Staying on topic—I’m convinced it’s an ingrown hair because I’ve dealt with the exact same thing, and let me tell you, it hurts like hell, and the more you try to squeeze it, the more inflamed everything gets... though I always eventually managed to pull out this thick, stubborn hair. Maybe yours is just sitting a little deeper or curled at the root so you can't see it yet. Personally, I'd just wait until it grows out enough to grab with tweezers. By the way, I've been dealing with something similar on my nipple for years... hairs growing around there reaching up to an inch long, and every single time I pluck them, they just grow back ingrown. So I just wait until I can actually see the edge, enduring the pain, and then I get them with the tweezers
I honestly don't know. Everything seems to have calmed down and receded, but I can still feel this tiny little lump there, almost like a subcutaneous pimple... and yeah, I'm leaning towards it being an ingrown hair too. I haven't really been obsessing over it during the holidays, but I'll start paying closer attention tomorrow... you guys have all calmed me down, so thanks... you're all great😉

God, you guys are something else... at this rate, someone’s going to start taking bets on the whole thing. Fine, I'll head over there when the opportunity hits, and then I'll let you know what really happened...
Man, there’s just so much going on with it... the swelling went down a bit today, but the pain is still pretty intense. There’s this spot just above the cyst that’s turned a dark shade of purple, but I’m not really worried about the color as much as the fact that it feels rock hard—not right on the cyst itself, but maybe half a centimeter above it, sort of an elongated shape. I’m definitely going to have to see a doctor. I’m not actually from here, though I'm studying in Chicago, and since I haven't switched over to a local physician yet, does anyone have recommendations on where I should go in the city? Thanks for all the advice 🙏

it’s probably just a hair, you wouldn't believe what they can do to you...
I actually dug my boil out myself and pulled out a two-centimeter hair, though I suppose I’m a bit of a masochist at heart... As soon as I got it out, the whole thing deflated within about two hours. I deal with ingrowns pretty regularly, so I guess I’ve practiced on the minor stuff, haha🙄
well... I’m the complete opposite of you. I can't even squeeze out a basic pimple because the thought of it makes me nauseous and the pain is too much... what am I supposed to do, get drunk so I hit that "whatever" stage where I can just dig away at it? I have issues with ingrown hairs too, but it's just on my legs, nothing major that swells up or gets inflamed... but this...

sounds a lot like the cysts I used to get under my arms...
So what now? How did you actually deal with it? And honestly, besides a cyst, what else could it even be... though I really have no clue how these things even start in the first place... is it just a clogged pore or something like that...
😕
So, about two weeks ago, this bump popped up right on my bikini line—exactly where my underwear edge sits—and it’s been nothing but trouble ever since. I’ve been slapping Band-Aids on it just so I can actually walk without constant irritation. Now, it’s like this cycle where it seems to be healing, then it starts leaking fluid—probably pus, or maybe blood, who knows—and then it goes quiet again, only to swell back up even harder. It feels incredibly firm and painful. Does anyone have any idea what this could be, or more importantly, how I can make it stop? It’s honestly starting to ruin my life... and my gynecologist won't see me until April 25th. Could it just be an ingrown hair or something... ugh...🤷 oh god...
