Adoina, God forbid things get any worse... seriously, believe me, there are people out there dealing with way more misery than single moms—people facing serious illnesses or watching their kids struggle with health issues... even if you happen to be pregnant right now, trust me, it’s not the end of the world. As long as the kids come out healthy and strong, everything else will just sort itself out eventually... 😘
neoncobra43 said:Fast forward to today, and the reality is much heavier: I'm pregnant, struggling through depression, and feeling completely isolated, while he's still drifting in and out of his parents' house. We mostly just end up fighting, and as the due date creeps closer, I find myself spiraling further into this sense of dread and sadness.
Look, sweetie, you seriously need to sort this mess out before the wedding—no matter how hard it is—because if you don't, things are gonna go south fast!!!
And honestly, > hit the nail on the head... maybe remind him that you aren't exactly going to be able to enjoy any actual intimacy if his mama is hovering over you guys the whole time. 😉
neoncobra43 said:Yes, that was exactly the situation for me, and now I’m at a total loss. I have a boyfriend and an only son who is so attached to his mother he can't stand to be apart from her, and the prospect of moving in with his family sounds like a living nightmare. Part of me has even considered just sending everything away and raising the child on my own. To put it bluntly, I feel like I've made a massive mess of my life.
So, wait... does he actually care more about his mommy than he does about you and your unborn baby? Look, leaving my own parents was incredibly hard, don't get me wrong, but I would move to the literal edge of the earth for my husband... just saying. Try sitting him down and having a real talk—explain that things will be way better if you two have your own space. Besides, if you end up moving in with his mother like he wants, he'll realize how much of a headache that "communal" living situation actually is sooner rather than later!
Joshua Clark said:Yeah, I do... though it’s definitely not some perfect fairy tale. I’m a single mom. The father actually resurfaced after two and a half years of zero contact, and now he wants to be involved in everything. He loves our little guy, and we've been together constantly lately—things are honestly better than they used to be (this whole saga has been going on for five years now). We're currently trying for another one because we love each other and we want our son to have a sibling. That said, I still don't fully trust him yet—we're both still students and all that... So, the situation is light-years away from being "ideal" for having another baby. Plus, my doctor warned me that it's either get pregnant before the surgery or undergo the procedure and say goodbye to Unknown and Ramona—or whoever else (since I've always wanted my son to have a brother or sister). Nobody—like I said the first time, and I'll say it again— whatever happens, happens. I am incredibly grateful to the universe for my son, and we'll just see if the universe decides I need more children in my life. 🙂
Hey Joshua Clark, sending you all the good vibes in the world... but hey, you're already seeing a bit of an upward trend if things with your son's dad are actually looking up!!! Good Luck Inc. 😘
Joshua Clark said:Thanks, ladies. I’m bleeding a bit heavier today, but it’s still nothing compared to my usual flow. Honestly, if I were pregnant, I definitely wouldn't be upset. I want a kid. Especially since right after giving birth—assuming I can even carry a pregnancy to term—I have to go under the knife. Basically, if I'm not pregnant, I'll need surgery very soon, which means having kids becomes off the table entirely. The timing is just terrible... really sucks. Even the first time around wasn't exactly ideal 😍 Nobody knows, we'll see. It is what it is. I just have to step up and take responsibility.
@neoncobra43: I know I’m being dense, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I had this thought—like, who am I to know? Maybe once all that (semen) dries up, it isn't as mobile anymore. You get what I mean? Of course, I wasn't actually planning for that; I just didn't give it much thought because I figured when the sperm are all together in that fluid mass, they're plenty mobile and all that (since most women can't get pregnant any other way...). But once that stuff dries out, it'll be hard for an XX or XY to swim out of it. Are you saying that was exactly what happened with you?
@placidjackal14: I wasn't on antibiotics, but I did have diarrhea and vomiting for a week—lost 10 pounds. I ate nothing, so I assumed the sample was weaker because of that. However, I've been eating normally for a while now. In fact, I'm eating a ton. Hmm... was I even sick, or...? 🤔
Anyway, I can't wait to find out the exact details so I can let you guys know how fascinating nature is—and how even more fascinating idiots can be 😍 😂 🤣
Unknown... look, if you want a baby but you're worried you won't be able to have one after the surgery... just take action, talk to your boyfriend/husband... if you want to be pregnant, I'm crossing my fingers for you!!! My advice is to go see a gynecologist regardless, they'll be able to give you a 100% certain answer to your question......
And you're saying you were actually sick too... did you end up taking any antibiotics or anything? I know from experience that whenever I take any kind of pills, my period tends to be incredibly late and starts out super light... so honestly, being sick could totally be the reason.
Joshua Clark said:Well, look at me... I used to give everyone else here such a hard time, basically telling them, "Just buy a test already!"—which, honestly, probably contributed to all those separate threads merging into this one. Now, here I am, asking the very same question.
So... I’m assuming I didn't. Okay, let me get into the details. I was with him (XY)—he never finished inside me, and neither am I using any contraception, nor is he. Basically, he didn't finish inside me, but we were fooling around after he did, and he hadn't showered or anything. And now... well, now I have my period. (Though, since I was pregnant during my last two cycles, I don't really experience a "normal" period anymore). The issue—or maybe it isn't an issue—is that this bleeding doesn't feel like a period at all. I've only had to change a pantyliner a few times today, even though there's definitely some flow going on. My breasts feel a bit firmer, but they usually feel like that before my period anyway. Usually, once my period actually hits, they just go soft... but they haven't yet. So, what I really want to know (and I know I should probably know this myself, but I'm losing my mind here)—is spotting or physiological bleeding possible in early pregnancy? You know, like that mucus plug thing? Anyway, I won't ramble too much; I'll check back in once I know more. For now, please just tell me if any kind of bleeding is considered normal during early pregnancy. Oh, right—also, my periods are usually absolutely brutal, but this time there's no pain at all. Mind you, I was sick three weeks ago and barely ate anything, so maybe that's why my period is so light... if this is even a period. 😍 Okay, now I'm just sitting here laughing at myself.
Look, Joshua Clark.... girls have talked about this plenty of times already. There’s something called implantation bleeding in early pregnancy while the embryo is still "nesting" in the uterus. That plug you mentioned isn't that... the bloody, mucousy plug comes out right before you give birth, so we can definitely rule that out in your case. Just go grab a test and try it, or wait a few more days; maybe it really is just a light period, maybe you've been under a ton of stress or something....
Whatever happens, I hope you get the result you're hoping for! 😘
Look, a test can definitely give you a false negative, but it’s never going to be a false positive! Seriously, what are you guys waiting for? Just get to the OB-GYN already... and honestly, it's totally possible her period is just running late because of all the stress she's under...
So you’re saying you guys used a condom... which means the odds of pregnancy are pretty slim, even if they aren't zero... honestly, I’m convinced there’s just something funky going on with that test. You should probably run it again—and make sure you actually do it right this time, because at least one line should show up in that control window to prove the thing isn't a dud. In my experience, these tests have never steered me wrong. Just try one more time and... take it slow. And hey, look at the bright side—if your girl actually ends up pregnant, you'll know exactly what needs to happen next.
Look, it’s actually pretty straightforward... just retake the test!! Maybe you didn't even do it right the first time... honestly, if you want the easiest, 100% foolproof way to know, just head to an OB-GYN. They'll run an ultrasound and give you a definitive answer on whether there's a pregnancy there or not. Good luck, and I hope you get the result you're actually hoping for!
Welcome to the club, Vivien—and seriously, don't even sweat it... you’re gonna be so incredibly, incredibly glad you’re carrying that little one around before you know it. Good luck 😘
Daniel Robinson6 said:ughhh... tell me about it. I’m getting all those "signs" too, and now I've even got these stupid breakouts popping up... do I seriously have to take the test first thing in the morning?
You can actually use an Clearblue anytime during the day... my period was about five days late and I just took one in the afternoon. But hey, if you want to be 100% sure and avoid any guesswork, stick to that first morning pee.
The test should be around $20 at the CVS, and honestly, it's been the most reliable one I've used—at least for me...
Oh yeah, it’s totally possible. And honestly, those symptoms you mentioned? They could definitely be pregnancy, but they could also just be... well, anything else. boldeagle3 gave you some solid advice there—just go grab a test. Victoria's Secret makes one that's super reliable; I used it once and it gave me a positive right away, so you won't be stuck guessing for long. Good luck! 😘

ugh, yeah... so you didn't clear up that sore throat the first time and now everything’s basically turning into a pus party... I'm telling you this because I've been there—I used to deal with constant infections before I finally just had my tonsils out a couple of years ago. You seriously need to get to a doctor ASAP so they can get you on some antibiotics before the other side decides to join the chaos too. Honestly, even if it doesn't hurt right now, don't ignore it—if you don't treat it, the pain is gonna hit you hard pretty soon.
restlessfox9 said:I'll drop this in this subforum as well, just in case someone might have an answer... 🙂
Ladies... I haven't been around here for a while. So, a few days ago I went to see my doctor, and he told me I had a miscarriage at 20 weeks. I was bleeding a little, and honestly, I just assumed it was my period since the symptoms felt identical—except the pain was absolutely unbearable, which is why I finally went in for an exam... anyway, he tells me this is "normal." He actually said most women who experience a loss this early don't even realize it happened??? And then he tells me not to worry. Now I'm asking you all: has anyone else gone through something similar? How am I supposed to process this? I mean, I truly cannot wrap my head around it... how can he possibly think this is just normal? :-(
Oh honey... first off, I am so incredibly sorry, I know exactly how much this hurts... I was actually right here on this forum about two and a half months ago, posting as a super happy expectant mom, but then at 7 weeks, they did an ultrasound and told me there was nothing there—a blighted ovum, essentially. No embryo at all. I ended up having to have a D&C, which was a whole ordeal... Did they see anything on your ultrasound, like, was the embryo visible? My doctors kept telling me the same thing—that these situations are common and happen all the time, especially during a first pregnancy. Don't let it get to you too much, I know it's brutal, but trust me, if you can find a way to accept it, the weight will lift sooner... If it was meant to be, at least it happened naturally and you didn't have to deal with the hospital misery I did. Just try to rest, shake off all that stress, get your routine checkups done before you try again, and then go for it... Just stay positive, everything is going to be okay... hopefully we'll both be back on this forum soon, but as pregnant moms this time 👍 😘 😘
