Amanda Evans2 said:Now they’ve gone and banned Sunday hours for the grocery stores that have been open every single Sunday this whole time.
We all know exactly whose little initiative this was from the start...
The holy headquarters and the holy church...

So what's the fallout? In Germany, they've been doing this for like a hundred years already.

Paul Sanders5 said:Sid, look, over here the entire healthcare system is currently drowning trying to manage 2000 patients with Coronavirus. Of course there’s no real collapse—it’s just "every man for himself" at this point. If you die at home, nobody’s even gonna notice 😁 And I'm not even making this up on the fly; about a month ago, right when they were rolling out all these new restrictions, my old man got hit with this massive, blinding pain in the middle of the night. Turns out it was just kidney stones. You wouldn't believe the absolute nonsense and hoops they made him jump through just to get some basic pain meds at the ER 🙏

Hospitals are looking pretty damn empty

brightpilot6 said:Regarding masks and how the world handled things, there certainly wasn't a universal consensus, though the mockery was undoubtedly fueled by the simple fact that people just couldn't get their hands on them. On one hand, I see where they were coming from, but on the other, I find it hard to wrap my head around how we haven't managed to scale up mass production by now.

That is to say, I suppose it’s just the typical, predictable incompetence you'd expect from an GOP supporter.

Seriously though, how can they not? Some guy in a small town in the Midwest probably put together a whole crew to manufacture masks and gloves in like two weeks. 🙏

ruggedjackal46 said:We’re comparing America and Sweden. What good is a graph to me if it doesn't include Sweden? 😕

You were expecting a much bigger difference? Well, that's funny, considering you were just arguing that American healthcare has better capacity than the Swedish system. 😕

And why did they have 2,000 deaths instead of 50? Maybe it has something to do with how they handled the outbreak itself, rather than the actual capacity of the healthcare system? Honestly, restlesssurfer97, get real. 🤦

Look, I'm pretty sure we have more deaths from cardiovascular issues and heart disease too, so what? We probably have way more smokers dying in this country as well. 🤷

Jessica Gonzalez said:People have completely lost their minds, I guess. It's pretty unprecedented to see 20 to 30-year-olds struggling this much psychologically.

honestly, they seem more terrified than some retiree—at least from what I've seen personally🤦

Milan Bandić's gonna handle it—some Canadian guy will probably just be out there spraying everyone with disinfectant.

Nancy Sanchez31 said:restlesssurfer97, you just love to slap labels on everything, don't you? Honestly, Šprajc was basically rolling with whatever happened; if people were dying because there weren't enough restrictions, he’d probably complain that they were killing people, and now that we're dealing with some half-baked situation, he's back at it again. I guess people just have to peddle their own nonsense sometimes. It used to be interesting when he’d call out the administration, but now he just seems to vent about absolutely everything and everyone, regardless of whether it actually matters or not.

I don't get it.

urbanhawk17 said:What precautions?

Look, I’m all for being careful, but "precautions" would mean seeing a stadium like Maksimir packed with small groups of 5 to 15 people. Instead, you can't even drive from one suburb to another without some kind of permit.

Apparently, 15 people can hang out in a park, yet ten of us can't even play soccer at the local school field.

That’s not being cautious; it's just total nonsense.

Honestly, it's probably better for your health to just rot at home and binge eat out of sheer boredom,

brightpilot6 said:Fair enough. Mutation. But what if we keep everything wide open and this still largely mysterious virus undergoes a mutation into something even more lethal, especially given how aggressively it spreads, what exactly is the backup plan then?

Yeah, it'll mutate, and let me tell you—the first group of people feeling the heat is gonna be the politicians.

Joseph Clark37 said:I wonder what the smart guys would say if things had gone the other way. If the measures were weak, inadequate, and resulted in bodies piling up... then the geniuses with their witty jokes about how incompetent the experts were at stopping the pandemic would be getting massive applause again. It’s easy to go to war without offering an alternative or actual solutions. But hey, he's just a journalist in America... a much easier job with zero responsibility compared to those who have to make the tough calls in the moment. But sure... Šprajc is king... Šprajc revealed the truth...🙏

Look, Šprajc is usually just your typical left-wing elitist—the kind of guy who talks trash constantly but then happily hosts them on his shows. Wow, such sarcasm, such cynicism... real deep there.

As for me, my "alternative"? You lock the older crowd down in quarantine, let everything else run normally (minus concerts, sports games, and nightlife), and then you only admit the nasty Coronavirus cases to the hospitals. Everyone else stays in tents or gymnasiums outside the hospital wards so the medical system doesn't collapse. Keep the economy moving, maybe scale back some non-essential services, but don't kill off all the check-ups. Obviously, we'll never know for sure what the outcome would've been or what the data would show. My gut feeling? There would've been less chaos. Sure, more deaths, probably, but way fewer economic disasters that we'll be digging ourselves out of for the next ten years.

When asked if we’ve finally made it through the critical weeks, Markotić just shrugs and goes, "I don't know."

Anthony Jackson2 said:He killed them off first with the monologue—then followed up with those remarks. Honestly, maybe it’s better if he doesn't host every single day; when he actually builds up enough material, he can really hit hard.

Everything he’s saying is just useless noise.

Joseph Clark37 said:My first instinct was also to change the channel to avoid witnessing someone else's suffering. I know what I'm about to say might sound incredibly pathetic, but if doctors and medical staff have to endure all of this day in and day out, then perhaps watching it on TV allows me to at least bear witness... to gain some insight into the immense effort, struggle, and risk they face, and in that small way, show them my gratitude.

Look, it's the job they chose. At the end of the day, most hospitals are half-empty, and the people working in the morgue are basically worked to death anyway.

So, apparently nearly 14 percent of the 3,000 people tested here in New York have antibodies for the Coronavirus, according to Governor Andrew Cuomo this Thursday.

These are just preliminary findings from a study where they randomly tested folks out at grocery stores, which Cuomo mentioned during his daily press briefing.

"Basically, it means these people were actually infected and then went on to develop antibodies," he explained.

The Governor suggested that these numbers might imply the mortality rate is actually lower than what everyone’s been assuming, because if you look at the actual infection count based on this, we're talking about 2.7 million people having been hit by it.

"If you take the current death toll, which is sitting at 15,500, that would put the fatality rate at about 0.5 percent," he said, though he was quick to point out that these are all just preliminary estimates. He also threw in a warning that the death count could "be higher" since the current tally doesn't account for anyone who might have passed away from Coronavirus at home.

hehe

So now we’re left wondering—what was even the point of locking down an entire state? There’s gotta be something else going on behind the scenes, right? Just saying, it feels a little too convenient...

Noah Perez2 said:And just like that, with the first announcements regarding the gradual easing of restrictions—moving in lockstep with the rest of the EU, naturally—the bleating from those sheep suddenly went silent. After a few days of their self-imposed "harsh quarantine," they mentally crumbled, declaring themselves the vanguard while tirelessly preaching about some white-collar conspiracy against the economy and humanity that everyone else was supposedly too blind to see. ☕

Now, they'll just be hiding in their little holes, waiting for the next opportunity to repeat this exact cycle: a frantic rush of hysteria, followed by their "vanguard" posturing, a few slap on the wrist, and finally retreating back into their burrows. ☕

The dogs bark, the caravans move on, and the so-called vanguard remains exactly what it always was.

Blah, blah, blah. 😍

Nah, this whole epidemic thing? Totally just a coincidence.
