Kevin Morris12 said:What happened with that Verizon Banking and Chase partnership they promised would be live by summer? Summer is officially here, yet we’re still waiting on those services 🤔

They even released a preview of what the new AT&T & Chase Mastercard will look like. It looks sharp, sure, but is Maestro really the best move for an online payment strategy? I assume that's their main goal since they keep bragging about how you won't have to step foot in a branch anymore. The problem is, Maestro isn't exactly a powerhouse for international e-commerce. You'll find it works fine locally, but once you try to use it on most US websites, you run into walls

It's a bit embarrassing because they were already overtaken by competitors in Romania a month ago. Their version of Verizon launched its own online banking suite, mimicking some of those trendy fintech startups, but they actually made the smart choice by opting for Mastercard instead

Regarding Telecommunications banking, I asked a few months back and got this response:

Dear Ms. ...,

Thank you for reaching out and expressing interest in our Telecommunications banking service.

The service is still in its pilot phase, and we expect it to be available to everyone by the end of summer.

This is a banking service designed to be simple, fast, and secure via a mobile app, featuring a wide array of banking products and services, backed by the extensive network of Citigroup branches and ATMs in America, along with web chat and the Citigroup call center.

Telecommunications banking represents the first collaboration of its kind between a telecom operator and a bank in the American market. The service will offer users the widest range of digital banking services in America, accessible to all smartphone users, with special perks available specifically to AT&T customers.

Wait, how much overdraft do you even have at Chime?
Is your paycheck actually hitting Chime, or what?
Based on the kind of deposits you're making...

Yep.

Honestly, PayPal would be a total game-changer if they just bumped up the daily transfer limits and transaction caps.

Zachary Lopez24 said:Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the maximum overdraft limit is at JPMorgan Chase? Specifically, what percentage are they allowing lately?

Up to 300%.

I figured out how to install it and ran the redistribution through the USB drive.

But honestly, I don't see much of a difference, other than being able to handle the redistribution directly from the USB stick next time.

Total self-inflicted wound if you ask me... 🤷

Which update? My last one was 1.2.
JPMorgan Chase Go!Card help? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Eric Doyle23 said:Hey everyone, this thread has gone a bit quiet lately, so I thought I’d stir things up a little.
JPMorgan Chase is now offering their GO!Card with an 8.19% interest rate—it seems like a smarter move to park some cash there rather than dealing with the 9.40% interest they charge when you're overdrawn on a checking account.

1. I'm trying to figure out which makes more sense right now: sticking with a basic Mastercard standard card or opting for the GO!Card Mastercard?
2. From what I gather, you can split purchases into up to 12 installments without any interest or extra fees, and it's only once you go past that 12-month mark that the extra charges kick in. Does the card just automatically set everything to those 12 installments if that's how I arranged it with my banker?

Thanks.

I think JPMorgan Chase is basically the only one still hitting 9.4% on overdrafts.
Every other bank has already dropped those rates.

Overdraft interest really ought to be pegged to the revolving credit rate.

With the GO! card, you can opt to pay via a percentage or spread it over up to 36 months with interest.

On top of that, you can shop at certain places and get 12 (or even 24, if I'm lucky) interest-free installments. You can also just pay it all off at once and avoid interest entirely.

No annual fees or enrollment fees either.

I’ve used my Chime credit card to withdraw cash a few times and nothing ever happened.
At an ATM,
But from what I can tell, they start raising red flags when you move money from a credit line to a checking account.

However, I have a workaround to bypass that risk without getting flagged—they can't touch me.

Just run the funds through two different prepaid services.

Kevin Morris12 said:I tried it myself just now, and the credit card isn't working. It keeps saying you can only pay with debit cards. From what I can tell, this seems to be the rule for all accounts now—it wasn't specified that this restriction applied only to that specific American Express account. 🤷

I was actually thinking about giving Revolut a shot, but I really didn't want to deal with the hassle of moving money around just to top up the balance. Why would USPS reject a Revolut Mastercard? If they are, I’m guessing it might be because their cards don't support D Secure...

It's possible that certain types of accounts only accept specific debit cards. For instance, those tied to credit institutions.

I did. I just opened it online, and they called me into the branch a few days later to sign the paperwork.

It’ll be a game changer when American Express eventually converts to Visa; then he can finally use it with PayPal.

And I'm not just talking about PayPal—it would work seamlessly with Revolut and all those other apps too.

I was wondering why, but it actually makes sense. Both the app and the Diners Club card belong to Wells Fargo (American Express), so they likely don't want people using their app to make irregular cash withdrawals on those specific cards. They clearly couldn't care less about any other cards.

Here’s the response I got from customer service:

The information displayed on your screen indicates that the card issuer (in this case, American Express) declined the transaction. There are several possible reasons, but the most common are:

- The user's card does not have online purchasing enabled. In this instance, the user should contact the card issuer (American Express) to confirm if online transactions are permitted;

- The user has reached their cash advance limit. If the cash advance limit has been exhausted, neither adding the card nor sending money via this card will be possible until the limit resets (which usually happens in the next billing cycle—for example, next month). You need to contact the card issuer to check if there is any remaining cash advance availability;

- The user has no available credit limit at all, or the card has been blocked. Again, the user must contact the card issuer to determine the reason.

Since this involves American Express, it's possible you had the American Express mobile app installed. Within that app, you can actually block certain types of Diners Club transactions, such as international purchases or online shopping.

I can't say for sure about the fee, but customer service told me they’re definitely treating it like a cash advance.
Best mobile apps for money transfers? in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I figured it out. You need some actual available cash limit just to get the card registered in the first place.

That’s not happening for me right now, so there you go.
