IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
silverbadger said:The real issue stems from the Okta application.
Even after reaching out to the IRS, I didn't get much traction there, but at least they actually called me back, which was a nice change of pace compared to the usual helpdesk experience. I'm going to copy and paste the email my buddy sent me explaining the fix. Once I went through a fresh installation, everything started working perfectly again.

To make it simple, you just head over to the Chase website, navigate to the Support section, select the web installation option, and then install the drivers for your card reader along with the new Okta. When you go to sign your first document, the system will prompt you for the file path to acpsk11#, so you'll need to type that in. Just make sure you do a quick search on your computer beforehand so you know exactly where that specific file is located.

And just like that, everything is back up and running smoothly.

🤔

I think there's some logic to what was written here, but I'd probably need a much longer explanation to actually grasp what needs to be done. 😁

Could you maybe break it down step-by-step for the complete amateurs, or at least give me a slightly more detailed version? 😁

I dig your way of thinking. 😁

I wasn't there for this one. The post is solid, though—thanks for the help.

I already went on a little trip last week, and now I’m gearing up for another one 😉

It's not worth stressing over a three-day window... When the time comes, it'll happen, and there's no point in rushing ahead of schedule 😳

A monster? 🤣

How did things even get this bad? 🤣

You can bet on it—I’m way further north than you are, and I’ve got plans to head toward the CIA 🤣

I’m sorry if I kept poking at you; I know there wasn't any room for it (and hey, we've known each other long enough that I wouldn't bother if I didn't respect you!). My reaction mostly came from feeling like the judge had indicted me, and then you stepped in to carry out the sentence. I truly believe that wasn't your intention, though—it’s just interesting to wonder if someone else would get hit with similar negativity for making an uncomfortable post—like one claiming everyone is basically a thief. To me, it felt like a direct shot at both myself and all of us trying to play by the rules.

So, instead of getting angry and jumping ship to some other site, I’m choosing to stay. One bad episode shouldn't wipe out years of good history, right? Give my best to the supervisor who reached out—I'd be happy to hash things out with them—but hopefully, we're still good, just like always?

Awwwwwwww 😍
Don't sweat the small stuff. I'm not holding anything against you. 😉

I believe you, especially since the fact that they aren't even a moderator isn't exactly helpful info (??)

Let's go over this one more time... Standard users have blue usernames, moderators are black, super-mods (who watch the mods) are red, and admins (who run the whole show) are purple.
Once my name turns blue, you'll know I'm no longer a moderator. These roles aren't set in stone forever. 😉

This whole thread is starting to feel like a grind. It’s hard to find it interesting anymore. 🤷

Wait, I don't follow. Are we talking about number 1 or number 109? They didn't specify anything regarding that in the documentation, so I sent them an email. Just waiting to hear back. 😬

EDIT: Got a reply; the new IRS ledger starts over at number 1 effective July 1st.

hm 🤔

Really? 🤔

Well, good to know...

Nicole Lee6 said:That’s exactly what I was just about to ask. 😬 I’ve gone ahead and continued my work on the billing accounts, moving all those payment terminals over to the new module.

I’m currently staring at my screen in a complete state of confusion regarding these cash receipts from the Fiskal1 tablet—specifically the ones issued between July 1st and July 10th. Since I hadn't integrated the new Sales Tax module yet, I went ahead and logged them into the old IRS regular accounts ledger, though I neglected to include the payment dates. This is a business operating on a cash basis, so that distinction matters. Now, I find myself in this tedious position where I have to go back, delete everything from the old system, and re-enter it all into the new Sales Tax module and the new IRS ledger. My concern is the sequencing. If the very last entry in my old regular accounts ledger (under the old Sales Tax module) was, say, number 108, does the numbering in the new module's IRS ledger pick up right where I left off at 109, or am I expected to restart the entire sequence at 1?

It's 😉

I'm just browsing through the threads to double-check your answers. 🤣

It’s the same deal we dealt with when the sales tax jumped from 23% to 25%. We had to manually input the first IRS number for the new module, essentially picking up right where the previous one left off.

And yeah... I haven't actually grabbed the new license yet, so I'm just talking hypothetically here. ☕

Benjamin Palmer80 said:Yesterday, we finally got a written response from the IRS stating that invoices for the USA should only include the exemption clause from the law or regulation, without mentioning reverse charge.

Thanks. You won't mind if I double-check this one more time, right?
The whole situation is starting to feel like a bad joke. 🤣

I actually went back through my notes from the training seminars because I honestly thought I was losing my mind and had completely misremembered everything. I attended two different sessions—one before the law was even passed, and another on July 8th. Both times, for services provided to a major firm in Chicago, my notes explicitly stated "IPA - reverse charge."
I even called the consultants, and they gave me the exact same information.

ruggedmaker2 said:I’m constantly refreshing those IRS pages, praying they’ll finally give us a straight answer about this miserable reverse charge mess. But nope... nothing 🤷

From what I gather, "reverse charge" can basically apply to any export within the European Union when dealing with a registered taxpayer. It’s just a way of saying the tax liability shifts, even if they should technically cite the specific legal code—but honestly, getting into that level of detail is just splitting hairs 😁

For services, I’ve double-checked everything from professional seminars to calling up consultants directly. Still, I’m going to go over it one more time (maybe two, maybe three) just to be sure. 😁

The HUR-s organization, led by our lecturer Miljenka Cutvarić, who also serves as an advisor to HZRIF. She’s a wonderful woman, and I really can’t thank her enough for all the patience she's shown me. 😍

At the seminar, they basically admitted this is just a messy transition phase for the income earners, and honestly, the way it was drafted into the tax code is a bit clumsy. You’ve got one group paying sales tax based on when the cash actually hits the register, while everyone else doesn't have to wait for a payment to claim their input tax—they just go by the invoice date.

You've got to include the local currency if you want to go that route.
Go take a look at Article 81 of the tax code, then you can decide for yourself what the requirements actually are.

But hey... if she’s invoicing a client in Italy using euros, I guess they should be paying us back in our own currency, right? 😬

It was right there on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and I know we were debating it in some thread somewhere. Honestly, I can't recall which one and I really don't have the energy to go hunting for it 😛
