Youth squads and the hype machine in Fans ·
I honestly feel like we put way too much pressure on these teenagers before they've even hit their prime. It feels like every little exhibition match is treated like a life-or-death championship. Does anyone else think the hype around youth tournaments is getting out of hand?
What is "politzerization"? in Health ·
So, my three-year-old just got ordered by his ENT to go in for something called a Politzerization procedure. From what I’ve gathered, it’s basically a way to clear out the Eustachian tube—you know, that little channel connecting the nose to the ear. They use this kind of specialized pressure device to blow air through the nose, and while they're doing it, the kid has to say certain words like "Coca-Cola" or "chocolate" to help open up the palate when he hits those "k" sounds.
I was wondering if anyone else here has gone through this with their kids? Specifically, is this actually appropriate for a toddler? The doctor mentioned he'll need to do this about 8 to 10 times—every other day, apparently. My biggest worry is that if he starts fighting it—since it probably feels pretty weird or even painful—I really don't want to be the parent who has to force him down and make him suffer through it every single time.
Thanks in advance for any insight!

Alright then. Let's say we split the profits—80% goes to me, 20% stays with you. But how exactly are we splitting the potential losses?
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
So, I noticed nobody's really talked about the Dr. Zora Profozić clinic on this sub yet—specifically regarding the gynecologist there, Dr. Dario Majnarić. Has anyone here actually gone to him or dealt with that clinic at all?
I was thinking about checking them out because they have their own in-house microbiology lab for stuff like swabs, Pap smears, and all that—which sounds super convenient, honestly. Just curious if anyone has any firsthand intel!

Alright, listen up my dear "experts"—I picked up some ERNT stock $310 (back at the end of 2004) and now it’s sitting at $717... and honestly, look at you guys calling me the naive one.
Just to rub it in a little bit—let's say we went from 930 to 2150, which is roughly a 130% jump. So, $40,000 X 130% = $52,000 profit. I'm laying this out right here just so you can see how much nonsense you were spouting when I first asked my question.

😎 😎 👍 I just couldn't help myself. Oh man, I'm definitely going down in history (looking at you, moderator)! 🤣

I'm quoting you again just to highlight what kind of "high level" thinker you really are. Everything you ask for advice on, you label as "advicefrom experts," calling them naive (since clearly you aren't) and claiming they're just talking trash.
On top of that, you mentioned having all these obligations and promised to share your experience once you had more free time. From where I'm sitting, looks like you've got plenty of time since you're always posting. You probably writing your memoirs or something (like Warren Buffett).
And hey, we actually agree on one thing: continuing this argument is a total waste of breath. This is my last post on this thread you started, mostly because I don't want to bother you—after all, I'm "below your level" and apparently "struggling with sound judgment."

My situation is still playing out on the NYSE, where I’m pulling in about $55,000 a year. So go ahead, keep insulting people instead of actually doing something productive.

🙂

Look, I’m not sitting here feeling happy or miserable because you're clearing $55k a year off the stock market, and I don't care one bit that Justin Palmer45 managed a 130% return over a year or so. Honestly, if you both woke up tomorrow and lost everything, I wouldn't be happy or sad about it either.
Your wins—and your losses—don't move the needle for me. It doesn't affect my wallet, so why should I care?
I mean, how much energy would someone have to waste to be jealous of everyone making money in the capital markets? Especially lately, with this massive bull market we've been seeing in the States, there are plenty of people doing just fine.
Nobody was coming for Justin Palmer45 until he dropped that condescending post acting like he's some kind of genius. That’s when things got heated—people were reacting to the ego, not the profit.
At the end of the day, nobody is forcing anyone to do anything here, including you. If you want to enlighten us with your "success story," that's totally your call. This is a free country.

The guy hit it big on some massive trade—maybe some tech stocks or crypto or whatever—and he just wanted to brag about it. That’s just being human, right? It’s only natural to get a little cocky when you're riding high like that. But then, life happens, you take a hit, and suddenly you're feeling a bit humbled—or maybe just a little salty about it. 😁

It’s funny how things work out—one day you're on top of the world, and the next, you're just trying to find your footing again...🙂

dustyscout53 said:I’m actually inclined to side with Justin Palmer45 here, if you don't mind me jumping in. Look, the guy showed up and said that if you put $40,000 into Era back in 2004, you could have walked away with $52,000—and hey, nobody's disputing those numbers. Whether you personally believe him or not isn't really the point of this discussion. If it helps, just look at it as a hypothetical scenario—like a case study of what was possible with certain blue-chip stocks on the NYSE. If you want to push back, go ahead and bring up a different stock where people actually lost money. Though, let's be real, there aren't a whole lot of those out there.

Anyway, we've drifted pretty far from the main topic. To get us back on track, I'll try to tackle the original question myself:

Just invest it. Seriously. Just don't blow it on a shiny new Ford, or fly off to a vacation in the Bahamas, or waste it all on drinking, drugs, or hitting the casino. 😁

Look, you’re totally free to take whoever's side you want. It’s awesome that the guy made some bank, I’m not hating on that—it’s just that if you're going to share that kind of info, there are much better ways to phrase it so you don't come off wrong. Besides, the first person to throw a bit of attitude in this thread was Justin Palmer45 when he started calling people naive and talking about "BS."
Other than that, I feel like if someone starts a thread—especially when they're actively asking for advice—they need to have a bit more thick skin when dealing with the "experts" chiming in. After all, they're the ones who asked for help, not the other way around.

Justin Palmer45,
you just won't admit that you went way overboard. You dismissed basically every bit of advice as total nonsense, but let's be real—not all of it was junk. Especially not the stuff highlighted in blue.

The whole "give it to me" thing was clearly just a joke, and you really shouldn't have taken it so seriously.

Suggesting a high-yield savings account or a CD at the bank is perfectly sound advice—it was explicitly stated as an option if you just wanted to keep your cash safe. Do you honestly think your money was "safe" in ERNT or any other stock?! Look, you obviously wanted to chase higher returns than what a standard bank interest rate offers, so you bought stocks and you made money. Great! Awesome! But that doesn't mean suggesting a safe savings route was some kind of delusional rambling.

And that third suggestion? Also totally fine. The guy had an idea and he was looking for a 10% cut. He reached out to meet up and walk you through his reasoning. That’s completely legitimate business, and I don't see what the problem is there. You don't have to buy into his idea, and you don't even have to meet him. But that doesn't make him a crackpot just because you didn't listen to him. In that case, you could just politely say thanks and pass, or simply ignore the post altogether.

Fourthly, whether people believed it or not—and whether they relied on their own gut or others' experiences—that wasn't a bad idea at all (especially for younger folks). Specifically the part about going to business school, hitting up workshops, or picking up a second language... the experience and knowledge gained from those things can lead to serious money later in life.

At the end of the day, everyone who replied to you after your 17th post was just reacting to your ignorant attitude and that whole "look how much I made in ERNT" ego trip—which, let's face it, was likely backed by someone else's solid advice or just pure luck. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being salty—I was also "sailing pretty smooth" during that period since it wasn't exactly rocket science with the market climbing like that. But that's no reason to rub someone's nose in your gains just because they kept their cash in a bank. My investments could have tanked, and if they did, what then? Who would've been the smart one then—me, or the guy who kept his cash under his mattress?

P.S. I didn't take offense, mostly because I didn't even bother engaging with that condescending post of yours.

Justin Palmer45 said:Man... seriously... where is all this negativity coming from? Look, I’m not trying to insult anyone—really, I’m not. I don't have any intention of being rude, but honestly, I feel like I've taken enough heat already. Like, what did I even do wrong? Just go back and read my first post, then follow everything from there to the end... seriously, just look at the thread once more!

Nobody actually took issue with your very first post.
The problem is when you link that first one to your second post (post #17) where you started talking trash about everyone else.
You were the one who kicked things off by being dismissive, even though you were supposedly looking for feedback.
If you want to make things right, the least you could do is apologize to everyone caught in the middle between post #1 and post #17—otherwise, maybe it's best to just let this topic go.🙂

And then the hunter caught the wolf.
Man, if it were actually that simple, everyone playing the American stock market would be living in mansions by now—but we all know how reality works.
Just because certain big players or indices like BlackRock are hitting all-time highs right now doesn't mean they won't take a massive nose dive tomorrow.
One single headline—say, some major drama during negotiations with the European Union or a sudden shift in policy regarding the expansion of the European Union (which, let's be real, is already happening)—could flip those trends upside down in an instant.

spy said:Your math isn't quite adding up here—if you were picking these up for roughly $900 a pop and flipping them for about $2,100, then your principal should be sitting somewhere around $90,000, not just over $50,000.

I mean, he probably thought his profit alone was $52,000, which when added back to the principal puts him right around that $90,000 mark (though honestly, who knows what his actual transaction fees and overhead looked like).
Either way, if you ask me, he’s one of those guys who jumped into the deep end without actually checking the depth of the pool first—and doing it in a hyper-volatile market like this? Man, in a year or two, he could easily find himself with less capital than when he started.

Just to rub it in a little bit—the jump from 930 to 2150 is roughly a 130% gain. So, if we're talking about a $40,000 investment, that’s an extra $52,000 right there. Why am I even typing this? Wow, look at you, Mr. Genius.
First off, it hasn't even been a year since you asked; it's been a year and eight months.
Second, if you're actually this brilliant, why on earth were you asking for advice in the first place?
And third—once you've managed to pull off a win like that another two or three times, then maybe come back and talk to us. Otherwise, the reality is you just got lucky—you're just one of a bunch of people who caught a lucky break on ERNT.
Later. 🙂
