urbanhawk17 said:What’s the issue with them staying open until 8? I mean, what's really happening during those three hours between 5 and 8?

And what's the issue with working until 5 AM? Is it not "comfortable" enough? Or is it just because people hate waiting around?

urbanhawk17 said:And what other industry is even at risk, besides doctors and medical staff? Personally, I'd say none of them. Most of it seems pretty individual.

Retailers should be staying open longer, not shorter. It’s just creating crowds, mostly outside rather than inside. I mean, yesterday the Walmart in Madison Square Garden was packed. This whole thing is a missed opportunity. Same goes for these passes.

And since when is people crowding outside such a big deal? What, is someone gonna sprout a tumor? Seriously, if people would just bring a list and actually know what they're looking for, there wouldn't be half these crowds. But nope, you've always got those idiots wandering aimlessly through the aisles because they have zero clue what they need—classic. Look, the crowds happen because we have capacity limits on how many people can be in the store at once—like, let's say 10 or 12 people max—so yeah, people are gonna have to wait outside. Deal with it.🙄

hiddencyclist112 said:Exactly. Honestly, they are easily the most inconsiderate group in this entire mess. It isn't just enough that you're already being exposed to risks; you're also forced to work under conditions that are anything but normal. On top of that, the government hits you every two weeks with some new regulation—first it’s cutting off public transit, then it’s pass requirements, then switching up the passes again—instead of focusing on the 80% or 90% of the population who actually have the privilege of staying put. Working from home. Schooling from home. Or if you aren't making decent money, working from home is definitely out of the question.
And stores are operating during the exact same hours you are, so you'll just have to manage. Besides, even when you do make it home, God knows people look at you like you're some kind of walking threat—it's almost enough to make you feel like they'd rather throw you straight into a washing machine or, better yet, a woodchipper.

God help us all. ☕

just shop online 😁

I'm sure you have one free day a week where you can just stroll out, grab what you need for the next few days, and not have a heart attack.

Jessica Gonzalez said:What exactly makes it logical, though? Retailers haven't really been the main targets of the outbreak over the last few weeks, so I guess it's worth wondering how many people actually working in retail are even infected. You could probably argue it's either logical or illogical depending on how you look at it. Either way, the reality is that we're seeing the same amount of foot traffic squeezed into shorter windows. Even if you point out that there are capacity limits, stores end up losing money because they’re forced to operate for fewer hours. It feels like just another ad hoc decision made during this crisis—one of those moves that, in my opinion, doesn't seem based on any real data or deep analysis.

It's not the same number of customers, though. Most people are shopping way less frequently now—they're stocking up once every few days—so the foot traffic in stores has tanked. It's not like the crowd stayed the same size; it feels like it's been cut in half everywhere.

Jessica Gonzalez said:That is exactly what I tell people. In America, cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death, yet now we're forcing people to sit around, eat junk, drink, and smoke.

And just from smoking alone, you've got about 30 people kicking the bucket every single day in America.

Paul Martinez73 said:Aren't you satisfied with people making fun of you in the corner? 🤦

I guess I'm just quoting this so it stays on the record. So, according to you, people are going to overeat because of isolation—whose fault is that exactly? Is it because people are idiots who choose to binge? You can actually stay healthy while in isolation, or even in prison, you know?

Layoffs, layoffs, oh my god, layoffs. Since six months ago, we've been seeing an average of 6,000 to 7,000 more unemployed people every month; now it might hit 20,000. It's not like 500,000 people are suddenly going to show up at unemployment offices when there are only 40,000 more cases in two months.

Honestly, I feel like I'm answering you, but I don't see the point of your post at all. It's probably just a "Ugh, why aren't we like Swedenaaaa" type of thing.

And I'm sitting here wondering why I'm even responding to you either. 🎉

And another thing—these Crisis Headquarters love to talk a big game about "public health," but honestly, what are they saying about the health of the thousand people who drop every single day from those shots? What’s going to happen to everyone else? People are going to pack on the pounds like pigs during this lockdown just because they're bored out of their minds eating everything in sight. And don't even get me started on how many people are going to spiral into depression and all that other mental health crap. Where's the "health" in that? We’re already one of the most overweight and physically lazy nations in the EU.

I'm just sitting here waiting for some expert advice and instructions from Beroš and Markotic once I finally get a break from work. Should I just head into the woods and go full Rambo during this isolation?

Is it just me, or is this whole wave of hospital donations lately just straight-up insulting? Like, are we collectively losing our minds here? It’s like taxes and payroll deductions don't even exist—every single month, several hundred bucks just vanish from my paycheck into "donations," and then they have the nerve to ask us to chip in more because hospitals "need this" or "need that." Look, kid, if you're going to strip away my withholdings, just hand me that cash directly. Then, if I actually need medical help, I'll go to a private clinic myself instead of throwing money into a total black hole.

Eric Fox7 said:There’s this totally irrational panic going on right now, even though the mortality rate is actually lower than your run-of-the-mill flu season.

Down in Osijek, they’ve gone ahead and shut down a private high school—forcing everyone into online classes instead.🤦

And honestly, who’s actually guaranteeing that the kids staying home won't just end up loitering at local bars or hanging out in shopping malls where they can cause even more trouble?🙄

And what about all the people dying from cancer, diabetes, obesity, smoking, or even the roughly thousand people who die in car accidents across America every year? (Someone please correct me if my math is off.)

So, I'm basically expecting everyone to go on a massive shopping spree for 60 pounds of flour, 9 pounds of yeast, 20 gallons of oil, 75 pounds of bananas, a carton of eggs, and two Bic lighters. ☕

Anthony Jackson2 said:Well, I definitely didn't see that coming. 🤦

I can wrap my head around just about anything, but believing people are actually born religious is a level of stupidity even I can't quite grasp.

The level of stupidity required to think you're born gay is just... wow.😉

Matthew Young35 said:Give me a break... People born in the seventies and eighties are considered the "older generation" now.
Which older generations are you actually talking about?
Are we talking about Sava Kovacevic and Pavelić?

Those of us from the 80s and 70s are already 40 to 50 years old.

These 20-year-old kids are absolute idiots and completely narrow-minded. For 75% of them, it’s all God, the Church, Tonson, Ceca, dar bubati Mara, and the sanctity of marriage.
Seriously, what are you even talking about?

It’s honestly absurd when an 18-year-old kid starts lecturing you about the sanctity of marriage.
😲

Brainwashed idiots? Oh sure, clearly you mean the liberals and all those "free thinkers."

Paul Martinez73 said:Maybe you didn't get a look at those priest's bits when you were little, but clearly someone else did (your dad's, the neighbor's, or maybe just the dog's?). You definitely have some kind of psychological issue fueled by an insane amount of pure hatred.

Kids watching movies like 300 or shows like South Park and Family Guy on TV today, and somehow *that's* where the problem lies instead of people burning effigies... 🤣

Exactly. 👍

Peter Thompson4 said:Look, you don't get a choice in being gay, but you absolutely do get to choose whether or not you believe in God.
So, if we're being technical about it, sure, you can mock a religion all you want, but you shouldn't be attacking someone for something they were born with and couldn't change.
That goes for pretty much everything physical, too—whether it's how tall you are or the color of your skin.

Are you actually serious about faith being a "choice"? lol. You think it's okay to roast a religion but not a person? Please. People poke fun at anyone who's super short, or giant, or way too skinny, or overweight, or even just has weird ears. It's all the same thing.

wiredfalcon2 said:Look, the guy chose to get into politics; nobody forced his hand. Besides, this is basically a ritualistic burning of someone representing "power," meant to show them they aren't invincible. A gay person didn't choose their orientation—they can't just quit being gay... etc.

I can already see the wave of gay people getting burned all over America following that art performance in Imotski. Next thing you know, people will be dressing up like Native Americans at a wine festival and howling around bonfires. 😁
