Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
man, you're a lifesaver around here 🙂

plus now we've got William Edwards14 jumping in to handle the rule-breakers—honestly, an extra set of hands is always welcome, if only to stir up some good old-fashioned debate 😳
Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Alright, look—William Edwards14 explained the practical side of things using three different examples 🙂
—basically, you keep one stamped copy as your proof that you actually filed the appeal.
Traffic violation procedures in Criminal and Misdemeanor Law ·
Look, let's get one thing straight: people in this thread need to stop confusing an objection with an appeal
—to them, everything is just some massive legal appeal 😬
.
Anyway, welcome to the party, William Edwards14 😳.

It’s laid out clearly for you right in the stickied thread—the RULES—you absolutely have to read them before you even think about starting a new topic ☕

amberhawk24 got banned for breaking the PDF rules

Hey, Brian Sanchez2—quick question—who do I even appeal to here, and what kind of arguments actually work? 😁
Retaking the exam in Law ·
So some buddy from Miami asks me why I’m driving in that specific lane—it’s because the other one is marked with a yellow line, obviously! 😕
But then he’s just like—so what? 😬

Everything you need to know is already laid out in this thread
Just look at the timeline and actually read it—what about the statute of limitations? What happens when someone just ignores a court summons? The only thing I find hard to believe is that she isn't getting her mail 😕 or that she isn't picking it up—but hey, if she’s dodging it, that’s a whole different story, and honestly, I wouldn't put it past her 😁

And as for the kid—seriously, maybe hire a babysitter for those two hours of court time if you can't watch them yourself 😎

Is that scooter even yours?
😁

Look, everything you need is already laid out right here—just follow the steps and see what happens once you actually pull the trigger 🙂

northernsurfer64 said:I’m heading to the Voloder Fall Festival this Sunday—planning to just park along the curb—and I'm worried I'll come back to some $75 ticket under Article 82, Section 3 (parking at the intersection of St. Anthony Square and St. Barbara Street). From what I could see where I parked, it isn't even an intersection—anyone who actually knows Voloder knows it's just the stretch between the church and the little bridge toward Topeka on the right side of the road. What’s the move here? Should I contest it based on the fact that they got the facts wrong? Besides, the notice itself lacks a stamp, a signature, or any kind of official header—it's just a slip of paper with a payment voucher stapled to the back. Theoretically, anyone could shove a piece of paper like that under a wiper... I guess. Any advice?

From what I've seen—and I think most people on this forum would agree—there's a thread at the very top titled "GUIDELINES: Must read before posting."

And right next to your topic, there's the TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS thread.

Believe it or not, even after 388 posts on this board, all the rules still apply to you, too. 🙂
And this thread needs to be moved to where it actually belongs.

Look, you can fight it—show up to the hearing when they call you, lay it all out for the judge, and there’s a chance you walk away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist 😁
but then again, there's also the chance they just hit you with an extra $33 in court costs 😳

Appeal for a traffic violation.
Alright folks, I need some help here...

So, I got slapped with a fine today. $667 The court fees were supposed to be $110—but after I filed my appeal for this citation, they hit me with a whopping $2,110. Seriously? I’m a full-time student and there is absolutely no way I can swing that kind of cash right now. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?

So, I got caught by a speed camera, and now they’re demanding I identify who was behind the wheel—me or my old man. In my appeal, I basically told them to just pick one themselves since I don't have any photos to prove anything... good luck with that!

If anyone out there actually knows how to handle stuff like this, please hit me up via DM—I really need some help here.

Thanks in advance.

And now you’ve got a yellow card on top of everything else—all because you couldn't follow the damn PDF guidelines. ☕
You think you're somehow exempt from the rules? Please.
Plus, you clearly aren't looking at the VIOLATIONS thread—honestly, I seriously doubt you even noticed it since it was right there at the top when you opened your topic—you didn't even have to scroll. 🙄
Moving this over to where it actually belongs.

Kevin Mitchell20 said:Need some advice on this situation;
Got pulled over last summer for speeding (limit was 35, I was doing 45 miles/h while passing a semi). Since I wasn't actually flying down the road, I decided to fight it.
It’s been over a year, and honestly, I almost forgot about it.
But then, I got a "lovely" letter from the local court letting me know my appeal was denied and the case is moving forward. Now they want a written statement from me.
I'm stuck. What am I even supposed to write?
In my eyes, I wasn't being reckless just because I passed a big rig hauling two full trailers. If I just admit fault now, I'll have to pay the fine ($200) plus all the court costs.
And if I keep pushing back, things could get even uglier...
Anyone have any actual, useful advice? 🙂

You really should've checked this thread before starting a new one 🥳—all the answers you're looking for are already in there. Just take 15 minutes to sit down and read through it; everything will make way more sense after that. 🙂

Getting flagged just because you didn't read the instructions—it’s clearly stated right at the top of the PDF: READ THIS FIRST!!!

What kind of UPS talk is that? From what I can tell, you don't even have an actual court ruling yet 😕
Keep dreaming about being some righteous hero while everything spins out of control—total case closed 🙂

It’s funny how people always say that nobody actually reads the instructions, but I guess they were right about that one ☕.

I'm gonna ask the mods for permission to let the red lights flash whenever someone posts stuff like this 😁 if they don't just issue a permanent ban🤣

Kimberly Smith6 said:I was just sitting here wondering about the statute of limitations regarding a legal proceeding for a traffic violation that actually dates all the way back to April of 2006. The very first—and honestly, the only—hearing took place in October of 2006, and the opposing party simply failed to show up at all. Does anyone happen to know how much time has to pass before this whole thing officially expires?

What a killer topic— you seriously need to read this—is that not obvious enough?
Maybe you think this stuff is only for kids under 18 😬

not to mention we've talked about this exact thing in this thread like 592,847 times already.
But hey, searching takes effort— 🙄it’s way easier to just start a brand new thread, right?☕

Anyone who isn't breaking any laws shouldn't have to cough up a single cent ☕

We have warnings for that kind of thing here too ☕

Laura Morris4 said:I don't want to pay. And honestly, I don't get the deal with this warning—this is my first time ever getting cited for something like this.

Just grab the law book and look up the actual penalties yourself.

So what’s the actual goal here? Pay more, pay less, or just keep dragging this along until everything becomes obsolete?
Because honestly—this thread is just an absolute firehose of information. 😬

I was honestly convinced they were just some minor 😁
