From what I remember, they told me training happens every single day. The membership fee is $67 and you get full access to the gym
They say the workouts are pretty intense, but honestly, they’re super happy with it
As far as I know, they take on amateurs too... one of my friends had never even lifted a weight before joining, and they took him in without any issues
p.s. This info is about a year old, so I can't promise things haven't changed. Your best bet is just to show up for a session and chat with the coach directly
Go to Thailand! I know for a fact you'll be training under Senad Osterman... he was coached by Tigar Cikatic back when they were absolutely tearing up every single competition, and the guy is a former national team coach and a legend in the fighting community 🙂 Between those two, you seriously can't go wrong with either one

If he wants to go for it, let him! It's an awesome sport.👍

I started working out two weeks ago—nothing crazy yet, mostly just doing 50 push-ups and 50 squats with some dumbbells. I'm trying to put on some mass because at 6'3", I'm a skinny 155 lbs. How long until I actually start seeing results from this protein stuff?
Honestly, you'd be much better off joining a gym. But if you really don't feel like doing that, then fine—just crank out those reps, and I mean A LOT of them...
Push-ups, pull-ups, dips, squats, running.
If you're living near downtown, check out the trails by the local park; you can combine a bunch of different exercises there.
Or just hit the local hiking trails.
Also, if you can, grab a barbell for deadlifts, squats, military presses...

Honestly, that sounds like the best move.👍
My recommendation: check out the clubs in Holy Spirit or Spartan. You could also try UFK Dubrava, though I'm not sure about their exact schedule—they mostly focus on MMA, so they might have Muay Thai sessions tucked in there somewhere.
Does anyone know where I can pick up one of those headgear styles they used at that amateur MMA tournament in Florida? It’s the kind that covers the nose and face—the goal is to avoid getting a broken nose or facial cuts. Or maybe I've seen something similar used in Krav Maga classes, where only the eyes and mouth are exposed? Let me know if you've seen any!

It doesn't matter. I'm sure there's some truth to what you're saying.
I don't give a damn where someone comes from. But when you see this kind of blatant theft happening? It honestly makes you want to hit rock bottom just so you can tear their whole world apart.
That’s just straight-up robbery, honestly. How does that even happen? You’ve got a guy stepping into the ring for the very first time, basically a total rookie, and he somehow walks away with a win after barely landing a single punch. Meanwhile, his opponent has a massive resume and a mountain of fights under his belt. It makes zero sense. Total sham.👎
Even if I were the biggest idiot on the planet, I still wouldn't have gone looking for a fight with them... but hey, that’s just how it goes, I guess.
Chris Taylor2 said:Can I throw a question out there for the Pit Bull enthusiasts? So, I see Frane Radnič has taken the top spot, and look, huge congrats to him and all, really, but I’m dying to know when we finally get to see Borović vs. Radnič. I mean, we seriously need to see if he can actually back up the talk and show us how good he truly is. During this last championship, Radnič pulled off a win against Zamana, but honestly, that decision was super sketchy—it felt totally undeserved if you ask me. It makes me wonder, if things start going south and he can't hold it together until the end, will the judges just step in and give him a little extra help to keep him on top?
And some of those other fights were pretty sketchy too, but hey, I guess that’s just how it goes sometimes, unfortunately...
From what I heard, Zaman and this guy were both right up there, but whatever, man...
The European Championships are happening in Lithuania in two weeks, so let's see how many medals they bring home. Good luck to everyone, especially our one guy from Split!🙂
Alright... I see everyone here is tearing me apart, but clearly, nobody here actually lives in Chicago and knows what that intersection looks like in person...
That intersection is shaped like a T and there is no way you’re flying through that turn at 60 mph if you actually want to make it around safely...
Second off, when you're heading from one main street toward the downtown area, you can see at least 200 yards in every direction, and even more coming toward the center. Just so we're clear—there wasn't anyone else on the road. Plus, the road is wide, at least 50 feet across, and everything was lit up perfectly.
Third, I slowed down to 2 mph because I was still thinking about the fact that if someone comes barreling out without headlights, I might have to slam on the brakes again. And for the record, I did stop and wait for five seconds or longer, which proves I wasn't drunk and didn't just fly into the turn like a lunatic without even noticing there was a traffic light...
Fourth, there is a massive difference between speeding through a green light at 120 mph and hitting someone versus what happened here.
Frank Walker7 Don't twist my words; I hate that (you sound like some hack journalist)... Just actually read what I meant regarding the part you bolded...
When I wrote "of course everything is fine," I wasn't saying I was sober—I meant my paperwork is in order and my record is clean. I haven't been penalized for anything, neither on the road nor anywhere else.
A .08 BAC isn't the same thing for a parent with a 30lb seven-year-old as it is for someone weighing 180lbs or more, so I don't really feel like debating that point...
The internet is a toxic place because people like you get to act all high and mighty behind a screen without ever having to stand by those words face-to-face.
AND YOUR P.S.—nobody asked you, so you don't need to offer your "suggestions"...
So, here’s the deal... It was 4:00 AM in April... I’m driving down Bauer's toward the Vlach district. I stop at a red light, but there isn't a soul out on the streets. After about five seconds, I pull off at 1.2 miles/h (super slow, just first gear) and very cautiously enter the intersection, heading toward Central Park. About 50 meters later, I turn left onto Petrov. As soon as I hit Petrov, I see blue lights behind me and pull over to the side. They pull me over to check things out, and everything seems fine initially, but then the trouble starts when they ask if I've been drinking. I told them yes, but just a couple of beers. The thing is, I stopped drinking by 1:00 AM at the latest because I knew I had to drive, and I felt totally sober. But once we got to the station, my breathalyzer came back at 0.17. I don't know if that's considered high, but I didn't feel drunk or anything—I wasn't driving wild or anything, just a normal drive. I'm 5'11" and probably weighed about 185 lbs at the time.
And then... they write me up for running the red light ($333) after 11:00 PM ($167, and I'm a new driver) plus the alcohol charge ($667). Plus points, and I'll likely lose my license in just under a year once it all adds up.
They claimed I ran the red light, but they didn't mention that I actually stopped and waited before entering the intersection carefully. They saw it because they were parked right there, but since it was pitch black, I didn't realize it was a police car; I just thought it was a regular vehicle... Also, this is my very first offense... and they're applying the old laws, not the new ones yet.
My question is: Is there anything I can actually do about this? 🙂
Peter Alvarez2 said:For anyone looking to get into Muay Thai just for fun—and if you need a gym right in the heart of downtown—I can highly recommend Spartan Gym.
It’s hard work, honestly—but the trainer is incredibly patient and makes sure to give everyone individual attention—plus, the crew there is super friendly and always willing to lend a hand... I'm really happy with my choice.😁
Isn't there a Spartan Gym somewhere near the Spanish District?😕
