Just thought I’d share this in case anyone needs a lead—I was at a wedding at the Westin in San Francisco recently. The food was top-tier, service was flawless, and they had an absolute army of servers constantly on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Thanks in advance.

Sent you a DM.🙂

I made two five-liter batches.

I had been putting it in cold water.

I put what I packed into plastic bottles straight into the freezer, and moved two glass ones into the fridge, so there’s absolutely no need for preservatives.

Kenneth Brown5, you should have just tossed it. This is way too green; it needs to be yellow.

I was sticking strictly to the rule that if it says 24 hours, it should be fine, and since there wasn't any mention of keeping it in the fridge, I was worried about it spoiling, but it seems okay.
The only thing is, leaving it sitting in the sugar and lemon for another 24 hours feels like overkill since the sugar usually dissolves way before that.

So that’s normal then? Great, I feel much better now.

I’m definitely not leaving it sitting on sugar and lemon for that long; two or three hours is plenty of time for it to dissolve.

I’m attempting making elderberry juice for the first time. I was told to soak the flowers in water (boiled and then cooled) for 24 hours, though apparently longer is better. Well, it's day two now and it’s starting to smell a bit off.
Is that because it’s been sitting in the water too long? Should I toss it, or should I go ahead and make the juice today?

I'm with you there, Daniel Smith8.

And Jack Murphy7, if you say you play music at weddings, then I'm struggling to understand how you even define the term "retainer."

One more thing—that last sentence of yours, if I may be blunt, sounds a bit off. If you were actually loaded, you wouldn't be hanging out on a forum trying to advertise and hawk your services.

The food is top-tier, and the servers are total pros—they're practically invisible, yet always right there when you need them.

back in 2012.

It’s all a scam. I remember when they were shooting this whole thing—they were supposedly photographing some prince from Saudi Arabia at some fancy hacienda in Spain or whatever. Just pure smoke and mirrors...
And then, just a few days before, we found out the guy was a total fraud a married couple was actually dealing with. They had already paid him a deposit to shoot that obnoxious prince on short notice after being offered the gig. We only heard about it from a guy who plays in the band at their parties... because the couple called him to ask for help finding a photographer since the original guy screwed them over at the last second... as if he was actually going to find them a decent replacement after they'd already handed him a massive deposit...

:

Yeah, true. A friend of mine went through this; he’s losing his mind over it. He reached out to the guys in the band to see if they could recommend someone, even though he’d paid the deposit a full year in advance. It really makes you wonder what the hell a deposit is actually for if not to secure a pro.

To make matters worse, this so-called "photographer" suggested he could come by a week before (or after, I can't quite recall) to do a little preliminary shoot.😂
Completely unprofessional.

I’ve been reading through this thread and I honestly don't get it—why is this guy so highly regarded?

Does anyone actually have experience staying at the Grand Hyatt in Miami? I’ve been hearing rumors that it turns into a total sauna during the summer because of all the humidity coming off the indoor pool.
Please, if you've been there, let me know what it's really like.

That’s simply not true. They have high-end AC in the lounge area, so it stays comfortable—actually, it can even get a bit chilly. There isn't any humidity issues at all. Plus, the servers are fantastic; they're old-school professionals who are always on top of things. Personally, I'm not a fan of the room decor—it's honestly depressing—but everything else deserves praise.

As for the band, I honestly haven't the slightest clue who we're going to hire yet..
I've been looking through every photographer available in the Miami area, and I'm really torn between California and Julia's studio...

Have you considered DJ Khaled? He’s fantastic—he picks up a guitar when the party hits its peak, right after the cake, and just turns the whole room into a riot.

Getty Images, without a doubt. Their work is top-tier.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that Irra does rentals.

I highly recommend Nina. She did my makeup for a daytime wedding, and I couldn't be happier with the results. If anyone needs her contact info, just shoot me a DM.

driftingfox50 said:Does anyone know a solid DJ operating around the San Francisco or Savannah area? I’m currently living in the Netherlands, but I’m getting married in Savannah next summer at the Hotel Meden—and since we'll have quite a few Dutch guests attending the festivities, the DJ really needs to have an international repertoire. Of course, they should play local favorites, but it's vital that they can spin English hits and even some Dutch tracks too.

Is there anyone out there who could point me in the right direction?

Thanks!👍

DJ Leta👍 will cost you $1333 (at least that was the rate back in October); if you want, I can send you the number.

Smith is currently following Harry Roncevic and running The Salon. He's a fantastic guitarist, though I'm not sure if he still plays any blues.

Anonymous said:It looks like Ino and Mammoth are keeping their distance from each other lately, right? They’ve both got about a month and a half of downtime ahead of them 🤷
But honestly... just thinking about those two together 🙂
I'd love it if someone could post some photos of those two rooms (if they're out there anywhere) along with some thoughts on them... 🙂

It doesn't necessarily mean someone got fired or anything.🤷

But Ino—well, you should probably check around. My guy plays there all the time, and every single time, we get lamb. It's either served cold or just totally bland, even though people act like they're serving up gourmet lamb.

Have you looked into that hall over in Lorain that everyone raves about, or maybe those venues out in Long Beach?

Anonymous said:Even MBM is saying this. It’s like Reka said—he doesn't care if they aren't the best musicians on the planet, as long as they actually know how to set the right mood... ☕
I'm trying to go shopping... I've been getting ready for two hours and I'm still not moving. There's no way I'm leaving the house before noon. 😲
👋

True. They could have world-class vocals, but if they can't build an atmosphere and push the energy when it counts, what's the point?
Then again, if the crowd at the party is just dead weight—sitting around and refusing to dance—you can't blame the music. You blame the guests.

Take this for example: there was this band, let's call them The Killers, absolute pros, guaranteed to bring the vibe. But I went to one of their shows where people just sat there, the AC was broken, and it was a sweltering summer night. Everyone was hovering by the exits to escape the heat while the band kept pushing through. It wasn't the band's fault—everyone knows they're incredible—it was the crowd.

I feel the same way about Adria; they aren't all that special. They were definitely at the top of their game a long time ago, but the lineup changed and now they’ve lost their edge. That’s just my take, though.

Since I’m a musician myself, I have some thoughts.😍😍I won't name his band publicly because I refuse to give them free advertising.

I'm honestly confused—who exactly is playing in your band?
