Starting a small business in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Anyone know what I’m looking at if I want to open a grocery store selling perishables? Like, what kind of space requirements am I dealing with, and what exams do I actually have to pass? I don't have a background in retail, so I'm pretty much starting from scratch here.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
It really depends on what kind of mess you're dealing with. Every psychiatrist is basically a specialist in their own way—some just happen to focus more on certain issues because that’s where they spend all their time studying or because they see a ton of patients with those specific problems. You've got some who live and breathe addiction and alcoholism, others who are all about phobias and anxiety, and then there are the ones deep in the weeds with stuff like schizophrenia.
If you want a solid recommendation, you gotta specify what's actually going on with you. Even then, there's no guarantee you won't clash with them. It’s a super individual thing. Just like how you might love some people while everyone else can't stand them.
Neck pain help needed in Health ·
Look, we gotta split this mess into two separate issues: your cervical spine and those neck vessels.
Regarding the poor blood flow and narrowing in your vessels—which, just like spinal deformities, can trigger dizziness, headaches, and nausea—you really need to get a full workup from a neurologist (like a carotid Doppler ultrasound and all that) to see what’s actually happening with your circulation. Honestly, besides the obvious stuff like exercising and drinking a ton of water to help those vessels out, there isn't much you can do unless you go under the knife. Your doctor would have to talk to you about vessel dilation or surgery to clear things up.
As for the spinal deformity, whether you were born with it or messed it up with something like whiplash, heat therapy and electrical stim might take the edge off the pain during an acute flare-up, but they aren't fixing the root cause. The real fix? Get a proper anatomical pillow. I'd suggest checking out Tempur-Pedic at a specialized medical supply store—it's definitely not cheap (maybe around $700-$267), but it's worth every penny. These pillows react to your body heat to mold perfectly to your head and neck, providing actual support unlike those cheap foam rollers. It takes a little while to get used to sleeping on your side like that, but it works. Also, if you're in the middle of an acute pain phase, especially if an injury caused it, wearing a cervical collar at night might help, but don't overdo it—keep it to maybe a week max.
Beyond that, the big one is EXERCISE! Nothing else matters without it. You could do rehab exercises prescribed by a physical therapist, or honestly, even a solid Pilates instructor could help. Pilates was basically built for rehab. If you lay it all out and show them your medical records, any decent, certified trainer will know exactly which moves to steer clear of.
Anyway, that's my two cents!
How to stop biting your nails? in Health ·
Are you kidding me? You’ll just end up destroying everything around them if you try that.
People claim it’s all just a projection of their own insecurities and zero self-confidence.
Honestly, the biggest factors for breaking the habit are probably willpower and pure self-control, but getting some gel or acrylic extensions actually helps a ton. That stuff is so tough you couldn't bite through it if you tried, and let's be real—it's basically the only way nail biters can ever have decent, clean hands. Of course, it costs money and you've gotta commit to hitting up a professional salon at least once a month to keep it up.

But man, when they look all shiny and perfect...😁
Great topic and some really interesting reads here. I think digging up hard data on the stuff that’s messing with us is solid, but honestly, swapping real-life stories with people going through the exact same hell is even better. Check out my thread on Anxiety and Panic.
