I’m always wary when a front office basically hands the entire keys to the kingdom to a single player. It feels like such a massive gamble to stake a whole season's success on one person's shoulders. Does anyone else think this kind of "all-in" rhetoric is just a way to deflect pressure from the rest of the roster?

I’ve been following the news about Hyperion too. But honestly, I’m struggling to wrap my head around a few things: 1. How on earth are they going to squeeze a literal pilgrimage of travelers into a single movie? 2. If they actually intend to adapt the whole saga from start to finish, how many movies are we looking at here?
On another note... I saw some rumors floating around online suggesting that none-other than Leonardo DiCaprio is willing to fund the project and is itching to play Raul Endymion. GET OUT OF HERE, DI CAPRIO!!!!! :2up: Is that lazy bum really going to be the one serving Aene??? 🙂
crimsonjackal8....I really can't bring myself to agree that Jackson ruined LOTR. When you consider how many Hollywood adaptations have absolutely butchered their source material... Jackson’s work is actually one of the least offensive examples out there...
But then again... We’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out with Fincher’s "Meeting with Ram" or Alex Proyas's "I, Robot."
I’m passing on this one, mostly because I could never quite wrap my head around Philip K. Dick... It’s honestly baffling that with such a massive wealth of psychedelic sci-fi literature out there, Hollywood decides to dump all their money into Philip K. Dick instead... But, if they ever decide to do a screen adaptation of Silverberg's "Dying Inside," you can bet I'll be sitting front and center for that one.
And now, I suppose, we should just expect the officials to climb up on that podium right alongside the Germans to announce who actually won... So close, yet somehow still just short... just another silver medal for them!!!!!!!
