Specifically, I want to know: why do you think the way women emphasize femininity—like wearing makeup or getting all dolled up—is some kind of "warped value"? Or why is it supposedly bad for a woman to look to a man for protection?
And one more thing: what's your take on guys wearing makeup and grooming themselves? Is that stupid or totally fine? I'm dying to hear what you think.🙂
Yes, I am fully aware that I have been battling depression and anxiety for two years now. I sought out psychiatric help on my own initiative, and I follow my treatment plan strictly.
Emphasizing certain traits isn't a distorted value, but overemphasizing them certainly is.
It is comparable to a doctor walking down a street wearing a T-shirt that screams, "Look at me, I am a doctor!"
When a woman seeks protection from a man, he becomes the dominant party and she becomes the submissive one. I advocate for equality in all aspects; that means even if a woman were to be the dominant one.
Ultimately, people should be free to do as they please. There are plenty of metrosexual men out there, and it is perfectly fine if they devote significant attention to their physical appearance. While society might harshly judge a man for wearing makeup, I do not. If Scott wears kilts and nobody complains, why should there be an issue with him using grooming products? (Though again, not to the same extreme as women.) 😉
