Furthermore, the idea that all of Ukraine wants the West is questionable. Looking at the 2020 local elections, pro-Russian candidates won in the east and south. It seems to be quite a divided nation. Perhaps Kate Cook27 could clarify that, since she might know more about the situation on the ground...

There’s really nothing subjective about discrimination. I mean, we know exactly what it is: it’s when an individual or a specific group is denied the same rights as everyone else. It can be formal—you know, actually written into the laws—or it can be informal.

Not having a war would be better, which I suppose is the default assumption. I mean, you don't have the destruction, the injuries, the deaths, or people being forced from their homes; instead, infrastructure actually grows rather than being leveled... that’s probably better, right?
