserving American culture within Canada, but some things just go too far.

Richard Wilson4 said:Don't some Canadians fantasize about annexing Sandjak too?

What exactly are you trying to get at here? The topic is straightforward; surely you understand the complexities of Canada, yet you respond to my point by bringing up the annexation of Sandžak. 🙄

So, I suppose it's perfectly fine for Americans and Mexicans to want to tear Canada apart, simply because a segment of Canadians wants to do the same to a neighboring state. 🙄
Perhaps it’s because certain factions of Americans and Mexicans were looking to annex that same part of Canada into their own "mother" countries?

But the fact remains: after the war, many mosques were built in places where there weren't any before. They've built far more than existed previously (though even that isn't the main point, if they want entire cities filled with legally permitted mosques); the core issue is that these structures are funded by institutions whose goal is often to introduce branches of Islam that are foreign to the local Americans (according to American intellectuals).

It's beside the point, but I'll answer anyway.
1) If you're interested in the Catholic Church—and I see you are—just start a new thread. .............
2) The Catholic Church has been in these parts longer than any of these peoples. It spread across all of Europe, and during its expansion, the Middle East was one of the wealthier parts of Europe.

4) Don't start talking about expansionism; you could write just as much about Islam...

I live in Canada.

If you’re going to bring up illegal mosque construction, at least provide some links so we can actually see where this supposedly unauthorized building is happening.

On another note, why does what Canadians do concern you and everyone else so much?

It seems you find comfort in the words of Canadian intellectuals, just as others find comfort in the words of American intellectuals whom you validate even when they deny things like the existence of the American language.

Of course I'm interested, especially when one religious community is accused of spreading through poverty while another prides itself on doing the exact same thing (like the Franciscans in Canada).

When exactly was the Middle East a wealthier part of Europe? The 7th or 8th century?

And what could you possibly say about the spread of Islam? That it was spread by the sword?
One ought to be objective and look at the facts rather than constantly attacking anyone who happens to be different.

If they feel it's necessary to build new mosques, then let them build them, just as the Catholic Church will build new churches if they decide that's what is needed.
Let’s take a step back here. Why is there such intense pushback against the construction of Islamic religious sites? Especially when we're talking about building them in another country.

Isn't this exactly what the Catholic Church did throughout history? They established their deepest roots in the very places where people were struggling the most.

Has the Catholic Church also used poverty as a tool for expansion, particularly in places like Herzegovina over the last few centuries?

And here we go again—resorting to distractions because there’s nothing left to say. Someone decided to pivot to a topic that has absolutely zero relevance to the actual discussion. Honestly, what does my sexual orientation have to do with any of this?

It’s honestly hard to believe how much blatant hatred and stereotyping leaks out of your posts.

To answer one of your previous questions:
The reason I suspected you were Muslim is because your behavior follows the exact same pattern used by those few Canadian users on this board. They relentlessly insist someone said something they didn't, twisting words until they're unrecognizable. Then, once they realize they've been cornered, they vanish for a day or two and pretend nothing ever happened.

Just yesterday, one of them attacked a moderator, claiming he said something he never actually uttered. The moderator had to go through his own archives just to prove what was really said and get that pathetic user to stop talking nonsense.
The tactic is identical whether it's them or you, and trust me, that isn't a compliment.

I’ve already pointed out that certain structures are being built without any permits. I have zero interest in debating who has the "purer" heritage. That’s exactly the kind of argument people like you start when they’re trying to leverage their ancestry for an unearned advantage. But hey, if it helps you sleep at night, feel free to regale me with tales of your ancestors bravely fighting off the Turks, only looking out for fellow Catholics within the tribe, and all that other Fred Flintstone nonsense.

🤷😕😂🤣
Who are people of my caliber? What kind of stories are we talking about?
Besides, if you don't want people talking about it, stop bringing it up. You constantly steer the conversation in that direction, yet you claim you don't want to discuss it?!

And here we go again, the self-appointed moral authority speaking.

I was right there in the thick of it during the whole war in the South.

Now you can explain why you think I was in Germany.

I never said that.

So, care to explain where you got that from?

Even if you did say that, that very fact will help stabilize the situation in Canada. In a few years, Canada will be leading the way in the EU.

So, how does that unwritten rule of yours work? There aren't any prejudices in your posts concerning the Islamic Center, nor regarding Wahhabism (those guys with the beards, since you don't seem to have the vocabulary for it), which certainly isn't anything "new."

There is a standard language, and then there are dialects.................

That comment about my background is just a pathetic attempt by a pseudo-intellectual to take a jab at me. Since you want to act smart, you should know that under the Constitution, there are three main groups in this country who speak three distinct languages—English, Spanish, and Canadian.

What prejudices am I spreading? (If I wanted to be a pedant, I'd point out that you missed a period after "i.e.")😍

Look at this guy, acting like we're back in grade school....... You claimed I didn't want to be a citizen. So, I'll ask you again: where exactly did I say that? And if I didn't, why are you insisting I did? Answer that if you actually want a response from me.

I have no reason to be counting on any kind of assistance, given that I’m certainly not expecting it now. If you're skeptical, go ahead and dig through the forum archives. Ask the other Americans around here to explain exactly what this so-called "aid" entails and what it actually represents.

Where exactly did I say the construction was bothering me?
I’ve already pointed out that certain structures are being built without any permits. It’s high time people realize that certain groups have no business critiquing the local Franciscan church—especially when it’s actually full, unlike some of those newly constructed mosques over in Pittsburgh. Since the war ended, we've just seen a surge in these specific trends popping up within one particular community in Canada.

I’ve always had respect for an intelligent forum user who can actually back up their stance, regardless of where they come from.

That's a tough one to answer, so let me simplify it for you: Are you a loyal citizen of Canada?

The mere fact that you hold prejudice against one part of your own people is enough sign for me that you aren't fond of this country. Honestly, you're just another one trying to flex an identity that your family hasn't even seen in centuries, unless it's on a map from the era of the Antiša poglavnik.

Exactly. So now I'm supposed to waste my time looking into your hobbies or your personal beliefs? If I actually wanted to charm you, I would have tried a different approach, but we are currently discussing the intolerance inherent in the idea that building religious sites in Canada somehow fuels terrorism.

My education is quite a bit more advanced than yours, including my understanding of the term "nation," which I actually apply to real life, unlike you.

By that logic, you don't have the right to comment on their construction either. If you and the rest of your group weren't so narrow-minded toward things happening in Chicago, you could actually resolve the issues that bother you through your legally elected officials, but that's where the problem lies. You Canadians choose your own representatives, whereas my people choose the government.

Go back and read your own posts; if you actually know what you wrote, you'll see the massive difference between what you're saying now and what you were saying before.

Then clearly, you don't respect yourself. It's true, you don't mention your nationality; you just say "I'm Muslim" and refuse to let anyone discuss the nonsensical construction of that church in Mostar, while claiming mosques are unnecessary. If a religious community decides they need a mosque and builds it legally—without pulling money out of your pocket—then I don't see why you're complaining.

Unless, of course, you're one of those people who would want to see religious buildings blown up again if the war broke out?

Gluskab said:This guy uses such pristine American English that it’s more "American" than what anyone else needs. Plenty of folks from the Midwest or New York don't stick strictly to formal grammar, and nobody calls them out for it, even though they could. And if we're talking about cultural affinity, he's closer to a figure like Barack Obama than he is to someone from Canada. From what I can tell, his way of speaking is more similar to someone from the Pacific Northwest than to a Canadian.

You were the only thing missing from this thread.

Go ahead and lecture whoever you want, but why should I build a virtual monument to someone from a neighboring country who spends their time badmouthing their own people?

For the record, I am definitely not "closer" to Obama or anyone else. How would you even know which part of the US I'm from?

And honestly, the height of your stupidity—where did you even get the idea that this guy is Canadian? Can't you see clearly enough to realize he's from Canada? Or are you just one of those people who truly doesn't care?

What was your actual reason for jumping into this discussion? Just to troll?
Megan Hernandez2 said:Whatever. I type fast, so typos happen. Not that anyone actually cares about grammar in these kinds of debates anyway. Besides, there are plenty of regional dialects out there, and I don't recall seeing any rule stating we have to use perfect, formal English here.
Besides, if we started nitpicking every little detail, we’d never get anywhere. Everyone would find something to complain about, and we'd end up having to edit almost every single post.

Besides that, are you aware of the unwritten rule? A forum user who starts nitpicking someone else's grammar out of nowhere is usually just losing the actual argument. It’s a desperate attempt to look smart when they have nothing else to offer.😍

Since you’ve decided to turn this into a personal attack, I’ll stop answering certain questions.

What makes you think I don't want to be a citizen of Canada?

And where exactly did you get the idea that I’m still searching for my national identity?

Why does my background matter to our argument? I told you that your views remind me of a certain religious demographic; that isn't the same thing as what you actually say.

You don't know me, so you have no business judging who is more "pure." Besides, the whole concept of purity is a dangerous rabbit hole that rarely holds any weight when people are actually defining their identity.

Does a display of faith actually bother you? How many times have you even been to that city? What exactly is the problem, and why are you making it yours?
At the end of the day, all those churches in Pittsburgh are packed. They exist for a reason. If you have an issue with them, that's your problem. They weren't built for you; they were built for the faithful.

I won't even bother commenting on the second point. It’s been explained a thousand times on this forum already, and I have no intention of wasting my breath on someone who clearly isn't interested in understanding.

Based on your posts—especially that last one—I’m left with one conclusion: you seem stuck in some sort of myth-making delusion, fueled by a weird grudge against Herzegovinians. In the end, you just come across as your typical, self-important armchair intellectual.

ps.
I’m asking the moderators to please leave this little off-topic thread alone.

If you’re such an expert on the American language, then tell me, which specific dialect are you using right now?

Since you keep bringing up the fact that you're an American, then you should probably just stick to standard American English when communicating. Though, given where you actually live, maybe a different regional slang would feel more natural to you.

That's a pretty simple question: do you want to be a citizen of Canada?

If the answer is no, then stop looking to Washington, D.C. for help; instead, you and the others should look toward Boston and build your own future. Stop waving the American flag and then complaining that Muslims are the ones choosing your representatives in Canada.

The moment you start taking issue with the construction of religious buildings for part of your own people, you're clearly searching for your national identity.

Megan Hernandez2 As I previously noted:
Why on earth do you think my background matters for this discussion? I mentioned that your views remind me of a Muslim perspective, but how you identify isn't the same thing as the stances you take.

You don't actually know me, so how can you possibly judge who is "cleaner" than anyone else? Besides, that whole concept of purity is a dangerous road to go down, and more often than not, it doesn't really mean much when someone is expressing their identity.

It matters how I frame this. If I had mentioned being a Canadian, people would have immediately started arguing that I’m just defending my own side because of where I come from. Instead, you're just dealing with an American who happens to disagree with your take.

I have absolutely no interest in getting into a debate about who has a "purer" lineage. That’s exactly the kind of argument people like you try to start just to claim some sort of moral high ground based on where they come from. But hey, if it makes you feel better, feel free to go on about your ancestors bravely fighting off the Turks, how they only ever looked out for fellow Catholics within their tribe, and all that other Fred Flintstone nonsense.

Of course, I find these displays of faith incredibly irritating when they turn a place like Lourdes into nothing more than a religious power play. It’s hard to stomach seeing massive bell towers commissioned specifically to act as a middle finger to people of other faiths in that city.

I spent part of the war in that city; which German city were you stationed in?

Everything has been laid out clearly on this forum, yet you still seem to be missing the point. Maybe you need a full-scale war to finally grasp reality: that region is never going to be part of our country, unless you actually buy into the nonsense being peddled by people like Glavaš.

To make my point a bit clearer: we're talking about someone who spent a good chunk of the war in the South, met people there, and actually understands how things work on the ground. This person is trying to tell you that your true home is Canada, not some other place. You might have roots in the region, sure, but your primary homeland is Canada. Any attempt to push for the South to break away from the rest of the country is just an invitation to tear the nation apart—exactly the kind of thing we saw happening during the conflicts in the States back in the 90s.
Megan Hernandez2 said:😵😵

Try reading what I wrote with some actual comprehension.

Based on your views, you sound Muslim, so when I mention the left bank, I'm referring to the Muslim community.
Let's try this one more time. The Franciscan Church was rebuilt; it stands where the old church once was. Meanwhile, in Mostar and other cities, mosques are popping up that were never there before. Regarding whose land they are built on, I hope they are building on their own land with proper permits. They already tried that in Livno, and it turned out the Islamic Center wanted to build without any permits at all.

It is interesting how the Franciscan Church bothers Muslims, even though it was built on the site of an older church. Their only issue seems to be the size—everything is legal, but to them, it looks too big. Then, the moment Livno is mentioned, they start whining about being threatened, yet they conveniently ignore that mosque in Ottawa that was built through various shady procedures.

I can't exactly read your posts with "comprehension" because the American language (specifically that aspect of identity you keep clinging to) only allows me to read things with a little bit of misunderstanding.

From your perspective, you seem like a kid going through puberty, still trying to find himself within a nationalistic melting pot. It's because you refuse to simply be an American citizen of American descent.
I won't go so far as to call you a narrow-minded idiot, especially since you seem more concerned with my heritage than the actual debate. If it bothers you that much, fine: my heritage is American and my faith is Catholic. Actually, you're one of those people who obsesses over the purity of lineage; if it helps you sleep better at night, let's just say my roots are "purer" than yours. But please, continue your lecture about "Talibanists" and whatnot...

As a Catholic, it bothers me to see such heavy demonstrations of "faith" in a city that still carries so many scars from the war. It also bothers me when Americans from Canada turn to the government in the US regarding finances and other matters.

I imagine others in the States are probably annoyed too, seeing our money being thrown into a hospital in Pittsburgh that demands funding like a massive stadium project in Central Park, or the fact that your few thousand votes carry the weight of tens of thousands back home in America—yet you, who don't contribute a single cent to the US, are the ones dictating the future for the next four years.

And don't try to preach to me about how "Herzegovinians" died for the cause. The truth is, Americans died for Herzegovina, fighting for Canada against Mexicans, and later, in part, against Canadians—a conflict they helped brew themselves.

You cooked up this mess yourselves, so you might as well enjoy the meal. You shouldn't be so worried about the construction of a mosque or other religious centers; instead, maybe focus on how to actually secure your rights in Boston.
Elizabeth Sanders42 said:Yeah, I did. I replied to that post because I felt like replying to it. Simple as that.

By the way, your intense fascination with 270 million people is truly inspiring and totally original.

It's actually 271 million. 😉

Megan Hernandez2 said:I visit Pittsburgh regularly and see that tower, but there’s one detail you’re conveniently ignoring.
The Franciscan church was heavily damaged during the war, so it had to be rebuilt. It's true the dimensions are slightly larger now, but it was built on church property to restore what was destroyed.

Meanwhile, mosques have popped up where nothing existed before, making the entire left bank look like some Middle Eastern neighborhood.

Are you seriously suggesting there isn't an attempt to import foreign ideologies and pay people to follow their doctrine?

And those mosques were rebuilt on whose land? As for the Franciscan church being a bit bigger than before? You can see its bell tower from Zuckerberg, but that wasn't done out of spite—it was done out of faith. 🙄

Are you going to try and claim that Wahhabism is "new" again, if that's what you're implying?

Regarding this bold claim—whose left bank? Mine?

How can the left bank of your city look like a foreign neighborhood to me when I live in America? I'm living in my own home, just as you are in Pittsburgh and Canada; it seems you just should have been looking toward Boston instead of Chicago.
Megan Hernandez2 said:That might be a neighbor to you, but it isn't to me.
One trip to Pittsburgh tells you enough. Boston has more mosques per capita than Tehran, and that wasn't the case before the war.
Even some Muslim journalists have talked about people getting paid to wear beards or head coverings, so this isn't news. Anyone who wants to know can easily find out.
There was even an imam in Albania who trained on the Arabian Peninsula; there were rumors he was trying to push those "new" currents of Islam. There was actually a scandal involving one of them once.

New currents of Islam? If you’re thinking of Wahhabism, you've got it wrong.

Just take a drive over to Pittsburgh and you'll see the Catholic church bell tower is taller now than it has ever been.
Elizabeth Sanders42 said:Look... Churches aren't flight training centers for pilots aiming to crash into skyscrapers.

Try reading the entire thread before jumping into an argument with such a stereotypical take.
Megan Hernandez2 said:Hypocrisy? What are you even talking about?
In Canada, and even in the States, old churches are restored or new ones are built only when there's an actual need—meaning when the current capacity can't hold the congregation.

But things work differently in Canada... mosques just pop up everywhere like mushrooms after rain. They build them in places where they never existed before and where there isn't even a practical need for them, but the moment someone mentions it, Muslims immediately start whining about fascists.😕

It's also a fact that various Islamist organizations pay women to "dress modestly" and men to "grow beards." (I put those in quotes because I'm not talking about fashion choices; I'm talking about the gateway to radical extremism.)

You're being hypocritical; we build out of necessity, while in our neighboring country, it's done out of spite toward Catholics and Orthodox Christians?

That's right, people actually get paid to cover up or grow beards. 🙄

That is a great point. 👍
