Who actually went after Vanguard?
Even if someone did, they can hold their own just fine 😛

Don't worry, I fixed the post. Daniel Castillo12 and I already hashed everything out. We even have a master plan for world domination in the works 🥳

Vanguard, don't be jealous; remember how nicely we were chatting yesterday over accounting? At least they didn't delete us.
Henry Edwards33... I wish I could say thank you, really, but my pride won't let me. So... fine, if you insist, just "blue" whatever it is you're offering.😂 Thanks.

Anyway, guys... why have you all "targeted" me (to quote someone🙂...
Did I really make such a massive blunder? Come on, can I get an apology? I'm new here and I did warn you—show some compassion.
Or don't... if you're all just one big jerk!🙂)

We’re going to end up underwater, and everyone will just shrug and say, "Well, you got exactly what you asked for." 😛

It’s honestly a bit depressing to realize there are people out there even more full of themselves than I am. 😂

You didn't do anything wrong. It's just that you're new here, and you're a woman—so of course they’re going to come for you. Honestly, don't let it get to you; some people just don't know how to act any other way. 😉

Yeah 🙂

I I’ll keep deleting them until you figure out that there’s zero need to quote the post right before yours 😈

What now... should I go ahead and delete this quote of yours too? 🤔

: sipping coffee:

What’s actually wrong with the post? Is it because the quotes aren't blue? So what... you can clearly see they're 🤷

Fix them? Daniel Castillo12, do you really need the quotes in a post to be blue? 😁

What can I even say about it...
Honestly, it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but you know how it goes—certain people just can't handle losing their precious little status symbols. 🤦

I haven't even grabbed my morning coffee yet. 😲
I'm heading out to go fix a mistake. ☕

I'm afraid the government operates a bit differently here in the States. They don't need to prove you used the car for personal use; you have to prove that you didn't. 🙄

Spot on... it's backwards! You're guilty until you prove your innocence.

Of course, I haven't heard anyone say it isn't necessary. That's exactly what helps you prove that all those miles were driven for business purposes. 😉

I deal with unruly owners..🙄 but I've done my part by handing out the vehicle logs and warning them about record-keeping, hasn't that?
The 70:30 split works fine for me without needing a detailed mileage log. 🤷

There, I finally got the post formatted correctly!!

I'm only bringing this up because some people actually rely on this function, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm trying to act like something I'm not. 🙄 🤣

It isn't strictly personal use anymore... though you're thinking along the right lines. Given how things have been heading lately, I wouldn't be surprised if they go that route...

But then they'd actually have to prove that 30% of vehicle usage was *truly* for private errands... so honestly, stop giving them ideas. You might just hand a government official a perfect way to pick the public's pockets.

I’ve moved you to my own list just to save myself the administrative headache. 🙂
I really hope none of them are reading this, though they probably should—it would be useful for them to hear what actual professionals think about these practices in practice.
Anyway, are people still required to maintain mileage logs for personal vehicles? Isn't that exactly what justifies that 30% figure? I handed those logbooks out to my staff years ago, but it seems like nobody even touches them anymore.
Seriously though... is it actually mandatory to keep those records if we're splitting costs at a 30:70 ratio?

😘

Easy for you to say. 😍

Yeah, well... I’m just the moderator. 😢 The admins have purple usernames. 🤣

You really think they give a damn about what the experts have to say?
It would be nice to think they actually give a damn, but if you ask me, they couldn't care less. 😬

The VTi underhood setup. said:But then they’d actually have to prove that the 30% mileage was *actually* for personal use. It's one thing to throw a number around, but proving it? Good luck with that.

It honestly scares me how things work in this country. It feels like the burden of proof has completely flipped on its head. They don’t feel the need to prove you were using a company vehicle for personal errands; instead, they just expect you to prove that you weren't. It’s a backwards way to run a system. 🙄

Of course, I haven't heard anyone say otherwise. Honestly, that’s exactly what helps you prove that every single mile was driven for business purposes. 😉

Even if the Federal Register is technically "on time," I've seen plenty of instances where they still lag behind on actual publication. 🤣

Daniel Castillo12 said:Honestly, the sheer incompetence and indecision from our economic policymakers is going to drive us into a deficit regardless.
Look, even a child understands the math: if you cut corporate profits in half with taxes, you aren't collecting more revenue by raising the rate—you’re just shrinking the pool you're drawing from.
Eventually, you end up with a tiny fraction of the actual economic activity.
Instead of supporting the companies that are actually making money or providing relief to those struggling to stay afloat,
we act like this. In my experience, we used to keep our earnings within the business, focusing on reinvesting and building up healthy capital to strengthen our assets.
We only paid out small dividends here and there.
And now, the solution is to punish us by taking 40%—or whatever ridiculous number they settle on—of everything? If we want to pay out from pure profit, they want to take a massive cut? It's madness.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the IRS started taxing things retroactively just because the federal treasury is running low. At this point, any move they make is "justified" in their eyes.

We were actually discussing this regarding stocks just the other day. Now it looks like they’re coming for those gains too... It makes you wonder what else they'll target next, especially since some of these legislative proposals seem to defy all logic. 🤣

Don't worry about it, we're all good.

I'm actually glad to hear that.

Things got a little chaotic because Reddit crashed right while I was moving everything around. 🙄

Hopefully, everyone else finds their way around just as easily. 😍

I messed up while moving some posts around on Reddit 🙄

Hey Daniel Castillo12, I honestly didn't want to step in and kill the momentum because your insights are actually pretty useful, but that thread was getting way off-topic. I hope this move doesn't throw anyone off too much—feel free to keep chatting here if you want.
My only goal is to keep the Accounting section organized and easy to follow.

What miserable weather... When is summer finally getting here? 😁

Doesn't matter, though. I'm officially on vacation, which means doing absolutely nothing. My biggest dilemma right now is deciding which coffee shop to hit for my morning caffeine fix. 😍

So, feel free to be jealous. 🤣

😘 thanks, you're too kind,
but I don't think there's much comfort to be found here. It feels like we don't know how to talk about anything except accounts, interest rates, and tax laws... It’s a grim reality, really 🙂

Eventually, this chat will fade into obscurity, and I suspect this whole attempt at a chat on the PRP will be forgotten just as quickly 🤣

The data is finally in. I’ll be kicking back and relaxing starting this Saturday. 🙂

Looks like everyone else actually made it to the finish line. Enjoy yourselves!

That’s just the base pay, bonuses not even included. For every strike, the ban length gets longer... It’s not bad, but look, I’m just a moderator for a single PDF, and I’m still pretty green, so I have to grind harder than some of my colleagues ☕
Vajli is a heavyweight mod, though—one of the guys I actually look up to. Just look at all those high-end spots he hits thanks to that moderation stipend. 😍

I’m with silentsailor5 on this one; it’s not about "maybe" wanting it... You have to want it with everything you've got—heart, soul, body—otherwise, you won't get anywhere in moderation. We basically live to moderate and moderate to live. 🧐

Oh, please. People might actually start thinking you're being serious here. 😂

Look, we aren't quite that pathetic. We can talk about things like the weather or our health instead... 😂

It feels like everyone else is either stuck working overtime or drowning in these endless new regulations. Honestly, thank God they roll out a new federal mandate every single month just to keep us from getting bored. 🤣
