And for next month, maybe set a phone alarm for a specific time when you know you'll actually be around.
There isn't much point in taking them at all if you're going to keep forgetting like this.
I actually have an alarm set, and I've been on them for five years now—with breaks, obviously—but before this current pack, there was one time where I totally missed a dose.
I've been under so much stress lately, so honestly, the pills haven't even been on my mind. I wasn't home when the alarm went off, so I just forgot... things happen, I guess..
I'm definitely going to use condoms; that was the plan all along, but hey, better safe than sorry, right?🙂
Hey there 🙂
So, I’ve got a bit of a situation here:
I’m on the pill, and last week I took my first pill from a new pack, but then on Tuesday, I totally blanked and missed it—so I ended up taking it with an 11-hour delay. The instructions say to use backup protection for a week, which, okay, I get that part.
But now, almost a full week has passed, and then yesterday, I went and forgot again! I just took it now with a 12-hour delay (and this was actually the very first pill of the second week). The manual says you just take the pill and that’s it, nothing else, but I guess I’m wondering if since this is my second time missing a dose within the same pack, it actually messes with how effective the pills are supposed to be?🙂
I don't know, I guess not really, because honestly, it’s just been my life since forever, like, in both ears every single day, mostly because I dealt with those constant ear infections when I was a little kid—though, I suppose, ever since I was about eight years old, things have actually been pretty fine...
So, I told the guy we really need to use protection, and yeah, we are... I mean, honestly, I’m probably not exactly super fertile anyway, since I don't even get my period or ovulate unless I'm actually on the pill—mostly because I'm a bit underweight, I guess—but still, it's just better to be safe than sorry, right?
thanks 😉
I mean, I get it, but I was just wondering if it’s actually necessary... because obviously, if it is, I'm going to use it, and besides, the instructions say you only need to protect it for just one week anyway, since this is my first week using the new box.
So, I’m on the pill, right? And yesterday, I actually forgot to take my tablet—which, honestly, is like, the first time this has ever happened to me, so I was totally freaking out 😠 . I was supposed to take it at 8:00 PM, but I ended up taking it today at 6:45 PM instead. Now, looking at the instructions, it says if it’s been less than 12 hours, you just take it and you're still protected, but if it’s been more than 12 hours, you take it but you definitely need to use extra protection. I guess I’m just spiraling a little because I don't know if those rules are super strict, you know? Like, does it really matter that I was only about an hour shy of that 12-hour window? Should I be using backup protection or am I probably fine?
hmm, I’ve actually been dealing with some pretty similar stuff lately—you know, the whole irregular bathroom situation and that feeling like you just can't fully empty your system, plus this constant urge to burp where nothing actually comes up, and my stomach feels heavy, and I get this shortness of breath, and sometimes my heart just starts racing out of nowhere...
I know you mentioned you don't think it's stress, but honestly, for me, those exact symptoms are totally triggered by stress.
Maybe you don't feel like you're a high-strung person in general, but from what I can see, this is really eating away at you, and it's pretty obvious things are getting worse because you seem to be getting more and more frustrated by the whole thing.
If it really is stress-related, then it wouldn't just hit you in random bursts; it would be a constant presence, even when you aren't actively worked up for a little bit... everything needs time to settle back down!
You should seriously try some relaxation exercises, maybe like 20 minutes a day, because there's no way you can just shake it off on your own!
but if you could actually manage to truly relax...
I don't know, I think I just kept brushing it off, you know? I kept telling myself it wasn't a big deal and that it would probably just go away on its own if I ignored it long enough, but maybe that was a mistake.
Do you think it’s actually possible that this is all just coming from stress?
So, every single morning, right after I get up and finish my breakfast, my heart just starts absolutely racing—like, pounding out of my chest—and I can barely catch my breath, you know? It’s actually really hard, like I’m taking these shallow, frantic breaths, and this has been happening every single day for quite a while now. The weird thing is, it finally seems to settle down once I head to the bathroom to take a real dump, which, I guess, helps calm things back down a bit.
Now, I honestly don't know if I should be freaking out here, or if this could actually be something much more serious than just a weird bodily quirk?
I’m honestly not sure where the best place to drop this question is, so I’ll just put it here since we’re talking about a possible pregnancy...
Should I go ahead and schedule a blood test for beta hCG at Mount Sinai?
I was really hoping to head over there as early as tomorrow morning, but nobody seems to be picking up the phone at the clinic anymore tonight. Does anyone happen to know their actual operating hours?
So, I started on birth control about a year ago, but then I decided to take a break about a month and a half back, went in for some testing, and everything came back totally fine.
Now I’m thinking about getting back on them, but since I’m a bit underweight, I know my period isn't just going to show up naturally on its own.
And, okay, here’s the thing—I realize I can technically start taking the pills again right away, but I won't actually be protected from pregnancy during that first month. So, I was wondering if anyone knows if my OB-GYN could maybe prescribe something to jumpstart my cycle? That way, I could start the contraception and actually be protected at the same time, you know?
Actually, I had this exact same situation three years ago with a private doctor—same deal, plus PCOS—but those specific pills were super expensive$67, and I just don't have that kind of money lying around right now...
