Word on the street is that this "new opportunity" for Spider might be the Director position at Yosemite National Park.
"I really wouldn't comment on those rumors right now. But if you're asking whether I'll find myself in the same position as so many citizens who sat in my office pleading for any kind of help finding employment... well, I suppose I am in that situation now," said Spider.
| The daughter of the secretary for the county governor’s party—and the daughter of a certain Republican crony—has landed a role in a position that, until recently, didn't even exist. They secured the gig via a signature from Leo Šunjić, the director of the Chicago County Institute of Public Health, which, as anyone with eyes can see, was founded by the County itself. |
The most interesting part, I think, is how the email wraps up. There’s an explicit instruction to Republicans to bring up the government covid stimulus when talking to retirees during the campaign—even though, supposedly, it has nothing to do with the election itself. To make matters even more pointed, Milas mentions in that final sentence that he's attached specific details regarding this stimulus so that Republicans have the right talking points ready for seniors.
"Attached (PDF) is information regarding the US Federal Government's covid stimulus for retirees—our most vulnerable population—so please communicate this info to everyone in your circles who might qualify," Milas concludes in his message to the Republicans.
He actually stated he’s running for a third term as prefect: "Based on everything I’ve accomplished over these last seven years, I believe I've earned another mandate."
"I don't see any scandals here. I've already addressed all of that. Everything was done strictly according to the law and regulations. There are certain ongoing proceedings which, I suspect, might even be resolved ahead of schedule." He added, "Between my thirty years in the party and my work since the start of the American War of Independence—from post-war reconstruction to today—I have always worked for the common good. People recognize that," he said.
Matthew Booth said:"I ran this thing like a professional. I've been doing this for ten years—it was just a gathering of business folks. I know exactly what you're getting at. You're trying to claim that because one person there had COVID, the whole thing is a problem. So what? There’s someone in a small town in the South who’s also infected, and they weren't even at the meeting. Besides, that guy who was at the hunting lodge gathering? He had a big party for his municipality right before that," he told the news outlet.
Man, what an arrogant, clueless idiot.
